Sunset city was famous for its sunsets.

And even though the sunsets are a daily thing, there were a few that the citizens celebrated. One such sunset was the Christmas sunset. On the evening before Christmas, the people would gather at the bridge of Sunset city and watch how the sun goes down. The bridge would be closed for cars so the citizens can walk freely. It was a festival that they loved and celebrated faithfully (when the city wasn't under an attack, that is). But thankfully, there were no attacks this Christmas, so the celebration was going with full force.

Among the citizens were also the Ultimate lifeform Shadow the hedgehog and the treasure huntress and government spy Rouge the bat. But they were not alone. With them were three children, one small hedgehog and two small bats. These were Shadow and Rouge's children.

The hedgehog was a six-year-old boy that resembled his father greatly. He had the same black fur and red eyes, but his markings were white, instead of red. His name was Dusk and he was currently walking by his mother while holding her left hand.

Rouge's right hand was taken by her older daughter. She was a three-year-old bat with red fur, red eyes and black markings. Her name was Ruby.

Finally, Shadow was pushing a baby carriage containing their youngest child. She was a baby bat only six-months-old. She had her mother's white fur and blue eyes, but her red markings were from her dad. The little girl's name was Maria.

''Oh come on, Shadow, can't you smile a little bit?'' Rouge asked her husband, though she already knew the answer.

''You know how i feel about crowds.'' answered the black hedgehog. Even after years of therapy, Shadow was still a hopeless introvert.

''But aren't you happy to be with us, daddy?'' Ruby looked at him with her big red eyes, one of Shadow's greatest weaknesses.

Shadow sailed a little bit ''Honestly, you kids and your mom are the only reason I haven't run off yet.''

''Don't get mushy on us, dad!'' Dusk said playfully, which made everyone laugh (even though Shadow only chuckled).

''Oh let's go watch the sunset!'' Ruby urged her family, while pulling the sleeve of her mom's red winter jacket.

Rouge smiled ''Alright, sweetheart, let's go.''

The family found themselves a place by the rail of the bridge and started looking at the sunset. As always it was breathtaking. Even Shadow couldn't deny it.

Rouge noticed this and snuggled up in her husband ''Still regret coming?''

Shadow smiled at his wife ''Not so much anymore.''

(later that evening...)

After the sunset was over, the family returned home. Upon entering the house, they were greeted by the smell of the dinner that was waiting for them. Soon, the cook came to greet them. It was Omega, wearing kitchen gloves and an apron that had ''Kiss the cook'' written on it.

''HOW DID THE SUNSET WATCHING GO?'' asked the big robot.

''It was great, uncle Omega.'' Ruby said as she gave her 'uncle' a hug.

''Yeah, even dad smiled.'' Dusk pointed at Shadow, who was taking Maria's winter jacket off of her.

''Why is that such a shock?'' the anti-hero asked ''I smile quite often, especially compared to before!''

''He is right, Dusk.'' Rouge said to her son ''When we first met, his face was in a constant frown.''

''Hum, it's not like I had many reasons to smile back then...'' Shadow said quietly, but it didn't escape Rouge's good hearing. She realized she might have gone too far.

The bat turned to her children ''Hey, my little gems, why don't you go prepare yourselves for dinner. We will turn the radio on.''

''Yes, we will hear K-TBR's Christmas program!'' Ruby said happily as she and her brother headed towards the bathroom. Omega followed them.

Once alone, Rouge turned to Shadow ''Hey, sorry for what I just said. I wasn't thinking.''

Shadow, who was still holding Maria, responded ''It's fine! You meant no harm.''

''I know, but I still feel bad. You did so much for me and the kids today, yet we mock you.''

Shadow wrapped his free hand around Rouge's waist and pulled her closer to him ''Your happiness makes me happy, so what's the problem?''

Rouge smiled and raised an eyebrow ''That was so corny!''

