When Denki showed up the next morning, I was happy to see him. I couldn't help but run up and hug him, "My Pika!"

He laughed and swung me around, "Someone is in a great mood."

He set me down and I hugged him tightly, "I'm somewhat nervous for tonight."

"Why? You're gonna be amazing."

I looked up at him, "You think?"

He nodded, "I know, my parents will love you."

I couldn't help but smile, he knew exactly what I was talking about.

Mio sighed as she walked out, "Man, I'm gonna start making Bakugo take me to school, the PDA is blech."

I rolled my eyes, pulling away from Denki, "Oh, hush, it's not like we're full-on making out in front of you."

She shrugged, "Might as well be."

Denki shrugged, "If you want Bakugo to take you, be my guest, more time alone with my girl." He winked as he smirked devilishly.

Mio stuck her finger in her mouth, "Gross."

I sighed, grabbing my bag, "Come on, let's go."

Denki held my door open as usual and we rode in silence.

School went by quickly, Jiro made us practice at lunch and at the end of the day, I was ready for the show, but first, meeting Denki's parents.

I sighed as I stood from my desk, "So, your parents absolutely want to meet me before the dance?"

He nodded, "Yeah, they came home early to be able to. Plus, I need to go home and get clothes for the dance."

I sighed, "Well, geez, that puts the pressure on."

He smiled, kissing my forehead, "It'll be fine."

Jiro sighed as she walked up, "So, how long is your guys' thing going to take?"

Denki shrugged, "No more than an hour."

She nodded, "Got it, I'll help Bakugo and Tokoyami set the sound up in the gym while you guys do that, just don't be gone too long."

We nodded and made our way out.

I sat in the passenger side of his car, nervously fidgeting with my skirt. Man, I wish I could've changed but the only change of clothes I brought were for tonight.

Denki glanced at me, "You okay, Maki?"

I sighed, "I'm scared they won't like me and I can't make the greatest impression in my school uniform."

He winked, "I don't know, you made a good impression on me in that uniform."

I rolled my eyes, "Oh, hush."

He smiled, "Relax, they're going to love you just like I do."

I felt the blush on my cheeks, "Denki, do you really think they'll like me?"

He nodded, "I do. I've told them all about you, I've told them about you helping me study, making me feel good about myself, and I told them how pretty you are."

I blushed, "You're too sweet."

I felt the nervousness get more intense, I've never been to Denki's house. He's been to mine a bunch but I've never even asked about going to his.

He reached over and grabbed my hand, squeezing, "Just be yourself, everything will be okay."

We pulled up to his house, I was nervous the whole walk up. Denki held my hand tightly as we walked through the door, "Mom, Dad, I'm home."

"Darling, Denki's home!" I heard a woman call as she ran into the living room.

The woman who stood before me was pretty. Her hair was the same color as Denki's blonde, her eyes were a darker amber, and she smiled like him.

A man walked in behind her, "Did he bring his girl?"

His dad looked more like him just older with dark black hair.

I bowed to the both of them, "It's… um, it's nice to meet you both, Mr. and Mrs. Kaminari, my name is Maki Kagayaku."

His mother waved her hand, "Oh please, Kagayaku, Mr. and Mrs. is so formal, I'm Emiko, please call us Emi and Daisuke."

I glanced at Denki and back them, "Umm."

She wrapped her arm around my shoulder, leading me away from Denki, "Please, I insist, this goober never stops talking about you, it feels like you are family already."

I blushed as I sat on the couch next to her, "Umm, okay."

Denki laughed nervously, "Mom, I think you're scaring her?"

She glanced between Denki and me, "Am I?"

His father crossed his arms over his chest, "Emi, you can be a bit much."

She glared at her husband, "Oh hush."

She turned her attention back to me, "My, you are way prettier than Denki said you were."

I felt the blush on my cheeks, "Um, thank you."

She smiled, "So, you've only lived here for three years."

I nodded, "My dad is a detective he had to be relocated when he was promoted."

She looked impressed, "A detective, wow, and what does your mom do?"

