I heard a weird noise, pulling me from my sleep.

I wiped my eyes and I jumped when I felt an arm wrap around me.

I looked up and the light from my window was just enough to see it was Denki. I felt the blush on my cheeks. I looked at the alarm behind him, it's one-thirty in the morning. He's been here all night.

I put a hand on his cheek, he was sleeping so peacefully. This guy is so… amazing.

I heard the snipping noise that woke me up again.

I gently lifted his arm and slid out of bed, making my way down the hall to the bathroom.

Mio stood in front of the mirror, cutting her hair. The snipping was her.

"What are you doing?" I asked, stepping in.

She glanced at me before turning back to the mirror, "My hair is too long."

"Mom liked your hair long."

She looked at me again before making another cut, "I know."

I took a deep breath, "How are you doing?"

She shrugged, "Fine. Bakugo was here earlier. He witnessed my meltdown."

I was shocked, "And?"

She sighed, setting the scissors down, "He picked up the pieces. Both metaphorically and physically. When I was done, I fell to the floor in tears, as usual, and he picked me and carried me to my room, he sat with me until I passed out. When I got up, he was gone but dad told me Bakugo cleaned up my mess."

I smirked, "Wanna know something crazy?"

She nodded, lifting the scissors to her hair again.

I sighed, "Denki's in my bed, right now."

She dropped the scissors again, "This I gotta see."

She walked down the hall, peering in my room, and came back, shocked, "What the hell? How is he still here?"

I shrugged, "I don't know."

"Girls?"

We looked up at the stairs as dad came down, "What are you two doing up at two in the morning?"

Mio shrugged, "I cut my hair."

He sighed, "That could've waited until morning. Maki?"

I sighed, "I heard her."

He nodded, "Alright, well, Mio, clean up your mess, and Maki, go back to bed."

Mio continued chopping, "You do know there is a boy in her bed, right?"

He nodded again, "Yes, I spoke with his mother and we both agreed under the circumstances and the fact that I am home, he could stay one night and I made sure he knows I have a gun. This is a one-time thing, though. Tomorrow, he goes home before ten if he's here and you're home before nine if you're out."

I nodded, "Sure thing, daddy."

He let out a yawn, "Now, girls, go to bed."

He made his way back up the stairs and I looked back at Mio, "Well, I guess I'm going back to bed."

She nodded, "Just remember, don't be too loud."

I rolled my eyes as I made my way back.

Denki was sitting up, rubbing his eyes as he yawned.

I felt the blush on my cheeks, "Hey."

"Hey," He gave me a sleepy smile, "How are you feeling?"

I shrugged, "I'm okay."

He yawned again, "That's a little bit of progress." He stood and stretched, looking at the time, "Oh, man, I gotta get home."

I pouted, "Denki, it's late. I'm not sure how I feel with you driving so late, besides, my dad said he talked to your mom and you could stay."

He nodded, "I know, that's how I got some clothes to change into but I kind of figured you weren't ready for a sleepover."

I closed the door slightly, "I don't mind you staying. I really don't."

He seemed surprised and sat back down, "Maki, I don't want to push you, especially right now."

I shook my head, "You're not pushing me."

He nodded, "Okay," He took a deep breath, "If you're sure you're okay."

I nodded, sitting next to him.

He nudged me, "Hey, did you know you're a really cute sleeper?"

I smiled, "You're one to talk."

"Wanna lay down?" He asked.

I nodded as we laid down.

He laid on his side, facing me, "Can I ask you something?"

I nodded, facing him.

He took a deep breath, "Why didn't you tell me about your mom?"

I shrugged, "I don't like to talk about it. I didn't want anyone to know."

He reached out, his finger caressing my cheek, "But, my Buzzy, you can tell me anything. I want to be there for you but I can't do that if you hide things from me. I only want to help."

I nodded, "I know, I'm sorry."

He shook his head, "You don't have to apologize. But, you do owe me something."

