Lottie followed Adam toward the stables. She felt like there were a million butterflies loose in her stomach.
She had relented and agreed to his request to go horseback riding. She loved horses, and she was excited about the new experience, but she was also nervous.
"Don't be nervous. If you're nervous the horse will be nervous too." He said as they reached the barn - "You aren't going to fall off. Just hold on to the reins and keep your feet in the stirrups."
"I am more worried about it getting spooked and throwing me off." Lottie admitted.
"You'll be fine. You trust me right?"
"Of course I do."
"I promise you'll be fine."
She smiled. She knew she could call him out on making promises that he might not be able to keep - instead she accepted the heartfelt gesture. "Thank you."
She had traveled down to Adam's home state of North Carolina to spend the weekend. She had booked a nice hotel room not too far from his house, even though he had offered her the guest room. They had spent Friday evening relaxing.
He led the way into the barn where one of the stable hands was waiting for them.
The stable hand was holding the reins of a beautiful appaloosa. He nodded toward Colette, "Hello ma'am. You're going to be riding this beauty. Her name is Emerald."
"She's beautiful." Lottie smiled and stroked the horse's neck.
"She's a sweetheart," the stable hand said.
Lottie smiled, feeling better about the situation now that she had met the horse she would be riding.
"Hop on. She's ready for a good trek."
Lottie nodded and climbed up on the horse, making sure both of her feet were securely in the stirrups.
While she was getting on her horse, Adam was also getting on his - a stunning palomino.
Lottie listened intently to the ranch hand as he explained to her how to use the reins and handle the horse. She thanked him for his help when he was done.
"You two have a good time. I'll be here when you get back." The ranch hand who had helped Adam said.
"You ready?" Adam asked as he directed his horse over to hers.
Lottie nodded, "Let's go."
While Lottie was in North Carolina spending some time with Adam, Cami was staying back at home. It wasn't the same without her sister around, but Cami was glad that her sister had that someone special she wanted to spend time with.
Cami spent her time doing research for a project she was interested in doing. Lottie had the brainchild of doing bath bombs, but Cami wanted to expand their business. She wanted to do makeup and hair products. Of course, she wanted them to sell vegan products.
Cami hadn't shared the idea with Lottie yet because she wanted to get all her research done beforehand. But once that was all done, she was ready to share her brainchild.
She'd done enough research for the time being so she grabbed her phone and decided to send a text message to Kenny.
Hey. Are you free to talk for a little bit?
She went into the kitchen to get a bottle of water and spaghetti leftovers. When she sat back down on the couch, she saw that he replied.
Sure. Phone call or FaceTime?
That was easy. She missed his face. She hasn't seen much of him since the All Out pay-per-view. FaceTime.
Almost immediately, Cami was receiving a FaceTime call from Kenny and she accepted the call. She smiled when she saw his face on the other end.
"Hey," Cami greeted. "What are you doing?"
"Playing video games."
"Shocker."
Kenny laughed. "What are you doing?"
"I was doing some research."
Kenny's eyebrows furrowed. "Research for what?"
"On makeup and hair products. I'm wanting to start a makeup and hair product line."
"You love that stuff. You should absolutely go for it."
Cami smiled. "Thanks for the support."
"Of course!"
"I haven't told Lottie about this yet. I want to do all the research before I mention it."
"I'm sure that she'll be on board with it."
"Hopefully."
"Speaking of your sister: how's she enjoying her time with Hangman?" Kenny wondered.
"I haven't spoken to her much since she's been gone because I want her to enjoy her time, but she did send me a text today saying that she and Adam were going horseback riding."
"How romantic," The Best Bout Machine joked.
"You're such a doofus." Cami rolled her eyes. "But, I actually think it is adorable."
"Who knew that under all that dark and gloomy exterior, there was a mushy interior?"
Cami frowned. "You think I'm gloomy?"
"It's just your style I was referring to," Kenny explained. "I don't think you act like that at all."
"We all know I'm not exactly all rainbows and butterflies."
"Sure you are."
"Whatever you say, Omega."
"I think you're cute," Kenny smiled. "Anyways, I'm going to go. I'll call you later - okay?"
"Okay." Their FaceTime call ended and Cami went back to doing her research.
