I was met in the middle of sewing on some cotton lining in my newly made winter jacket, the traditional tinker fairy green, when I was met with a knock on the door and I jump.

"Who is it?" I ask, starting hide my things.

"It's Tink, " She answers. I breath a sigh of relief as I tell her to come in. She hurries in, so fast I only have time to tell that it's sunset. She holds a wing shaped book to her chest, excitement in her eyes. "Hiccup, I need your help. What are doing?" She asked, noticing my new jacket. I bark out a laugh.

"The same thing you're planing to do, I'm sure." I finish sewing the cotton on and lift up my jacket. Tink marvels at it, the shows me the book excitedly.

"Listen, this book tells me about sparkling wings."

"That's great!" She actually found something.

"Yeah, it was, until I saw this." She opened the book to the sparkling wings page, it was eaten up.

"Stupid bookworms, " I mutter.

"Yeah. Now, the only way to find out about it is to ask the Keeper. The one who wrote the books."

"Who, I'm guessing, lives in the Winter Woods." She nods. I sigh. "You know, what we're doing is stupid. We were lucky to not get in trouble the first time."

"And yet, we can't stay away." To that, I can't argue. So, since I was finished with my stuff, I helped with hers. We were hard at work making her outfit. I worked on her jacket while she worked on her boots and fuzzy earmuffs. It was about an hour before we were done. She tried everything on and looked herself over. Once she was satisfied, she turned and made to fly, obviously forgetting her wings were covered. "Agh! Can't fly." I laugh. I'm glad our plan lets someone else do the flying for us.

"Tink, come on!" I whisper-shout to her as I start to sneak out of our hiding spot. Clank and Bobble and Jamie and Fishlegs had just checked this basket, so we had to move fast. Without a sound, I pulled a small grappling hook attached to a rope out of my satchel. Quickly, I tossed the hook toward the top of the basket and it caught hold. Holding back a shout of triumph, I began to climb up and into the basket, Tink close behind. We was so close to getting a ride to the Winter Woods!

"Tink? Hiccup?" Clank called to us.Uh oh.We got caught. This isn't good. We both slid down.

"We already checked that basket, " Bobble said, clearly thinking we were helping them prepare.

"Right. Uh…" I tried to think of a good excuse. I'm not the best at lying.

"Why are you dressed all cozy?" Clank asked us. Tink took a deep breath in before answering.

"We're going to the Winter Woods." They both gasped.

"The Winter Woods?" jamie practically screamed, earning a shush from Tink and I. Thankfully, Fairy Mary and were busy on the other side of the factory, counting the last batch of baskets. jamie dropped his voice to a whisper. "The Winter Woods?" I was about to explain when suddenly a loud horn sounded. The snowy owls.

"We have to hurry, " I tell Tink and start climbing. I was able to make it in before they started moving. Tink, however, had to run to catch up. When she got near enough to the top, I held out my hand to pull her the rest of the. She took it, and I was just barely able to get her in and let the rope drop to the ground.

"Hiccup! Tink! Wait!" Bobble called to us as they started flying after us.

"You can't cross the border. Your wings!" Clank said to us.

"Don't worry, " I said back.

"They're in our coats!" Tink finished for me.

"Does this have to do with the-" Clank was startled by an owl picking up a basket. "The sparkling." Tink nodded.

"Yes. There's somebody in winter who can tell me what it means." Suddenly, Fairy Mary voice rang out.

"Clank! Bobble! Jamie! fishlegs! omething wrong with that basket?" Tink and I ducked down so we couldn't be seen. The two stammered for an answer. Bobble gave us a nervous glance that I returned with pleading eyes.

"We just have do this, " Tinkerbell pleaded. Another owl picked up another basket. So close. We were so close.

"Please, " I asked one last time.

"Uh, no. Everything is, uh, fine, " Bobble said, chuckling nervously. Tink and I breathed a sigh of relief. Clank: played it off as being sad to see it go.

"Oh! Honestly. Let it go!" Fairy Mary said, exasperated. They did so as we started to go up to the tower. I peeked over as we got to the top.

"Uh oh, " I muttered, seeing what owl will be picking us up.

"What?" Tink whispered as I ducked back down.