I raised my brow, "What do you mean?"

His finger traced my lips, "You left class without a kiss goodbye."

I couldn't help but smile as I leaned forward, lightly pressing my lips to his, "Better?"

He nodded, "Oh yeah. I missed those kisses."

I sighed, "I can't believe you're in my bed in the middle of the night."

He smiled, "I'm enjoying it."

He reached out and pulled me closer, "And now, I'm enjoying it even more."

I curled up closer, "Denki?"

"Hmm?"

"Thank you for coming today."

He nodded, "Of course, anything for you. Now, get some sleep."

I nodded and relaxed, letting sleep overcome me.

I woke up, feeling Denki run his fingers through my hair.

He smiled as I opened my eyes, "Good morning, gorgeous."

I yawned, "Morning."

He kissed my forehead, "Do you remember the first day I had breakfast here?"

I nodded, "Yeah."

"And I said what I'd give to wake up next to you?"

I nodded, blushing.

He smiled, "I was right, it's great."

I smiled as I crawled out of bed, "I swear, you're sweet enough to give me a cavity."

He shrugged as he stood, "Only for you."

I made my way to the kitchen for some water. Dad smiled as we walked in, "Good morning, you two."

Denki bowed, "Good morning, sir, thank you again for allowing me to stay and lending me some clothes."

He nodded, "Not a problem so long as I don't have to kill you."

I rolled my eyes, "Dad?!"

He shrugged, "What? I merely asking…"

"Nothing happened." I cut him off.

He nodded, "Good. Denki, you can come over at any time. You are a good boy."

I smiled as dad stood, "I'm off to work."

He hugged me and shook hands with Denki as he walked out.

I sighed, "I guess we should get ready for school."

"I don't want to go," Mio said as she walked in.

Denki was shocked, "Whoa, dig the haircut."

She played with the ends, "Thanks."

I nudged her, "You have to go. We have no reason, not to today."

She groaned but got ready.

When we got to school, Aizawa informed us the test was moved to Friday, which no one had a problem with. The class went by pretty quickly and in no time, it was lunch.

I sat with Denki behind the library as we ate our lunch.

Denki set his phone down, "Hey, my mom just texted me, they're having an early night and she wants you to come over for dinner. If you're up for it?"

I nodded, "Sure."

He smiled, "Really? Are you sure?"

I took one of his chips, "Yeah, I feel better today."

He quickly texted his mom back, "She's gonna be so happy."

I smiled, "I like your mom."

He sighed and leaned back, "She's a good mom."

It was nice to see his good relationship with his mom. Sure, it made me miss my mom, but it was still nice and that was more than enough to make me ignore my feelings of sorrow.

The rest of the day was spent with practice tests for Friday.

When class was over, Mio parted ways, going to Bakugo's to study.

Denki drove me home so I could change.

I stood in front of my closet and sighed.

"What's wrong?" He asked, wrapping his arms around me.

I shrugged, "What do I wear?"

He kissed my shoulder, "Anything, it's not formal and you look good in everything."

I smiled, "So, like a shirt and jeans?"

He nodded, "Sure."

"What about a dress?"

He smirked, "You look really good in dresses."

"A skirt?"

He raised his brow, "Are you trying to tempt me into having some unsavory thoughts?"

I blushed, "No, I swear."

He let out a laugh, "I'm going to leave you to change, anything will look good, I promise."

I sighed as he walked out, if Mio were here she'd just tell me what to wear.

I grabbed a Sailor Moon graphic tank top and a pair of slim-fitting jeans and looked in the mirror. This is casual.

I walked out to Denki, "Is this too casual?"

He smiled as he hugged me, "No, it's perfect."

I nodded and followed him out, "Let's go to dinner then."

I felt some slight nervousness as we drove to his house. It's not as bad as before but it was definitely still there.

He held my hand as we walked up, "Ready?"

I nodded and followed him through the door.

