The sun was up, bright and brilliant as it is every morning at eight o'clock. It's rays radiated warmth and light that gently caressed Rose's cheek. A gentle way to wake up the sleeping beauty. A soft moan of grogginess escaped her lips as she slowly sat up and rubbed her eyes.
Today was Friday. No classes or lectures to go to which means she had time today to explore Karakura. Just thought of going on a tour of the town sounded fun and exciting. It would be a good distraction.
After about thirty minutes sitting in bed, Rose finally got up to go make her some coffee and a small breakfast. Scrambled eggs and toast with some Strawberry jam. Simple and easy breakfast that would hold her off until lunch. Once breakfast was fixed and made and the coffee finished brewing, Rose sat down and enjoyed her meal.
After the cleanup, Rose took a shower and and got dressed for the day. It was pretty warm today so she dressed up in a pretty pink sundress with brown sandles. She also put on a matching sun hat to complete the look. Rose smiled as she looked at herself in the mirror, taking a quick selfies for the her social media.
Out the door, Rose went. Karakura was beautiful! Flowers were still in bloom despite fall approaching. She did not live to far from the park in her neighborhood. Families were out enjoying picnics and the play ground, children were screaming and laughing with joy as parents or siblings chased them around. The sight was utterly heartwarming for Rose.
Continuing pass the neighborhood park, Rose was in awe with her surroundings. Trees were still a nice, bright green with hints of yellows and oranges mixed in, the smell of freshly cut grass and the rain from last night. Deeper into the town she went, the more businesses she saw. A farmer's market seemed to be happening today.
Vendors were lined up all along the main street of Karakura. Fruits, vegetables, jewelry, clothing, shoes, etc were everywhere! It seemed the town was preparing for some autumn festival of some sort. Rose continued on, exploring each and every vendor. Here and there she brought fruits, a couple pieces of fall clothing, some cool nick- nacs, and some stationary items.
Further down the shopping portion of the farmer's market were the food vendors. After being in the shopping vendors for a couple hours, it was a little after lunch time and Rose was hungry. Everything around her smelled divine. Her stomach growled angrily, demanding to be satisfied. With so many choices to choose from, how was she supposed to decide?!
The first vendor she approached had Yakitori know as grilled chicken skewers. They looked delicious and Rose couldn't wait nor decide what she wanted. She paid for the yakitori and began eating. If all the vendors were this delicious, Rose's wallet was going to be in big trouble.
Six thirty had arrived before Rose knew it. It was about time for her to hurry home before the sun got any lower. She took the same route back yet something was different, off.
An ominous, sad aura just filled the air. It was like someone or something was suffering. Rose picked up her pace a little bit. She didn't know what was going but it made her uncomfortable. Suddenly, a piercing, horrific cry filled the air, startling Rose causing her to almost drop everything she was carrying. The ground began to shake as if something huge was stepping her way.
"What the hell is going on?" Rose whispered, terrified as she slowly backed way. In a blink of an eye, a huge skull faced monster appeared. Its face was the purest of whites, soild and in the shape of some kind of animal. A horse? Maybe a deer? Rose really couldn't make it out. The rest of its body was muscular and the blackest of black. In the center of its chest though was a hole that you could see right through.
Rose couldn't believe what she was witnessing. She told herself that it had to be a dream and that this wasn't real. Hearing that blood curdling again snapped Rose back to reality as the monster began to reach for her. Her face turned pale white.
' This was it. This is how I'm going to die?' Rose thought to herself.
Dropping everything in her hand, Rose began to run for it but it was too late. The creature swiftly grabbed her and lifted her off the ground. The shock began to take over. She couldn't scream or cry of help. She was struck by fear. She spent her last day on Earth comfortably. Rose closed her eyes and she anticipated her death.
"ICHIGO!" Screamed a female voice, snapping Rose's eyes wide open. She looked toward the direction of the voice and spotted two figures running toward her. One was a shorter, black hair woman wearing a grey high school uniform. The other was a tall, orange haired male wearing all black attire similar to a samurai outfit. He was carrying a large black blade in his right hand.
Before Rose could blink the male vanished and reappeared next to the arm that had captured her. He swiftly and precisely cut off the monsters arm. Rose felt its grips loose and gasped for air. She was about 50 feet off the ground and didn't think for second that she was about to fall to her death. Before she could even utter a scream, her orange haired hero grabbed her they were suddenly on the ground next to the short haired woman.
"Are you okay?" Spoke the woman but Rose didn't hear her. Voices and the monsters screams began to grow quieter, Rose was losing consciousness. She took one last look at her savior and utter the words:
"Pumpkin head." Then everything went black.