"It's the new owl."

"Uh oh, " She repeated. A new owl wouldn't be as steady when picking up a heavy basket as the other, more experienced owls. I hoped the bird wouldn't drop us. A moment later, the young owl flew past and grabbed the handles of our basket. He wobbled a little. The he flapped his wings hard, trying to keep up with his brothers. Tink smiled as I let loose a breath. We were on our way... And heading straight for a wall! Tink and I braced for an impact that never came. Luckily the owl pulled up just in time. I fought the urge to laugh in triumph. Tink looked over towards Clank and Bobble once more before ducking back down.

The moment we crossed over, a burst of cold air hit us hard. I shivered and opened my eyes. We were in winter. Yes! The snowy owl flew on at top speed. We held on tight to the basket, peeked over the side, and watched as a world of white whizzed past us. Winter wasincredible! We dipped under a sparkling ice bridge and then pulled up high over a beautiful snowy valley. My breath came in short puffs of frosty air. It was like nothing I had ever seen or felt before. No stories about the Winter Woods could have prepared me for this.

"We made it, " I muttered. Tink had tears in her eyes, most likely from the sheer joy she was feeling.

"Yeah, " She said back to me.

"Welcome back, " two male fairies voice said. Tink and I ducked down, hiding from view. Luckily, they didn't see us and continued to talk to the owl. "You ready for the drop off?" The owl squawks. "Come on, you did it yesterday." I could tell they was one of the animal fairies in these woods. "You'll be fine." A confident squawk. "Alright then, here we go." As we watched, the winter animal fairy flew ahead and spiraled down to a hilltop covered in snow. I realized that the owls were going to drop the baskets onto a long icy slide that would take them to a factory similar to the basket depot back in Tinkers' Nook. Tink and I gulped. This was going to be a bumpy ride.On the fairy's signal, the owls swooped forward one by one and let go of their baskets. Our basket lurched to one side as the owl got ready to release it.

I was thrown against the edge as Tink held on to the other, and accidentally hit the snowflake release lever. Oh no. Instantly, the trapdoor at the bottom of his basket sprang open. Tink's satchel started to slide toward it. Quickly, she snatched it up. But the basket rocked to and fro and she started to roll toward the open trapdoor herself. Holding onto one of the woven slates, I grabbed her ankle. I pulled her up with all my strength. She had managed to grab her satchel and put it around her as I closed the basket.

"Thanks, " Tink breathed.

"Anytime, " I said. But apparently, we weren't out of trouble yet. The owl had been thrown off balance by our tumbling. Startled, he accidentally released the basket too soon and it careened out of control. We didn't even try to hide our screams, since the other fairies were panicking and yelling. Our basket slid down the chute and smashed into a pile of bins already loaded with snowflakes. Frosty crystals flew everywhere as our basket rolled to a stop. We remained perfectly still, lest the winter fairies notice us.

We couldn't see anything from where we were, but I could tell we made a mess. After a few moments, Tink and I gathered up our stuff. I had everything, but Tink was missing her book. I spotted it when I peeked around the basket and pointed it out to Tink. Just then, a large shadow passed overhead. two masses snowy owl whooshed by, and two powerful-looking fairies wearing a cape leapt down to the ground, the sparrow man was He was taller than hand-sized with a slender but muscular build, fair skin, brown eyes, pointy ears and long silver hair that he wears in kind of a low ponytail.he was wearing a teal sleeveless suit, high leaf boots, and snowy owl-feathered cape, the other was a girl she had Slender, fair skin, light dusting of freckles, rosy cheeks, thin pink lips, long white hair tied into two braids she also had a red streak in her hair she also wore a short sleeve light blue t-shirt with a dark teal vest, dark blue pants, light teal shoes, she was also wearing a snowy owl-feathered cape,

"Lord Milori, Lady Anna, " The black haired, winter animal fairy said. That had to be the Lord and Lady of Winter Fawn had told us about. The two who had made the rule those fairies couldn't cross the border. Now we really needed to stay hidden.

"And what happened here?" Lord Milori spoke.

"A bit of a bumpy landing. It's only his second drop-off." The owl gave the lord a sheepish grin. I have to say, that owl was cute.