Lottie had already changed into her attire for the evening - a pair of ripped light wash denim shorts over black nylons and a black lace bodysuit. She had her light wash denim jacket wrapped around her waist as she slid on her black, fringed cowboy boots. She had already seen to her makeup before changing. Her eyes were done with a shimmering silver eye and black winged eyeliner and her lips were coated with red matte lipstick. She was more than pleased with her look for the evening.
She fluffed her dark curls and adjusted the sparkling silver bracelets on her wrists before grabbing her phone and leaving the dressing room.
She felt a fluttering sensation in her stomach as she stepped out into the hustle and bustle of the hallway. The experience backstage was always pleasant and exciting, but everything seemed even more busy with the series premiere of AEW Dynamite just hours away.
She got out her phone and began filming for the vlog. She talked to several of the wrestlers before deciding she had enough footage. She stood in the hallway and took a selfie for her instagram - hoping to promote the show.
She was posting the picture to her instagram when someone grabbed her around the waist. She squealed, shocked by the sudden action, and elbowed the person stiffly in the ribs.
"Ow, what the fuck, Lottie?"
She spun around to find a distraught looking Adam clutching his midsection, where she had elbowed him.
"Oh my gosh, Adam I'm so sorry. You scared me. I didn't mean to." She walked over and wrapped her arms around his neck.
"Who else would be grabbing you like that?" Adam asked, wrapping his other arm around her waist to return the embrace.
"You never know what fans will do - if they come backstage with a v.i.p pass. Not that I would want to hit a fan either. I just reacted." She took a step back and frowned. She covered her mouth with one hand, "Oh, I feel so terrible. I'm so, so, sorry."
He nodded, frowning, "If a fan is ever inappropriate with you . . . you let me know," He said darkly.
"I can handle fans." Lottie said. "Are you okay?"
"Yea, I'm fine." Adam nodded. "I won't do that again."
"I really am sorry. I should have known it would be you - - - or maybe Nick."
"Well you can elbow Nick; just don't elbow me, alright?" He joked in an obvious attempt to lighten the mood.
She smiled slightly, "Deal."
"Were you taking a picture?" He asked.
"Posting one." She showed him the selfie on her phone. "I was hoping to promote the show a little bit."
"Beautiful and a marketing genius. How lucky am I?" He smiled and grabbed her, wrapping his arms around her waist.
She smiled and returned the embrace before giving him a quick peck on the lips. "I don't know you might be able to find a girl who doesn't beat you up."
He chuckled, "I'll take my chances. I'd much rather be with you."
"You're too sweet."
"I was looking for you to see if you want to join me at catering and grab something to eat before the show starts."
"Sure. That sounds great." Lottie said as she released her grip on him and grabbed his hand instead, smiling as they walked toward catering.
Cami was sitting in catering eating some of the food Cracker Barrel provided for the big night. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw someone occupy the empty seat beside her. Her eyes widened at the legendary Chris Jericho being the one to occupy the seat. The two never really interacted with one another, so she was curious as to why he was gracing her with his presence.
"So, you and your sister are joining my new group?"
Cami nodded. "That's what I heard."
"I think you two will make nice additions."
"You think so?"
"For sure. I think you and Lottie will bring a little extra something to the table."
"You know my sister's name?" Cami was shocked that a legend like Chris Jericho was even aware of their existence.
"Of course I do," Chris responded. "Just like I know your name is Camille."
"You know my name!" Cami beamed. "Chris Jericho knows my name." Her cheeks were turning bright red.
"Are you okay?"
"I'm so sorry. You must think I'm crazy." Cami felt embarrassed for how she was acting around Chris. He was her all time favorite wrestler and she was acting like a fan girl. "It's just a huge honor."
"No worries." The current AEW world champion waved off the issue. "I'm very flattered."
"Thanks for being so cool. I feel embarrassed for my behavior."
"Omega was right about you: you are very down to earth."
Cami's eyes lit up at hearing her boyfriend's last name. Her heart was also fluttering at hearing about him saying endearing things about her. "He said that about me?"
"I talked to him earlier and he said that."
"That's nice of him to say."
Chris nodded. "I can see why he said that. I have to agree."
