After the show at Shiketsu, Jiro managed to get us more and more gigs, some paid and some didn't. Denki laughed every time I spent the money on more books even though my TBR shelf is full.

Denki was doing well in class, not perfect grades but he's passing! I'm proud of him!

Time has gone by so quickly, Halloween is already here.

Todoroki decided we should have a costume party and asked us to play, which we were all down for. Only one problem.

"Denki, I don't know what I'm gonna wear." I sighed as I laid out on my bed.

"You didn't get a costume? I thought you went out with Mio and Ochako to get one."

I sighed, "We got distracted by the Mochi stand and didn't get anything."

I heard him laugh, "Oh, Buzzy, why am I not surprised? Don't worry."

"How?!" I asked, putting the phone on speaker, "How am I supposed to not worry."

"Because," He's smiling, I can tell, "I've got this."

I raised my brow, "What do you mean?"

"I've got us covered."

"How?"

"Don't worry about it, when I'm off, I'll head over."

I let out a groan, "Will we even have enough time? The party starts right after your off."

"I'll talk mom into letting me go early. If it's for you, she'll say yes." There was a pause, "Oh, I gotta go, I'll see you in a couple of hours."

I sighed, "Okay, I love you."

"I love you too, Buzzy!"

I tossed my phone down before getting up and going over to Mio's room.

Bakugo was laid out on her bed, reading, while Mio was doing homework at her desk. Not surprised, it's the way things usually are around here.

I sighed as I sat on the edge of the bed, "What are guys dressing up as?"

Bakugo shrugged, "She picked for me."

Mio nodded, "He didn't want to but I told him it's mandatory."

I shrugged, "What are you going as?"

Mio shut her book, "We're both going to be vampires, I made him do the mold for the fangs last week."

I was shocked, "How'd she manage that?"

Bakugo looked embarrassed, "Don't ask."

Mio sat back in her chair, "What about you and Denki?"

I shrugged, "I forgot to get a costume, Denki says he's got us covered but I don't know what he means."

Mio shrugged, "I'm assuming that means he's got a costume for you."

Bakugo set his book down, "Knowing that dumbass, he probably got some stupid couples costumes like salt and pepper."

I tried picturing it and immediately shook my head, "I hope it's not something dorky like that."

I spent the rest of the time waiting for Denki by reading the last of Tokoyami's journals. This one was intense. There are so many trippy turns and I'm not sure if it's a paranormal theme or the main character is mentally ill and that makes it so much better.

"Hey, Buzzy!"

I jumped, hearing Denki's voice, giving me a heart attack.

He busted up laughing, "I didn't mean to scare you."

He set a bag on the bed before hugging me as I tried to catch my breath, "You okay?"

I nodded, "Don't sneak up on people."

He softly kissed my cheek, "I'm sorry Buzzy."

I sighed, "How was the rest of your shift?"

He shrugged, "Lots of paperwork. I swear my mom thinks I'm a legit secretary. News flash, I'm not."

I smiled, "At least she pays you."

He nodded, "That's true, otherwise I couldn't afford to get our costumes!"

I peeked into the bag, "What are our costumes?"

He gave me a huge smile, "Close your eyes."

I sighed but complied, "Come on, tell me."

"Hold on." I heard the bag move and some other noises, "Okay! Look."

I opened my eyes and looked at what he laid out on the bed. They were school uniforms, not just any school uniforms, they're Hogwarts school uniforms.

My jaw dropped, "These look amazing! Where did you get these? How much did this cost?"

He shrugged, "I ordered them when we started the third book, and don't worry about it."

I looked at the patches, his is Hufflepuff and mine is Ravenclaw, "Denki, is this why you've been working at your parent's shop so much?"

He shrugged, "Part of it. Do you like them?"

I nodded, "I do! Why didn't you tell me? What if I had bought one while I was out with Mio and Ochako?"

He shook his head, "I wasn't worried about it. I told Mio and she promised to talk you out of anything you could find."

My jaw dropped, "Betrayal."

Denki laughed, "I'm gonna go change and then we should get going."

Denki left and I quickly changed.

I stood in front of the mirror, smiling. This looks like an actual uniform, not just some costume. It looks as legit as my school uniform.

When I came out, Mio and Bakugo were ready.

Mio was wearing a Morticia style dress and Bakugo was wearing a black suit with a blood-red vest. He looked handsome.

"What do you think, girls?" Dad asked as he came down.

I tried not to laugh. I know he's trying to be Dracula from Hotel Transylvania but he looks just like Bakugo.

Denki busted up laughing as he came out, "You guys have the same costumes!"

Dad dramatically flipped nonexistent hair, "Well, one of us has to change and it's not going to be me."

Bakugo looked at Mio, not sure what to say.

Mio sighed, "Dad, either hold up a sarcasm sign or don't make the joke, he'll take any excuse to not wear the costume."

Dad shrugged as he adjusted his tie, "A real man wears a costume with pride."

Denki shrugged, "Unmanly dude."

Bakugo sighed, "Why do I feel like I'm talking to Kirishima?"

Denki smiled, "We should get going guys."

I kissed dad, "Have fun at your company party."

He nodded as we walked out, "You too but remember if it gets out of hand, I'll be the one to shut it down."