"As long as the basket made it, I'd say he did just fine." Lord Milori said As Lord Milori and lady anna and Sled were talking, Tink and I moved the basket closer to the book to get it back.

"How was the crossing?" lady anna ask,

"Four bunnies, two weasels, and a marmot." sled said,

"And they all crossed safely?" Lady anna asked,

"Come on, just a little closer." i said,

"Yes, I met up with them on the north side." the fairy with brown hair said,

"The snowflakes are looking quite beautiful." lady anna said,

"i agreed." Lord Milori said,

"No two alike, " a female fairy with white hair chuckled, Tink tried to reach the wing book with her foot, but it was too far away. She stretched just a little bit more and accidentally knocked the book with her toe.

"No, no, no, " I mumbled.

"Ambitious, " lady anna said before the book slid right into her shoes. I pulled Tink into hiding so she didn't see us. "Hmm," I heard her muse. "Now that is odd." Tink smacked her hand against her head. "It must have been left in the basket by accident. Return this to the Keeper." Tinkerbell and I gasped. The Keeper. We just had to follow that fairy. "He can send it back to the warm side with his next delivery." Once they was left, we saw the black haired animal fairy fly off. We quickly checked to see if anyone was looking this way, then we hurried after him.

We followed him all the way to the Hall of Winter, as shown by signs on the way. I listened carefully so I could tell when there was a opening. It sounded like he was speaking with the Keeper now.

"It must have come from the warm side. In one of the baskets, " He said. I heard the flutter of wings as he said thanks. Once he was out of sight, Tink and I quietly stepped inside the chamber. The floor was made entirely of ice. I could barely stand up. Tink was having a hard time as well, so we used each other to balance. As we steadied ourselves, I noticed a soft purring noise coming from behind us. I turn my head slightly to see an enormous snowy lynx was just inches from my face! I clapped my hand over my mouth and let go of Tink, backing away.

But when the creature snored, I realized it was asleep. As I sighed with relief, Tink came walked towards me and slipped on the ice. I went to help her but lost my footing as well and fell flat on my face.Ow!I lifted up my head in time to see Tink slide down into the frozen depths of the hall. I got up to chase her and ended up slipping and followed her. We kept sliding and sliding, until finally I crashed into a large stack of ice books against the wall. Tink was able to stop herself with her feet before she hit the wall. I rubbed my arm where it collided with the wall.

"Ow." I didn't bother to hold it in this time, but I did whisper it. This wasn't going as well as I'd hoped. I could tell Tink felt the same. We staggered to our feet and looked around and I saw took my breath away. We were in a grand library, bigger than any room I've had ever seen. Thousands of books lined the wall, and stacks of frosty parchments towered in every corner. Several large ice tablets teetered on the edges of their shelves, held in place by even more books and papers piled on top.It was incredible!Across the room, I spotted the wing book that the fairy had dropped off and began to inch over to it. Tink saw what I was doing and followed suit. Suddenly a short, elderly fairy walked in. He had tousled white hair and small, round spectacles. I could hear him mumbling to himself.

"That's the end of that chapter. Boy, that's a beauty. Flora and Fauna of the Fairies, " He said. That's gotta be the Keeper,I thought. I can't believe it. We had found him! I high fived Tink as we carefully made our way over to him. "Put a period there, then we are pretty much done. Wait. I forgot to number the pages. Oh! I'm going to have to start all over on this large book." I winced. Finding out that, on a large project, you forgot to do one little thing and had to start all over was never an encouraging thought. Tink was just about to step out from behind the ice books when two young winter fairies came whizzing by. A boy and a girl.

"Keeper. Keeper!" The girl said, barely containing her excitement.

"Yes, what…"

"The most amazing thing happened," The boy inturpted. "You'll never believe it."

"Okay, I'm coming. I'm coming."

"I've never felt anything like it! My friends didn't believe me, well, except Jack because he was there, but how could they because it's so..." The girl trailed. This sounded very familiar. And something in her voice sounded familiar, too.

"Slow down. I can only listen so fast." As we listened, I saw a light coming from her coat. She noticed it to and looked over her shoulder. Her wings is shimmering so brightly I could see them right through her coat.