Cami blushed. "That means a lot to me."
"I think we're going to get along just fine." Chris stood up straight. "It was nice to finally talk to you, Camille."
"It was nice to finally talk to you too, Chris." As soon as he was out of her sight, she let out a heavy breath. Oh my gosh! Cami thought to herself.
She composed herself and got back to eating her food. She still couldn't get over the fact that she just interacted with Chris freaking Jericho for the first time ever. She couldn't wait to tell Lottie and Kenny about this.
Lottie stood beside the ring as Adam got up on the ring apron, looking for the buckshot lariat. As Adam was climbing up on the ring apron, Lottie crouched down and pulled something out from underneath the ring. When Adam was poised on the apron, waiting for Pac to get up, Lottie swung the weapon, striking him in the back. Adam fell to the ring apron where Lottie once again hit him. Pac, who had seen Lottie with the weapon, had decided to seize the opportunity and distracted the referee.
The commentators were yelling while Lottie assaulted Adam with the riding crop. She laughed vehemently as she held the weapon up in the air, taunting the audience once she completed her assault. She dropped it on the ground just as the referee turned around.
Lottie kicked it out of sight before shoving Adam back between the ropes. Pac ran over and positioned him under the ropes. He scrambled up to the top rope and hit the black arrow before locking in the brutalizer.
The fans all booed when the referee called the match.
Pac left the ring, celebrating his victory.
Once Pac was celebrating on the ramp, Lottie bent down and picked up the riding crop. She slid under the bottom room and got to her feet, holding the riding crop in one hand.
Lottie stood over Adam for a minute before dropping to her knees. She grabbed him and pushed him up into the corner. "You're pathetic." She taunted as the commentators raved about her 'audacious actions'. She leaned closer to him, "You're not some tough cowboy, you're just a waste of space, and a waste of my time." She laid the riding crop on top of him before standing up. Once she was on her feet she took off both of her cowboy boots and chucked them at him, causing him to jerk in his spot in the corner.
She slid out of the ring and began to walk up the ramp, laughing as the fans booed her. Once she was at the top of the ramp she posed with her arms out in the air mockingly before walking backstage.
The main event was starting to pick up. It was Chris Jericho, Santana, and Ortiz going against The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega. Omega was in the driver's seat at this point. He was setting up for the terminator dive, but he had a feeling something wasn't right. He turned around and came face to face with Jon Moxley.
Kenny and Jon started exchanging blows to the outside, through the crowd, and into the VIP section. During that time, Kenny got a pop by bringing out his Cleaner persona that a lot of the wrestling fans loved. He got a mop and started 'cleaning.'
Moxley regained the upper hand. He placed Omega against a door. Moxley rammed Omega's head into the door several times making the Cleaner go woozy.
After that, Moxley got Omega in position and BAM! Omega got a Paradigm Shift through a glass table. The crowd started chanting 'holy shit' and the announcers were flabbergasted by what just transpired.
Once Moxley left the scene, Camille appeared, and the crowd was booing her existence. There were chants of "you screwed Kenny." She wore an outfit antithesis of what she wore when she was a part of the Elite. She wore a black silk shirt that tied in the front, a silver rhinestone embellished skirt, and black stilleto sandals with silver rhinestones embellished on the sandals. Her raven hair was curled and her makeup was done with a black smokey eye and black lipstick.
"That jezebel! What is she up to?!" JR exclaimed.
She approached the fallen Kenny and stood above him. She started talking trash. She then slapped his face twice. She kicked him in the side with one of her pointed heels before leaving the fallen Kenny Omega.
"Camille obviously has a problem with Kenny for whatever reason," Tony Schiavone stated.
Cami and Lottie were sitting in the vehicle that was taking them to their motel. They were talking about their experiences for the first ever AEW Dynamite.
"I captured some footage for our vlog. I was so busy that I didn't expect anyone to sneak up on me. I thought it was Nick because it would be something he would do, but it turned out to be Adam."
Cami giggled. "I wish I could've been there to see that."
"Thanks for the support, Camille," Lottie deadpanned.
"Anytime," Cami sweetly smiled. "So, you will never guess who I interacted with today." Cami's face started beaming.
