Authors note:Hey everyone ! Hope you like this so far if you're wondering why this is mostly hiccup it's because I made my video in hiccups perspective.If you haven't seen the video I'm talking about itwill be at the end of the next chapter :D if you have then you know the ending xD anyways enjoy!

Hiccups POV

"Ugh it's not suppose to be like this, it's not suppose to be me "

I said to myself. I couldn't get the picture of Meridas reaction out of my head. The hope but also crushed look. But I couldn't give into my feelings, not without feeling guilty. Way before this we were planning an attack on the highlanders because we had thought they had stolen some of our dragons and keeping something captive of ours, having leverage on us, until we gave them what they wanted. So one of our council members suggested we steal the princess and do the same, and it would have gave us the upper hand, higher than there's. I was in charge of the order since my father was gone and I was opposed to it but my mind suddenly agreed, she wouldn't be hurt we would just hold her locked up one of our cabins. But before I gave the order one of our scouts came and we found out it wasn't them. I felt horrible. I realized how horrible it was to think of taking someone and holding them captive and against there will, that would be barbaric! That would be enough to prove that what they say/think about us was real.

"Hiccup !" Tuffnut shouted breaking me out of thought.

"Not now Tuffnut" I said as he got closer.

"Hey wheres that pretty little princess of yours ?" He said looking around.

"Did you need something ?" I asked avoiding the question.

"Oh yeah your dad needs you, something about war?" He said confused

"What?!" I replied running off to go see what was going on at the building where our council meets and to my surprise there they were talking and there was my father as well.

"Hiccup ! Son come in quick." My father gestured with his hand to come closer.

"Dad, Tuffnut said you were talking about, war?" I asked

"I, It might just come to that. We found some ships hidden on a place in ther island and they aren't any of our allies' boats" he then turns to the council "WE NEED TO FIND WHOS HERE! I need to know who dare passes Berk without our knowledge an what they're takin' !" The council all nodded and went their own way to find out.

My father then turns to me. "Hiccup it's dangerous right now keep an open eye out son, and not let Merida out of your sight she's a tough girl but we can't take any chances" he said as he patted my shoulder.

I began to head outside.

"Ugh why does all this have to happen in one night" I said as I rubbed my head with both my hands I couldn't hear myself think.

I Suddenly saw Merida still out. And I rushed over to her.

"Merida what are you-"

"Oh, hiccup, I couldn't sleep..." she replied nervously.

"Oh um you-you shouldn't be out right now it's-um" I kept stubbing on my words, I had so much on my mind, the past, the present. What kinda leader was I?

"Hiccup, are yeu okay?" Merida asked seeing the distressed look on my face.

She got closer and cupped my face with her hand. She was scanning my face with her eyes.

"Mer, I...your the only thing that feels right right now" I said in a sad tone.

she gave me a sad smile.

"Then focus on me, nothin' else. I'm here"

Her words made my worries melt away and as we stood there inches apart looking at each other, my eyes went to her lips and hers to mine and without hesitating our lips met. The feeling was intense like no other. I felt the electricity between us. It was if she broke a spell I had and I could finally breathe. I felt her wrap her arms around my neck she was so gentle, but I wanted more of her touch so I pulled her closer, feeling her heart beat race against mine. I didn't want it to end, it was like I was waiting for this kiss my whole life, for this girl. Her lips were so soft I can feel how much she wanted this also. And then we finally broke the kiss and rested our foreheads against each other she didn't let go of me and continued to stroke her fingers behind my head it and I didn't let go of her either.

"Um..." I chuckled. And she echoed it. And both let out a small laugh. We avoided our eyes for a few seconds before we finally looked at each other. Then Merida began to speak.

"I've never wanted some one they way I want yeu hiccup..yeur different. And I don't care what yeu say I know what I want and what I want is yeu and I know it's crazy but-" I interrupted her with a kiss before she could finish. Then when it broke I continued.

"It's not crazy, I want you too. I'm not letting you go Mer, I'm sorry what I said earlier." I replied.

She smiled at me.

"I'm not goin' anywhere without yeu" she whispered.

"You think it's crazy that we've only known each other for 4 days and-" Merida stoped me with a kiss.

"No...I-I couldn't stop thinkin' of ya after we met" she said sheepishly as her face brushed a bright pink.

I felt a burst of happiness inside when she said that. I brushed a hair strand away that was in the way of her face.

"You were the prettiest girl I had ever seen when you walked into that room, but I thought you were going to attack me" I teased.

She rolled her eyes an laughed.

"I was, until I saw yeu, I didn't want to ruin that pretty face of yours"

"Oh You think my face is pretty?" I teased.

She blushed bright red and pushed me away. I couldn't help but laugh at her reaction. I then reached for her hand and she entwined her fingers in mine staring down at them.

"Yer a tease, ye know that" she said as she caressed my hand then looked up at me through the corner of her eyes.

I pulled her hand up to kiss the back of her hand. She was surprised at the gesture.

"Only to you, mi lady" I said and I looked up at her after. She gave me a small kiss on my cheek as a response. I smiled but then I remembered what was happening and my face became serious.

"What is it?" Merida asked confused about my sudden change of mood.

"I need you to get back to your cabin" I replied in a serious tone

"What? Why?" I asked confused.

"I can't say now but I need you to go there and stay there till I come get you" I said as I cupped her face in my hand while still holding her other hand with my other.

She then grabbed my hand that was touching her face with her free hand.

"Let me stay with yeu" she pleaded.

I smiled at the thought but I didn't want her to feel pressured.

"Mer it's just-" she stopped me before I could finish and she replied like she knew what I was thinking.

"Yeu are no stranger to me hiccup, I feel safer with yeu than anyone else here, yer my husband too remember" she said trying to convince me. I sighed.

"Okay as long as you feel comfortable" I said.

Then we headed to my cabin and she held onto my hand the whole way and didn't let go.

The next morning I woke up on the couch, the sun had woken me up and to my surprise Merida was sleeping next to me their was my fur blanket on us keeping us warm. She looked so peaceful. I couldn't stop staring at her just laying there on me, I never realized she had a few faded freckles above her nose she looked so harmless. There wasn't much room on the couch so she had fallen asleep on top of me resting her head on my chest. I hadn't noticed but she was hugging me also I felt butterflies in my stomach just the thought of how this happened. I had told her she could sleep in my bed and I would take the couch just as the gentleman I was raised to be. She argued about it saying that the couch would be uncomfortable and that it was alright that she trusted me but I insisted and she finally agreed. But I can tell now that all she wanted was me to be beside her.

Sorry this was kinda choppy/fast D: my video doesn't really have a big part on this scene.