"Yesterday, at the border, my wings. They actually… they lit up." She gasped. "It's happening again!" I could tell the that the Keeper was intrigued. I was too. There had to be some connection between the two fairies if it was happening to them both. Tink took off her coat and drifted out into the open. I picked it up and followed her. It was as if she had an invisible rope tugging at her.

"Oh… Well, I'll be a yeti's uncle, " The Keeper said as soon as he saw Tink. I gasped when the girl fairy whose wings were lit up and... They looked exactly like Tink's. The fairy turned around and I saw her face. It was, well, her face was the exact same shape and size as Tink's. The fairy had short, silvery hair and ice-blue eyes. Her dress was made from a delicate material that glistened like frost in the sunlight. The winter fairy turned fully and stared at Tinker Bell. They began drifting toward one another, that invisible rope tugging at them again. "In all my years." The Keeper kept looking back and forth between the two, admiring their wings.

"Your wings, " The two fairies said. "They're sparkling."

"Like yours, " Tink breathed. The Keeper laughed.

"I've written about the sparkling, but I've never seen the sparkling with my own peepers!" He laughed harder as he flew off. Then he remembered that we were here, came back and asked us to follow him. I laughed and found that someone else was laughing with me. As we walked, I turned to see the fairy that the sparkle fairy came in with. I'm ashamed to admit I forgot about him.

That really is bad. But not unexpected.

Stop interupting!

His hair was a brilliant shade of white that had silvery tint to it. His eyes were a bright blue and his smile as the Keeper ushered us through the vast hall. He pointed his cane toward a great room with a giant snowflake pattern on the floor.

"Now, step the footsies on the bubble, " He told the two girls. "And you two as well, " He turned to the boy fairy and me. Jack. Jack was his name. The girl winter fairy mentioned it. I placed Tink's coat on top of The Keepers cane and walked onto the snowflake. Jack and I stayed off to the side as the girls flew to the middle. The Keeper tapped his cane on the floor, and the room went dark. Instantly, the snowflake we were standing on lit up and rose off the ground. Amazed, we all held perfectly still.

"Just put your wings into the light!" He called to the girls when we got to the top. "You boys stand back!" Together, the girls lifted their wings into the sunlight streaming down from an opening in the ceiling. The rays shone through their wings and an incredible thing happened. The light began projecting images from their pasts on the icy chamber walls. The first picture was of Big Ben, the clock tower in London.

"The mainland, " Tink muttered. The scene switched to a baby laughing for the first time. We watched, utterly speechless, as the laugh split in two and landed on a dandelion. Two wisps from the flower took flight and danced across a night sky. They floated past the Second Star to the Right and headed straight toward Never Land. But before they could reach the Pixie Dust Tree, one got caught on a branch. The other traveled on. A strong gust of wind came and blew the tangled wisp in the opposite direction, toward the Winter Woods.

"Oh, no," I whispered. Images of both fairies arriving in Pixie Hollow appeared. One in the warm seasons at the base of the Pixie Dust Tree and the other fairy in the center of the Winter Woods.

"Hello, " The warm fairy said and not a moment later, the winter fairy spoke.

"Hello." Tink and i started to put it together at the same time I did.

"4 fairies born of the same laugh. So that means-"

"You're my-" The two winter fairies trailed.

"So we're…Sisters and brothers, " we said together.

"Yes!" The Keeper shouted, making me jump. When did he get here?I ended up almost falling off, but Jack grabbed my hand and pulled me up. He made sure I had my footing before letting go of my hand. I found myself wanting his hand to stay. "And your wings are identical. That is why they sparkle, " The Keeper finished. Turning our backs to each other, me and tink and other fairies lined up our wings. I was right in my first assessment. our patterns marched perfectly. A bright spark of light suddenly burst forth when oirnwings touched and created a beam that shined all the way to the ceiling.

"Jingles!" me and tink exclaimed at the same time. I almost jumped off the snowflake by accident again, but Jack put a hand on my back. I was partly glad when he deemed I was too clumsy to stand without support and left his hand on my back. I took the opportunity of him being so close to study him. He had a little under an inch on me, if not a full one. I couldn't tell if it was because we were in a place made entirely of ice or if it was him that was so cold. He caught me staring and smirked. I shuddered, but not from the cold. I was brought back to reality by the girl winter fairy's gasped.