"Who?"
"Chris Jericho! And he actually knew our names!"
"Starstruck much?" Lottie kidded. "Seriously though: that's awesome."
"And guess what else?"
"What?"
"Chris mentioned that Kenny said to him that I was down to earth and Chris agreed with that." Cami was sure that her face was going to be sore tomorrow from all the smiling she was doing.
"That's super sweet." Lottie was happy for her sister. She thought Kenny and Cami made a good couple.
Cami blushed. "Anyways…. You did fantastic on the show. You got some serious heat."
"Thanks," Lottie smiled. "What about the crowd booing you whenever they saw you? You're not exactly in their good graces anymore."
"I know, right?" Cami laughed. "I think it's going to be fun embracing our bad side. I like the new wardrobe change too."
"Me too!"
Cami and Lottie arrived at their motel. "So, are you going to see Adam?" They went to retrieve their bags out of the trunk.
Lottie nodded. "Yeah. Are you going to go see Kenny?"
Cami nodded. "I think I'm going to stay in his room."
"Sounds like a plan." Lottie shut the door to the trunk. They grabbed their suitcases and walked inside the building. "See you in the morning." The twins hugged each other before parting ways.
Lottie knocked on the door to Adam's hotel room. She didn't have to wait long for the door to swing open. Adam stood on the other side of the door, still clad in the jeans and t-shirt he had been wearing when he left the show.
"Hey there." He smiled and moved aside so she could go in.
"Hey?" She was carrying a large tote bag over her shoulder. "Mind if I hang out for a little while?"
"Not at all. Looks like you plan on staying with me." He pointed toward the tote bag.
"What?" Lottie asked, surprised. She glanced at where he was pointing and shook her head. "Oh. this. No. I did bring you something though." She dropped the bag on his bed and pulled out a bottle of whiskey. She also grabbed a pack of solo cups and a liter bottle of sprite out of the bag.
"How sweet of you." He said, sitting down on the bed.
"Well, I figured it's the least I can do after beating you with a riding crop." She said as she opened the solo cups. She pulled one out and handed it to him.
"You have a pretty good swing for such a little thing." He took the cup and held it while she poured some whiskey into it.
Lottie blushed, "Sorry - I wanted to make it look good."
He chuckled and took a sip of the whiskey. "I guess I'll forgive you. What was up with you throwing your boots at me?"
"I told Cody I was going to do it at the last minute. Cami and I were talking about the segment and we thought it would be symbolic of me breaking off our relationship if I got rid of my boots." She explained as she mixed a cup of whiskey and sprite.
He nodded, "Clever." He watched as she took a sip of her drink. "You just ruined perfectly good whiskey."
Lottie giggled and shook her head, "Sorry I'm not tough like you - I have to mix my whiskey."
"You'll get drunk quicker that way."
"So I've heard." She took another sip of her drink before sitting it down. "I'm going to miss being your valet."
"Hey, you're getting to show off your talent - besides you get to spend as much time as you want with me outside of the show - isn't that even better?" He took a swig of his whiskey.
"You make a very good point." She nodded.
"Plus I don't have to worry about you beating me up anymore."
"I don't know about that. You never know if our paths are going to cross again on screen."
"Okay, but next time no riding crops."
"Oh come on. Don't be a baby. I'm just a little thing, remember?" She teased.
He grunted. "True." He polished off his whiskey.
"Besides - If you get beat up, I have to take care of you." She kidded.
"How could I forget that?" He nodded toward the bottle of whiskey, "Refill, please?"
"Sure." She grabbed the bottle, and poured some more into his outstretched cup.
He took a sip before rolling his neck and shoulders. She frowned at the action. "You look tense." she commented, grabbing her drink from the floor, and taking another sip.
"A little stiff," He admitted. "It's alright."
Lottie frowned. She once again sat her cup on the floor before climbing up on her knees on the bed. She moved so she was positioned behind him. He glanced over his shoulder curiously as she knelt behind him. "Relax, I'm not going to kill you or anything." she teased.
"Good to know." He chuckled. He took another sip of his whiskey. "I trust you." He added.
She smiled, and rolled up the sleeves of her flannel shirt before beginning to gently rub his shoulders, earning a quiet moan.