Emi ran up, "Daisuke, the kids are home!"

She ran directly to me, throwing her arms around my shoulder, "Maki! I'm so happy to see you!"

I let out a nervous laugh, "Me too, how are you?"

She smiled, "Oh, I'm lovely honey." She looked back at Denki as she dragged me away, "Honey, go get changed and help your father, he's making pork cutlets."

Denki sighed, "Mother, don't hurt my girlfriend."

She waved her hand at him, "Oh hush, go, give us girl time."

I watched as Denki reluctantly walked away.

Emi dragged me out to the porch where there was a table and she sat me down, "So, tell me how the show went? Denki told me it was fun."

I nodded, "Yeah I had a great time. It was my first dance."

She smiled, "Denki told me he's your first boyfriend."

"Yeah," I shrugged, "I was really shy before. I've liked Denki for a few years now though."

She looked excited, "Really?!"

I nodded, "He's always so bright and bubbly. He's a great friend and I thought he was funny."

Emi looked like she was about to squeal, "And now you guys are dating, that's too cute."

I smiled, looking through the kitchen window, watching him laugh with his dad, "I didn't think he'd ever know who I am but he knows me and likes me. By the way, thank you for letting him stay with me."

She nodded, "He told me about your mom. He told me how much you needed him and I understand it."

I raised a brow, "You do?"

She sat back in her chair, "When I was first dating Daisuke, my mother passed away. She and I didn't get along at all until I hit about seventeen and suddenly she was the only person I would ever go to for boy advice. My girlfriends were too judgy but my mom, she got it.

When she died, I lost my best friend. It broke me. I pushed away from Daisuke. He never gave up though, he held me through every tear-filled night and gave me space when I absolutely need it. He was my rock. I understand needing my son. One thing Denki is good at, cheering people up. And he cares so deeply for you I think that even if I had tried to bring him home, he would've fought me. He would've done anything to be there for you… oh honey, don't cry! I didn't mean to make you cry."

I was shocked, "I'm crying?"

She wiped a tear from my cheek, "Honey, it's gonna be okay. And hey, it might not mean much and I know no one will ever replace your mom but for what it's worth, I will be here for anything you need. You can come to me with anything."

I was shocked, "Really?"

She nodded, reaching out to hug me, "Really? I don't care if it's just to talk or even to bitch about my son, I will be here for you. Like I told you the day we met, you're a part of this family."

I hugged her back, a few tears falling, "Thank you."

"What's going on?" Denki asked as he walked out.

Emi waved her hand at him as I quickly wiped my tears, "Oh hush, we were just having some girl time."

Denki put a hand on my shoulder, "You okay?"

I nodded, smiling up at him, "I'm great."

He smiled, "Dinners almost ready, just waiting on the potatoes."

My jaw dropped, "We're having potatoes?"

Emi winked, "Denki said they're you're favorite."

I nodded, "Thank you."

Denki sat with us and talked until the food came out.

We sat and enjoyed dinner. Denki's parents were so funny and welcoming. They are warm, just like Denki.

Emi smiled at me as we finished our food, "Maki, I'd like you to come to dinner more often."

I nodded, "I'd like that."

Denki held my hand, "We should probably get you home."

Emi nodded, standing, "Yes, my good boy, get the girl home."

She walked us to the door and hugged me tightly, "I meant what I said earlier, pretty girl, any time."

I smiled, "Thank you, and thank you both for a lovely dinner."

Daisuke waved as we walked out.

I stopped Denki as we got to the car, "Hey, I had a good time tonight."

He smiled, "Yeah? Good enough to do it again?"

I nodded, "Yes."

He hugged me tightly, "Man, I'm gonna miss sleeping next to you tonight."

I couldn't hold back the giggle, "Me too."

He leaned down, kissing me gently, "I'm so happy you're in my life."

I smiled as I stared into his amber eyes. He has no idea how happy I am right now.