I shook my head, smiling, picturing him in that costume breaking up the party.

No one had really arrived yet by the time we got there which was perfect. It gave us time to do a soundcheck and practice a bit.

When everyone started to show up, I laughed at some of the costumes, Kirishima was the American wrestler The Rock because he's manly.

We opened our show with a little bit of rock, some covers of Icon for Hire, some older Paramore, the Evanescence songs I could handle and then we chilled it out with a slower song.

Denki pulled a chair up as Tokoyami and Jiro stepped down, Bubbly is just me with some guitar and light drums.

I've been awake for a while now
You've got me feelin' like a child now
'Cause every time I see your bubbly face
I get the tingles in a silly place

I smiled at Denki as he strummed,

It starts in my toes and I crinkle my nose
Where ever it goes I always know
That you make me smile, please, stay for a while now
Just take your time wherever you go

The rain is fallin' on my window pane
But we are hidin' in a safer place
Under covers stayin' dry and warm
You give me feelings that I adore

I made eye contact with Denki, he looked so happy as he played. He moved with the song, swaying.

I'm so in love with this guy. His amber eyes make me feel safe and warm, he's kind and gentle, silly and can make me laugh in a heartbeat, and his smile makes me smile no matter how I'm feeling. I'm so glad I went along with Mio to hang out with everyone.

I wrapped my arms around Denki, hugging him from behind as the song ended, a light blush on his cheeks.

I pressed my lips to his cheeks as he finished the last note of the song, our friends cheering as he turned, kissing me back.

I was slightly embarrassed every one was watching but at the same time, I didn't care.

Denki smiled, "I love you."

I kissed his smile, "I love you too."

We pulled away and joined everyone else. They smiled and gave us cutesy faces.

I made my way over to Tokoyami, "Hey, I've almost finished the last journal."

He nodded, "And?"

I rocked back and forth on my heels, "I gotta know, is it a paranormal book or is it mental illness?"

Tokoyami shrugged, a smirk on his face, "You'll have to finish it to find out. Text me when you do."

I nodded as he went to join Kendo.

Everyone congratulated us on our performance, telling us how cute we were.

I sighed, feeling a bit overwhelmed, "I think I'm going to step out for a bit."

Denki nodded, glancing around, "I'll come with you."

I shrugged, "You can stay and enjoy the festivities."

He shook his head, "I can't let you go outside alone."

I smiled and he proceeded to follow me out.

I went and sat on the sidewalk, sighing as I looked up, "I had a lot of fun."

He nodded, "Me too."

I felt his arm wrap around me and I leaned in, "These costumes were a great idea, I love them."

"I knew you would."

I took a deep breath, sunshine after the rain, "Denki, I want you to know, I'm happy."

"You are?"

I nodded.

"Good," I felt his kiss the top of my head, "That's all I want."

"Do you enjoy being in the band?" I asked, glancing up at him.

He nodded, a smile on his face, "I love it, I think it's the coolest thing I ever have done."

I leaned up, kissing his cheek softly, "You're good at it, you look like a natural while you're playing."

His nose nuzzled mine, "You think?"

I nodded, "Like a pro."

He kissed my forehead, "You're sweet."

We sat there for a while longer before I yawned, "I think I'm ready to go home."

He squeezed me, "You didn't get to enjoy the party."

I shrugged, "I don't think parties are my thing. I like singing for them but it's a lot."

He nodded, "Okay, let's get you home."

We walked to his car hand in hand. He stopped me before I could reach the door, pulling me into a deep kiss.

I wrapped my arms around him, holding him close as he pulled away, "What was that for?"

He shrugged, "What? I can't kiss my girlfriend? What is the world coming to?"

I smiled, shaking my head, "Oh hush, silly."

He raised a brow, "'Oh hush,'? Who are you, my mom?"

I pulled away waving my hand the way Emi does.

He shook his head, "No, please, don't do that."

I poked at him, "Why? Thinking about your mom."

He pushed me to the car, hugging me, "Yes and I don't want to be."

I laughed, running my fingers through his hair, "Okay, I'll stop."

He pulled away, looking into my eyes, "Maki," He let out a deep breath, "I need to tell you something."

I nodded, "Okay."

He cupped my face in his hands, lightly kissing my forehead, each cheek, my nose, and finally my lips, "I need you to know how much you mean to me, Buzzy."

I smiled, "You tell me that all the time."

He shook his head, "This is different. I need you to know how serious I am about you. This isn't just some random high school relationship to me. This is what I want forever."

I felt the blush rushing to my cheeks, "Really?"

He lightly kissed my lips, "Really. You're the one, you're who I want to spend the rest of my life with. I can't see myself being happy with anyone but you."

I looked down, "Denki," I sighed, "We're only in high school, you don't know how we'll feel in a few years."

He shrugged, "Do you see yourself with someone else?"

I shook my head.

He sighed, "Maki, don't doubt yourself too much. I'm not going anywhere. I love you, I love only you and I want to be here for you as long as you want me. I know, in my heart, I'm still going to want you in a few years, hell, I'll still want you in twenty years."

I smiled, "Denki…"

He shook his head, "Just tell me you love me."

I stood on my tippy toes, kissing his lips, "I love you."

I really do.
