It's been a month since I came back from the tour. I still can't stop thinking about what Snow has planned. The reaping is tomorrow and now I have to mentor an innocent child who will probably get slaughtered in the Games.

Prim is really nervous about tomorrow. Even though I won the Games, she can still be reaped. She is terrified that her name will be picked. I can't even tell her that her name won't be chosen because it was two years ago and now her name is in there three times.

I really wish Haymitch was here to guide me and Peeta through this. I don't even know how to mentor someone. I am not good at making friends and I will just come off as annoyed and mean to these kids. I hope Peeta learned enough from last year to help me.

I spend the whole day hunting, The woods are the only place I can calm down and be myself. Peeta knows this and stayed home with Daisy. After a few hours I go to my lake. My beautiful lake, and go for a short swim. That's when I hear the moans coming from the small hut by the shore.

I walk over and find a young woman laying on her back inside. I rush to her side.

"Are you ok?" I ask frantically.

"Katniss? Katniss Everdeen is that you?" she asks as she looks at me. Her voice is raspy.

"Yes it's me," I say. She then pulls out a cracker with my mockingjay symbol on it.

"My name is Crystal. I have come from the Capitol," she says. "I'm on your side."

My side? What does that mean?

"Did you walk here?" I ask. Her head is burning up. She has a really high fever.

"Yes. I came in the winter," she says. That explains the fever. "I fell ill last week, but that doesn't matter. Plutarch sent me to warn you about…"

"About what?" I ask.

"About…" she says and her eyes close. Her puse is gone. She is dead. What was Plutarch trying to warn me about? That's all I can think about as I bury her body and walk home.

*the next day*

Everyone is gathered in the square. Peeta and I sit up on the stage with Daisy and the mayor. All I can think about is what Crystal said yesterday. What is Plutarch trying to warn me about? Peeta can see my worry and he grabs my hand.

Effie comes out onto the stage. Ever since the last Games, she hasn't been as enthusiastic about them. She shows the kids the video and makes her usual speech.

"Happy Hunger Games and may the odds be ever in your favor," she says at the end. "As usual, ladies first," she says and walks over to the glass ball containing the female names. She digs around and pulls out a slip of paper. As she walks over to the microphone she undos the tape.

"The female tribute from District 12 is…" her voice drops. "Primrose Everdeen."
