Rose heard the doorbell and looked out the window. She saw a tall young man with longish black hair standing on the porch. She went to open the door.
"Come in," she said.
"Thank you," the young man replied. "I came about your ad. My name is Dimitri Belikov."
"It's nice to meet you," Rose replied. "I'm Rose Hathaway. I need someone to mow the lawn, trim the hedges, and care for the plants. It's part time with irregular hours. I'm afraid I can't pay much."
"That's all right," Dimitri replied. "I have a regular job with Home Depot in their garden department. I'm just looking for some extra cash."
"We might be able to work something out, then," said Rose.