''I don't care!'' Shadow kissed his wife deeply. Rouge smiled and returned the kiss, before wrapping her hands around her husband's neck. Maria started giggling at the scene.

Rouge broke the kiss and looked at her youngest child ''She definitely likes watching us kiss!''

"Unlike Dusk.'' Shadow added.

Rouge laughed and then turned to Shadow ''Seriously though, you did so much for us today that I would like to thank you...properly...''

A naughty light flashed through the bat's eyes, which made Shadow blush. He knew exactly what it meant.

''What... do you have in mind...'' the hedgehog asked before being hushed by Rouge's finger.

''You don't want to ruin the surprise, do you?'' Rouge asked playfully. Shadow shook his head.

''Then let's prepare ourselves for dinner...'' Rouge started walking towards the bathroom and Shadow followed, still thing about how would Rouge 'thank him' tonight...

(the same night, a little before midnight...)

Dusk was sleeping peacefully in his bed, but he was then shaken awake by someone.

''Dusk, wake up!'' he heard the voice of his little sister, Ruby, calling him.

''Ruby?'' Dusk asked, while rubbing his eyes sleepily ''Why aren't you sleeping your beauty sleep?''

Ruby rolled her eyes at her brother's sass and answered ''I am going to see Santa Claus! Come with me!''

''You won't see him! I've tried three times already. I always fall asleep. I thing Santa has a sleeping dust or something.''

''Well, this time it will be the two of us!'' Ruby said confidently ''He can't put us both to sleep, can he?''

Dusk considered the idea and decided it was worth the shot ''Okey, let's go!''

The brother and sister came out of the room and started walking quietly towards the stairs, careful not to wake up their parents or Maria. But while they were passing by their parents' room, the kids noticed that the door was slightly cracked and that dim red light was coming from it. Despite the risk of getting caught, the curiosity of the two kids got the better of them and they quietly made their way to the crack and looked through it.

What they saw truly confused them.

Dusk and Ruby could see their dad lying on his back, but what was unusual was that his hands were tied to the opposite ends of the head of the bed. They couldn't see past his chest, but his legs were probably also tied. Another strange thing was that he had a red ball in his mouth.

''What's going on?'' Ruby whispered to Dusk, who responded with a shrug.

Just then a voice came ''My, oh my! Krampus didn't mention how handsome you are!''

Dusk and Ruby were shocked. It was their mother's voice! But why did she sound like this? What was she doing? Was she working for Krampus?

She came into view and the kids' confusion grew even bigger. She was dressed in some black, leather outfit that was barely hiding her waist and chest. She had black gloves on her hands and back boots on her legs. She also had black bracelets with spikes on her neck and wrists. But perhaps the most confusing part was the short whip in her hands.

''What is mom doing!? '' Dusk and Ruby were asking themselves this, among other things.

''So, I heard you've been naughty boy this year.'' their mom said with this strange tone in her voice ''Do you have something to say?''

She removed the red ball from their dad's mouth and he said ''Do your worst, bitch!''

Dusk was shocked ''Did dad just call mom the B word!? ''

CRACK!

The kids were snapped from their thoughts by their mother hitting their father with her whip across his chest. He growled in pain (and some other feeling the kids couldn't understand).

''I don't like your tongue, handsome..." the bat said, before getting a strange smile on her face ''But maybe you can put it in good use...''

And with that, she climbed on the bed and spread her legs so that her crotch was in the hedgehog's face. She then unzipped a zipper that was going from the front of her waist, to the back.

''Now lick!'' their mom ordered.

''Lick? But why? '' Ruby was asking herself. She knew there was something in-between the legs, but she didn't know what was it for "Why would anyone want to lick it? ''

But apparently her mom was enjoying it, because after five minutes or so she started crying stuff like ''YES!!!'' and ''OH, I AM GONNA-OOOHHH!''. Ruby was even more confused.

Suddenly, thick liquid started coming out and filled her dad's mouth. It was so much that it soon started streaming from his mouth. Ruby was shoked ''What is this?! Is this what comes out of that hole?! Why is dad eating it?! ''

And the questions would soon be doubled.