"She was an opera singer."

His dad nodded, "Is she famous?"

I shrugged, "She had some time in the spotlight."

Emi sighed, "Well, I know we haven't heard of her, we aren't that sophisticated."

I smiled, "Opera isn't for everyone, my dad didn't like it before he married her."

Emi laughed, "That's too cute. And what about you? What do you like to do?"

Denki sighed, "Mom, you don't have to interrogate her, that's her dad's job."

She waved her hand at him, "Oh hush, I'm just getting to know her. Your last girlfriend barely even talked to me. Now, Maki?"

I smiled, "I like to read."

She was impressed, "Really? My boy is with a reader? That's different for him."

I raised my brow, glancing at him, "Really?"

She nodded, "Oh yes, the girls he brings home are generally not the smartest or vainer than they should be at this age. I don't think they'll get anywhere in life. But you, you're different."

"I am?"

She smiled, "Anyone willing to sit and chat with their boyfriends' mother only has good intentions. I should know, I avoided his mother like the plague until I was serious."

I tried to hold back laughter, "How long was that?"

She shrugged, "Denki was about two."

I laughed. This isn't so bad. She's funny. I understand Denki a little more now.

She grabbed my hand, squeezing it, "You know what, I think you should come to stay for dinner one night, what do you guys think?"

Denki nodded, excited.

His father nodded, "Any excuse for me to cook."

Emi nodded, "Yeah, we don't want to poison you with my cooking."

I smiled.

Emi let out a sigh, "Wow, I'm so glad Denki brought you over, it's usually a fight."

I looked up at Denki as he stood beside me, "She's different."

Emi smiled, "Good, so, we will all have dinner soon that way we have some more time to get to know you. You guys should get back to the school."

Denki nodded, holding my hand as I stood, "I'll be home later tonight."

They nodded.

I bowed, "It was great to meet you both."

Emi waved, "It was our pleasure, dear. Have a great time."

Denki smiled as we walked to his car, "That went well."

I nodded, "Yeah."

He chuckled, "Your social battery took a hit."

I nodded again, getting in the car.

He got in and started the car, "Silent drive to recharge?"

I nodded again, enjoying the peace.

Jiro had to run home for somethings to make the sound better and she wasn't back yet as we returned.

Mio hung out with Tokoyami and Bakugo while Denki and me went to sit in the class.

Denki sighed as he sat on top of a desk, "Man, I heard Aizawa was planning to make our semester test really hard."

I squeezed his hand, standing beside him, "You'll be fine, we'll study together."

He smiled, "Geez, you're great."

I shrugged, "I'm alright."

He pulled me closer, hands on my hips, "You're better than alright. You're amazing." He leaned in, kissing my cheek, "Beautiful," He kissed my jaw, "Talented," He kissed my neck, making me take in a breath, "And the coolest chick ever."

He pulled away, a huge smile on his face, "You're blushing."

I hid my face, "Am not."

He made me look back at him, "My parents liked you."

"Do you think they really do?"

He nodded, "Oh yeah, my mom has never invited any of the other girls to the house for dinner."

Before he could say more, his phone rang, "Heyo… yeah… okay… we'll be there in a minute."

He sighed and slid off the desk, "Jiro's back and wants to do a soundcheck before we all change."

I nodded and stepped away to leave. He grabbed me, pulling me back, his lips crashing into mine.

He held me as he deepened the kiss, his thumb caressing my cheek.

I melted in his arms, his soft lips are warm.

He pulled away, "How's that for some affection?"

I was still a little shocked, making him laugh, "You're so sweet."

He grabbed my hand and we made our way to the gym.

Mio laughed as we walked in, "Denki, what did you do to my sister? She looks like she's on something."

Denki laughed, nervously scratching his head, "I guess my kisses affect her."

"You guys kissed?! No way! Are you guys dating?" Ochako screamed as she ran over, streamers flailing around her.

Denki looked at me, he's letting me answer this.

I nodded, the blush heaving on my cheeks, "Yeah, we're… we're dating."

