Hey there hunters! And welcome back to Monster (Girl?) Hunter World!

We now have a newest addition to the Pack and that is the Great Jagras, next will be the Pukei-Pukei! Now I'm still unsure as to give the Boss Elder dragons the same treatment. I'm just unsure, however someone in the review section held a good point as to the reason why the should...Like I said I just don't know.

Anyway, that's pretty much I all I have for an AN here.

Truly getting somewhere

I had walked back inside with the proper armour for our Jagras addition who was given the name Janet so that we didn't address her as her species name. I had used the materials from her previous body much like I had done with AJ so that she was clothed and not just in some makeshift clothing, and from what I had been told from the second fleet master the materials I had given him were quite unique compared to the other parts he has been given by other hunters. Maybe the necklace had something to do with it because it's all I have got at the moment.

Anyway I had helped our new addition with her new clothes/armour so that she'd be more protected from whatever harm that could come her way.

I had explained to her what AJ had told me before she woke up, that forming a pack will guarantee the survival of all three of us, however the Jagras was hesitant and I could tell AJ was starting to regret telling me the idea of hers.

"Does she have to be in it?" Janet asked referring to AJ who had gotten ticked real easy.

"Got a problem with that ya Glutton?" AJ Growled.

"No, just the fact that you seem to think you're the boss of every monster in the forest. But I Know you aren't you can't even beat a flyer". The Jagras said as a matter of fact.

"When did you get so bold runt!?" AJ stood as her nose bone began flare up and had small embers coming out of it causing her to cough twice.

"Just now seeing that you not that much bigger than me anymore". Janet answered as they both got into each other's faces.

'If this keeps up they'll end up killing each other for good this time'. I thought on the sidelines as I had to come up with something before it gets out of hand.

"You really want to test me? Because I can assure you I won't be held responsible of what I'm going to do to you". AJ growled.

"Pft, out of all the chances I had last time, I didn't win but now I got a real good chance of knocking you down a few pegs!" Janet snarled. "Besides, I can finally get some payback you overgrown-,"

"THAT'S ENOUGH!" I yelled at them as I slammed my Greatsword into the ground which shut them up immediately getting their undivided attention, and even AJ's nose bone was retracted. "Let's get something straight here, and I'm only going to say it once to you two. So listen well". I stated in an autoreactive tone showing I wasn't going to put up with their bickering. "Janet you should know better to walk into someone's territory knowing you can't win. That should be clear to you from the first few attempts". I scolded as she looked away knowing I was right which mad AJ smirk. "Oh don't think you're getting off scot free AJ". I said to her which made her snap to me.

"What?!"

"AJ you said to me that's you'd follow me due to me earning your respect in our fight. Now, with Janet here I can't help but think that you two will rip each other apart when my back is turned". I stated to her. "Adding on to that what's stopping you from doing that? Hmm?" I then look at both of them. "Now let's be clear, both of you fight in turf wars to determine who gets what. But that's gone, you're on MY turf now. And you both know it any fighting between any of you or any other members that we come across, there's going to be consequences and I don't want to go there".

"SHE STARTED IT!" They said pointing at each other.

"I DON'T CARE WHO STARTED IT I'LL FUCKING FINISH IT!" I shot back at them making them reel back at my outburst. I took a dep breath before speaking again. "You two are not your original monster forms anymore, you're scaled down to my level of height and all that". I said as I looked at Janet. "Janet, you can't swallow an Aptonoth or a Kestodon so you can roll over your enemies anymore". I then looked at AJ. "AJ, you're not a huge Brute Wyvern anymore, with your flame sac damaged you won't last long out there, even with a Switch Axe". I pointed out to them saying that if they go out now they'll most likely lose their lives and it's something I don't want. "Listen girls, I get that you two have some history and none of it is good. But if you want to survive out there in the new world…put aside your differences and work together. It's like you said AJ, a pack needs to work together in order to survive". I stated as I said the exact same words she said to me.

AJ Sighed knowing I was right and nodded in response.

"Look all I ask of you two is to try to work together so you two can survive. Just try to not get under each other's skin ok?" I asked them sincerely. The two looked at each other knowing that my mind isn't going to change, but they didn't glare at each other, but they knew that it wasn't going to be simple.

"We'll try, Eric". Janet said as AJ nodded in response.

"Ok then, it's all I ask girls". I replied as I sheathed my sword on my back. "C'mon, the Commander would probably be wondering what's going on in here. Better let him know everything has been resolved for the most part". I said to them as they followed me out of the room. I then had the two of them follow me to the meeting table where the commander was and he had noticed our presence and had his attention.

"I would guess you have everything under control I assume Eric?" He asked with his arms crossed.

"As under control as I could get it sir". I answered honestly.

"Alright then, the second group tasked with rebuilding the camp in the Ancient Forest has already left as I'm sure you are aware of. However That Pukei-Pukei is still around and we won't be able to send the scholars out until it is dealt with. I'm sure your growing group is up for it I assume?" He asked me.

"We'll get it done commander". I answered as the commander nodded in response. As we then made our way back to the smithy in order to give Janet a new weapon.

With everything from our inventory restocked, we were now walking to the last place we had saw the Pukei-Pukei. I looked around before turning my attention to the girls, Janet had chosen a Sword and Shield for her choice in weapon due to it being simple to use and easier to master than the 13 other weapons.

"See if there's any clues as to where the monster might be ok?" I said to them and they nodded in response as we spread out to cover more ground and see if there was any traces of the monster. My Scoutflies then came out of their little cage and I then looked to my left and saw several feathers on the ground, I walked up to them and picked one up to have a closer look. The Scoutflies then began to lead the way as to where the Pukei-Pukei went and smirked in response. "There you are". I muttered. "Girls over here!" I called to them as they then came from their spots and raced over to me, I pointed the way the scout flies were heading. "This way, c'mon". I said to them as they followed me to where the monster is.

