Seeing Old Friends in the Soul World
And then…..Tony snapped his fingers as he said his famous words of "I am Iron Man." to the Mad Titan, Thanos.
There was a bright white flash of light and everything was gone….
Tony blinked as he sat up. No armor, nor gauntlet, no power, no battlefield….Nothing, just a vast empty place with a hazy orange sky. In fact the ground wasn't even ground, it rippled like water, but it was solid, it didn't make his feet wet, which he was glad for. Everything was organe. He looked ahead and squinted as a figure was coming closer to him. Tony stood up and he walked closer to it.
Wait a second….
He recognized that setting…
It was the cave from Afghanistan….
What the hell was that cave doing here?
He walked even closer to it and gasped as a man was sitting in front of the mouth of the cave, on a small three legged stool.
"Y-Yinsen?" he asked in disbelief
The man turned around and he smiled
"Glad to see you didn't waste your life…."
"Y-Yinsen...I-"
"Hey, you saved the world, you saved the universe, you always made the sacrifice, in end, it ended up being permanent." Yinsen said
"God Yinsen, I wish I could've saved you…" Tony said
"And you did, you freed me from my life and I managed to see my family."
"Wh-what will happen next?"
"I don't know….. It's up to you, whether you stay here or you leave."
"Will I see you again?"
"No, but hey, at least I'm glad my death wasn't for nothing, I was afraid you'd go back to your old ways…"
"Yinsen without you...none of this would've happened, I would've never been Iron Man, I would've never saved the world, I would've never seen what was happening, with me, my weapons, my company. Yinsen you're the reason I changed."
Yinsen smiled
"Thank you Tony." he said as he stood up and offered his hand.
Instead Tony pulled him in for a hug
"No, Yinsen, thank you"
And there was a bright white flash and everything was gone….