"What?" Tink asked as the girl reached into her pocket and pulled out two identical pom-poms.

"I usually just wear them at home!" She said as she put them on her shoes. Tink laughed and then shivered.

"Tink, you should probably put your coat back on, " I tell her.

"Oh, right, " She said as the Keeper handed it to her."And who are you?" The fairy asked me as she fluttered over to me."Oh, Hiccup, " I say, stretching out my hand for her to shake. She did.

"Periwinkle," She said. Before I could get asked anything, two voice bellowed through the chamber.

"Hello. Keeper, are you in?" Uh oh. I knew that voice.

"Yipping yetis, it's Lord Milori and lady anna!" The Keeper gasped.

"If they sees you two, he'll send you back, " Jack whispered, pulling me away from the edge and towards the middle.

"Keeper? Are you here?" Lord Milori asked again. "Keeper where are you?" lady anna asked,

"Don't worry. I'm going to take care of this, " The Keeper said to us as we crouched in the middle.

"Where are you?" lady anna called out,

"Ah. Come back later!" He called, leaning over the side.Like that'll help.

"Keeper?" He leaned back.

"Whoa, boy. Can't get that one back."

"me and anna need to speak with you. It's important." Lord Milori called out,

"As long as we stay here, Lord Milori and lady anna won't be able to see us," I whispered to them. They all silently agreed as the Keeper flew down.

"I'm right here, Lord Milori and lady anna, " The keeper greeted them.

"Did you receive the wing book?" Milori asked.

"You know, once upon a time, you'd stop by just to say hello and howdy-do." the keeper sighed.

"I'm sorry. Hello." Lord Milori said

"Howdy-do?" the Keeper did Another sigh.

"Howdy-do. This book has me worried. What if a warm fairy brought it here?" Lord Milori spoke, Jack tensed at his words.

"Well, that might be nice, then, meeting a warm fairy. Especially one with such good taste in books." the keeper said

"It's too cold." Lady anna said

"Maybe if they were wearing a coat, or one of them little sweater vests. They're nice." The keeper said

"I'll remind you. Crossing the border is forbidden." Lord Milori spoke , i could tell that he and Lady anna was losing their patience.

"There was a time when it wasn't." The keeper said, I exchanged a confused glance with Tink. There was?

"The rule is there to keep the fairies safe. That will never change." Lord Milori said,

"But I-" the keeper said, but Lady anna cut him off.

"If a warm fairy or two comes here, you will send them back." she said in a very serious way

"Of course." I bit back my groan. We just got here.

"Thank you." Once we were sure he was gone, the snowflake descended.

"Well, you heard Lord Milori and lady anna. they said you must go back home. Of course, they didn't say when." we hugged and cheered, and I let out shout of celebration! Jack laughed

"Now, listen, you four, it gets colder after the dark, so it's best to get Hiccup and Tinkerbell home before the first moonlight."

"Thank you, North, " Jack said. I gave him a confused look that made his cheeks pink.

"North?" I asked.

"That's his real name, " Periwinkle answered.

"It's what my friends call me, " North said. Tink shook his hand and I made to do the same as we said our thanks. He made sure we called him North. I interpreted it as a sign of friendship. We made small talk as we walked to the door.

"So, um, we're frost fairies," Periwinkle gestured to herself and Jack. "We frost things."

"Oh. me and hicc Tinker we-" Tink started, but Periwinkle finished for her.

"Tinker things."

"Yep. I even made these boots. Hiccup made the coat."

"Hiccup, do you mind if I ask you a few questions?" He called from the other room.

"Uh, sure?" I said, already regreting this. "You two go on ahead, I'll catch up later." I told the two girls and Jack.

"Oookay. I'll see you guys later, " Tink said, waving. Once they leave, I turn to Jack and raise an eyebrow. He shrugged.

"What? You need someone to help you get around. Besides, " He lowered his voice. "north can be a handful on his own."

"I heard that, " north said coming up from behind Jack, causing him to jump. north and I laughed.