''Oh, good boy! Maybe you are not so bad.'' the mother bat said as she came back from whatever state she was in ''Perhaps I should reward you...''

Now it was Dusk's turn to be confused. He watched as his mom returned the red ball in his dad's mouth and then crawled down the bed until she was out of sight.

''Humm nice and big, just like I love 'em!'' the voice of his mother said ''Let's see if I can fit it in my mouth!''

''Fit what in her mouth?! '' the young hedgehog was wondering ''The only thing that mom doesn't have there is the pee-pee. But why would mom want to put it in her mouth!? It's gross!

But his father was apparently enjoying it. He was shaking and making some muffled noises through the ball in his mouth. This continued for ten or so minutes, then the father hedgehog started shaking more violently and muffled some words that the kids understood as 'I am cOming!'

After that he stopped shaking and started breathing heavily. Soon the kids' mom came back to view. She had drops of some white liquid covering her face and chest. She was cleaning the drops with one of her fingers, before licking the said finger.

''What is this and why is mom eating it?! '' Dusk's confusion was full ''It can't be from the pee-pee! Only pee comes out of there, right!? ''

''Mmmm, not bad!'' his mom once again spoke in that strange tone of voice ''This was only to see if you are actually worth the time. And you are!''

After saying that, she looked down and a pleasant smile appeared on her face ''Humm already good to go for the main event? Guess you really are the Ultimate lifeform!''

If everything Dusk and Ruby had witnessed up until now wasn't confusing, what come next definitely was.

Their mother moved her hips so they would be above their dad's waist. The kids couldn't see what had happed, but for some reason their mom cried ''OOOOOHHHHH, YOU ARE SOOOOOO BIG!!!''She then started lifting and then dropping the low part of her body over and over again, crying every time she did so. Their dad was also clearly having the same reaction.

This was enough for Dusk and Ruby. They slowly backed away from the door and returned to Dusk's room. Inside, none of them could understand what had they just witnessed.

''I..suddenly don't want to wait for Santa anymore...'' Ruby said quietly.

''Yeah..me too...'' Dusk responded.

The two then wished each other 'Goodnight' and Ruby returned to her room. Through the rest of the night, the kids didn't dream about gifts and Santa, but about the weird scene they sure weren't supposed to see...

The next morning was Christmas morning and, as always, Shadow and Rouge's family gathered around the Christmas tree to open up their presents. Shadow gifted Rouge the necklace he had seen her eyeing in the mall. Rouge gifted Shadow a book from that Earth fantasy writer he liked so much. It was called 'The Simarinion' or something like that. Both were very happy with their gifts. Especially Shadow, because the last year, Rouge had gifted him a shirt that says 'If you think I am sexy- just look at my wife!'. At least it was matching with Rouge's shirt that had 'I am his wife!' written on it.

Omega got a container of the finest machine oil in the city. He would have been happier if was Blaze's phone number, but he liked his gift nevertheless.

As for the kids, Dusk's gift was a set of action figures of the Deadly six, the only ones missing from his collection. Ruby's gift was the doll house she had been dreaming about for months. And Maria got a new toy that was teaching her about the numbers. The three kids loved their gifts.

But despite everything, Dusk and Ruby couldn't stop thinking about last night. Some part of them was hoping that maybe it was some bizarre dream, but deep down they knew it wasn't. Even though they didn't know what it was they were sure about one thing- they didn't want to see it again. That's why the next Christmas they stayed in their rooms until the morning, and every other Christmas after it.

When Maria became three-years-old, she shared her hopes of seeing Santa, but Dusk and Ruby warned her that she will be eaten by Krampus if she tries. It was a lie, sure, but it was better then seeing whatever they saw.

Unfortunately for Dusk and Ruby, Maria was doomed on losing her innocence in a similar way, but that's a story for another day...