She continued to gently massage his shoulders.
She smiled as he relaxed beneath her touch.
"That feels amazing. Thank you" He said gratefully.
"You're welcome." She moved to his upper back, rubbing gently. "If you lie down I can do your back too. I have lotion in my bag - if you want." She offered.
He nodded. She moved out of his way, waiting as he finished off his whiskey. He stood up and tossed his cup in the trash. He stripped off his shirt, tossing it on the bed, before lying face down on the mattress. She moved closer, kneeling beside him
She frowned, noticing the red marks and welts across his back. "Your back." Lotties was well aware that bumps, scrapes, cuts, bruises, and injuries were a part of the job, but should couldn't help but feel guilty for being the cause of the welts and marks on her boyfriend's back.
"I told you were strong for a little thing." He repeated.
"I'm sorry." She said.
"It's okay. You were doing exactly what you were supposed to do. Don't be upset."
She nodded her head and grabbed her purse. His words did little to comfort her. She grabbed her bottle of lotion, put some on his back, and gently began to massage.
She continued her actions until his muscles began to loosen beneath her touch and he began to relax.
"Feeling better?" She asked.
"Much, thank you." He said, with a yawn.
"Good." She said.
"I don't deserve you." He said sleepily.
"Of course you do and you sound tired. I should go so you can get some rest." She said as she got up off the bed.
"Why don't we have breakfast in the morning before you and Cami leave?" He asked.
"Sure - that would be great." She smiled and grabbed her tote bag. "Goodnight Adam." She kissed him on the cheek before getting up off the bed.
"Goodnight." He said with another yawn.
She shook her head, smiling, as she crossed the room and stepped out into the hall, snapping the door shut behind her.
With her suitcase in tow, Cami made it to Kenny's motel room. She knocked on the door.
A shirtless Kenny opened the door. "Hey. Come on in." He scooted to the side so Cami could enter. Once Cami entered, he shut the door.
Cami laid her suitcase against the wall. "Is it okay if I stay here tonight?"
"Definitely."
Cami smiled. "Thank you." She changed out of her clothes into something more comfortable.
"I enjoy your company." He sat down on the bed and patted the empty spot next to him.
"Ditto." She joined him on the bed. "So, tonight went good."
"Well except for the part where you literally kicked me when I was down," Kenny kidded.
"Sorry," Cami pouted. "I didn't hurt you too bad; did I?"
"Those heels of yours hurt more than I expected. Who knew shoes could be so lethal?"
Cami laughed. "That's why heels are awesome."
"Hopefully I won't have to feel your wrath again anytime soon."
"Well…. It looks like I'm going to be a pain in your ass for a while onscreen."
"Art imitates life."
"You think I'm really a pain in your ass?" Cami frowned.
"I was joking." Kenny playfully shoved Cami's shoulder. "Lighten up."
"So, I got to talk to Chris Jericho today."
"How'd it go?"
Cami beamed. "Amazing! Although, I came off as a bit of a fangirl."
"Despite that, I'm sure you and Chris hit it off."
"I think we did. He agreed that I was down to earth." Cami nudged Kenny's shoulder. "Would you happen to know anything about that?"
"I told Chris that you were down to earth," Kenny admitted. "He inquired about you since you two are going to be working together onscreen and I gave my honest opinion about you."
"You're the best."
"Likewise."
"You know, I'm really enjoying this."
"Enjoying what?"
"Just hanging out with you and talking. I'm not complaining about all the physical stuff by any means…." that last comment earned her a chuckle from Kenny. "...but, it feels nice being able to talk about these different things with you. Like: you were the first to know about my interest about a makeup and hair product line, and I told you about how excited I got about interacting with Chris. Lottie is really the only person I share stuff like this with so to me this is a huge deal."
Kenny smiled. It meant a lot to him that Cami held him in such a high regard. "I'm glad to know you feel that way. I feel that way too."
"You do?"
"Yeah. I always look forward to talking to you or seeing you. I've rarely felt that way about anyone."
Cami placed a hand over her heart. "I feel very special."
"You're one of a kind." Kenny ruffled Cami's hair. They spent the rest of the night talking about different topics until they fell asleep.