He smiled like he'd accomplished something.

She smiled, "That's so cute! You guys are so cute together?! Are you guys attending the dance together after the show?"

Denki nodded, "We sure are."

Jiro raised her brow, "I thought you were bailing after the show?"

I shook my head, "I was going to but then Denki asked me to be his date."

Denki laughed nervously, "Yeah, I was a little late on the draw with that one."

Mio rolled her eyes, "That's an understatement."

Jiro sighed, "I'm not surprised. Now, let's do that sound checks, and then we'll get ready."

Ochako waved as she went back to decorating.

It took an hour for Jiro to fix the sound to make sure we'd sound good.

When we were done, Mio, Jiro, and I went to the girls' locker room to change. Mio picked out my outfit, a black dress with a lace bodice and gold stars throughout the poofy skirt and the same boots from the last performance.

Mio and Jiro helped with my hair, curling it, as I did my makeup. I went light, eyeliner, mascara, and a lip.

Mio smiled, "Beautiful, Denki won't know what hit him."

I smiled and followed her out.

I looked around for Denki but I didn't see him among the students filing in for the dance. Maybe he wasn't done changing, geez, I thought girls took forever.

This place is already almost full.

I felt arms wrap around my waist and I was suddenly spinning, "My beautiful girl!"

Denki sat me down, nuzzling into my neck, "Hey good lookin'."

He pulled away, looking at me up and down, a blush dusting his cheeks, "Whoa."

I raised my brow, "What?" I felt self-conscious.

He smiled, stepping closer, "You look amazing, Maki, absolutely beautiful."

I smiled, "The best part is, my dress has pockets!" I laughed before glancing back at him, looking at him made me blush, he was wearing his nice black pants, his black button-up with a yellow tie. He's so handsome. I can't believe he's dating me.

Denki grabbed my hand and led me to the stage, "We go on in a few."

Denki grabbed his guitar, throwing the strap on, "Are you ready?"

I nodded, "I'm a little nervous since these are our classmates and not just a bunch of strangers but," I smiled as I dug in my pocket, "I have courage."

I held out my yellow star.

He smiled as he leaned down, lightly kissing my lips, "I have mine too."

"Okay, guys," Jiro said as she stood at her keyboard, "Let's get ready."

Mic grabbed the mic, "Whoooaaa, what's up party people! We've got a nice treat for everyone, out own little band is gonna perform, so, without further ado, The Interlude!"

He handed the mic as he stepped off the stage.

I glanced at Denki who gave me a thumb up before looking at everyone, "Hey, guys, We're The Interlude and I hope you all have a great time."

Jiro counted us in and we started our first song.

We ran through our playlist and it went by quickly. I had a lot of fun and it seemed like everyone else did too.

They cheered us on as we walked off the stage.

Jiro sighed, "That went well."

I nodded, "They seemed to love it."

Denki threw his arm around my shoulder and smiled, "Guys! We are so cool!"

Tokoyami bowed, "It was really fun but I don't want to leave Kendo waiting."

Jiro nodded, "I should find Kirishima."

Mio sighed, "I'm gonna find Hagakure and Iida, I made Iida promises me a dance."

I raised my brow, "You don't dance."

She nodded, "Yeah, I never said he would be dancing with me."

I shook my head as she left.

Bakugo sighed, "I'm out."

He started walking away and I couldn't help but smirk, "Mio dancing with Iida, I wonder I that will lead to anything."

Denki smiled, catching on to what I'm doing, "Who knows, she and Iida would be good together."

Bakugo froze.

Got him, "Who knows who else she'll dance with, she's been left unsupervised."

Denki was trying to hold back laughter, "What if Mineta tries to dance with her?"

Bakugo turned around and started walking back into the gym, "On second thought, I want to stay."

Denki and I busted up laughing.

Denki sighed, "Wow, that was good."

I nodded, "If either of them finds out about that, we're both dead."

He shrugged, wrapping his arms around my waist, "Who cares? Come on, let's go dance."

I nodded, following him. Today went way better than I had planned.