We continued to follow the scout flies until their colour changed from green to red making us stop in our tracks.

"What happened?" AJ asked me.

"We're not alone here". I said to them as they then unsheathed their weapons. I looked around to see if the monster was anywhere but a roar to my right had answered my question. I saw the Bird Wyvern on a ledge as it jumped down in front of us, clearly not happy about us being in its territory. "Get ready!" I called to the girls as I pulled my great Sword of my back.

The Pukei-Pukei spat its poisonous gunk at us but I merely blocked it with my sword preventing it from getting all over me as AJ swung her axe at its head which made it stagger and turn its attention to her, but it was distracted long enough for Janet to strike its legs with her sword which made the monster lose its footing.

"Go! Don't give it room to breathe!" I called as the girls kept wailing at the monster to weaken its hide for some real damage. I raised my blade before bringing it down on the head breaking it in the process, the Pukei-Pukei got back up and spat its gunk at us knocking us all over giving it a chance to run, but AJ was quicker.

"Where do you think you're going?!" She said as her nose bone flared up showing she was pissed. She ran up to it and grabbed its tail and then landed on the back of the monster, halting its retreat. It tried to shake her off but AJ had an iron grip and kept holding on. Janet climbed the ledge that the monster was on earlier and leapt off it and was holding onto the tail of the monster.

All I could do is wait until they topple it over or have it stop moving, because the Pukei-Pukei is moving around too much for me to get a good swing from my Great Sword to land a solid hit so I took the time to drink an antidote to cure my poison. As soon as it stops moving AJ unsheathes her Switch Axe to sword mode and begins an elemental discharge of fire before exploding toppling the monster over. Janet had already jumped off the monster and began to hack away at it much AJ is with her sword. The Pukei-Pukei got back up and swatted its tail at the two of them as it them made a second attempt to flee and it was successful. The two of them felt weak as they tried to get back up but I raced over to them and noticed that they were still poisoned.

"You girls should drink an antidote to get your strength back". I suggested to them.

"Which one is it?" Janet asked me.

"The blue one". I answered as I began sharpening my sword as the two of them began to cure themselves of the poisonous substance from their bodies. As my blade was sharpened I stowed my weapon back on my back and noticed that AJ and Janet were cured of the poison.

"Nice work in toppling it over you two". I praised them as they had smiles on their faces. "But I doubt that Pukei-Pukei will go down without a fight".

"They usually don't when it comes to smaller threats, but bigger ones, they don't normally try. Unlike someone I know". AJ said referring to Janet who glared at her.

"AJ what did I say?" I scolded who looked away knowing getting me mad is a bad idea. "And yes I get it, didn't need to be said but we got the point". I stated as the Scoutflies then began to track the monster once again.

We followed the Scoutflies through area 7 and all the way to area 8 where it was eating some scatter nuts on a vine, it looked in our direction and roared, letting us know it was still up for a fight. As its tongue came out of its mouth it reared up and charged at us but Janet and I blocked it in our own way as AJ moved to avoid it. Janet leapt back before leaping forward towards the Pukei-Pukei and slashing its head, she then leapt into the air and slammed down on it shield first making it flinch giving me the opening I needed to bring my blade down on the head once more. However once it recovered it roared into the air before turning to Janet.

In other words, it didn't take took kindly to the hit on the head she gave it.

Janet was ready for it to strike as she had her shield out in defence but AJ was quicker and slammed her axe into the head of the Pukei-Pukei making it stumble back.

"Girls that's your opening go for it!" I called to them as they ran towards the monster, Janet strike the legs making it fall over and AJ slashed it with her weapon's sword mode. "Move, move!" I called to them.

"Janet move!" AJ said to the Jagras as she knew what was coming next and the Jagras complied as I climbed up a ledge, then leapt off it and brought my blade down on the monster and rolling back to get some distance. But the Monster merely roared before falling limp. I waited a second for it to get back up but I sat down to catch my breath as the girls came up to me.

"Well, I say for a first hunt together…you two did alright huh?" I said between breaths as the two of them looked at each other and from my perspective they seemed to agree.

"Yea, I guess we did huh?" Janet said.

"I mean, sure I don't see why not?" AJ added with a shrug. I merely rolled my eyes at her answer amused at her attitude, I then looked at the Pukei-Pukei and walked up to it. Like the last few times I checked to see if there was any organs of the sort behind the skin and found none. I took my knife and cut through the skin and I now know this isn't a coincidence anymore.

Inside was a girl, that wasn't as big as AJ but was definatly taller than Janet. Her head had the feathers of the monster which acted as her hair. Her arms had the monster's wings, which were retracted but still visible, she still had human-like hands as well. Other than that she still has the traits of both monster and human.

"Was it like this when you two found me?" Janet asked us.

"I asked the very same thing. And yea pretty much". AJ answered.

"Adding onto that, we can't leave her like this". I added to their conversation as I began cutting apart the corps to make some clothing like the last few times.

"How many more are out there do you think?" Janet asked us both as AJ shrugged not knowing the answer.

"Possibly many others if you two and the Pukei-Pukei are any indication. But we'll figure it out when we get back ok? Right now we need to report to the commander and take the Pukei-Pukei back to Astera". I stated as I lifted the new girl up in my arms as then began to make our way back to HQ.

There we have it folks, the Pukei-Pukei has been added! Now next up is the Wildspire Waste!

Now as to why I gave Janet a Sword an shield is in my mind the Great Jagras is the easiest monster to fight and I gave her easiest weapon to use and master. Now As in regards to the Pukei-Pukei I have already decided on her weapon, but I have to ask what monster could best utilise a Gunlance? Let me know.
