Marinette's professor had just come around the corner as Marinette emerged from behind the curtain, a bit flustered as she perched her hair in a messy bun and rearranging the ribbons. Absolutely rocking a black leather jacket over a red silk shirt and skin tight black jeans, she kept the boots on from the show.

Stood in front of her was the Agreste she wanted to see. His hand outstretched and his slick silver hair perfectly styled, his mouth curled at the corners.

"Miss Dupain-Cheng," she shook his hand as he addressed her, "I am very impressed by what I have seen during your show." He gestured around him. "My son says you have been doing this for a long time and have great talent-"

The fuck?

"-and he agrees with my decision to offer you an internship studying directly with myself." He had a smirk at the flabbergasted look on Marinette's face. "I didn't want you snared by any of the other houses here, so I apologise for being so blunt and to the point." His voice was velvet soft, but he need not have tried to snatch her before the other's had chance to speak to her, it was him that she wanted to work for.

*internal screams* keep it together Marinette!

"Mr Agreste I am honoured and would love to accept your offer." She said in such a calm manner she even shocked herself. Alya was putting the thumbs up and grinning ear to ear behind him and Marinette suppressed a giggle.

"Splendid, I will have my assistant call you on Monday." With a swift turn on his heel, he had made his way out of the dressing room, now her other friends, who had modelled or had helped put together the production, gathered round Marinette and Alya, all of them were ecstatic and hugging together as a group.

The afternoon had ended in a blur! Making her excuses about having to be in work early the next day, Marinette had left the party early, walking arm in arm with Alya as they headed home.

"So happy for you girl!" She squealed again. "I told you didn't I!" It is true her friend had always believed in Marinette's talent. "I see you were talking to Mini Agreste too today?" She was intrigued now glancing sideways at Marinette, as they walked back towards Marinette's.

"Yeah don't remind me," she rolled her eyes at Alya, even though it had not gone as bad as she had made out.

"Well, now you'll be seeing a lot more of each other I would expect." She chuckled, "better get used to it!"

Marinette had been stood watching the room, absorbing the amazing energy around her, while Alya had disappeared to take a call from Nino as they were about to leave. Adrien had been stood a few feet away and had knocked into her as he was making an exit, spilling her Diet Coke over her jacket and trousers.

"I'm really sorry!" He had apologised to her as she had tried to wipe herself down, at this point Marinette had not even realised who had knocked her.

"It's fine-fine-" Marinette had looked up now, looking straight at him, eyebrows slightly raised, "seriously it's fine." She continued as he had grabbed a few napkins off the table by where her flowers had been sat. He tried to help but to no avail.

He looked over at her flowers, "they're pretty." He commented, then looked back at her. He seemed to be trying to make conversation with her, Marinette softened now looking at her flowers.

"They're beautiful," she gushed and lost herself as she was thinking about Chat. "A very good friend sent them to me," she blushed not looking at Adrien, hand on her chest holding one of the napkins he had handed her.

Adrien noticed her blush and felt heat on his own cheeks, very happy she wasn't looking at him now. He looked her up and down and shifted nervously, they had barely spoke in school, and when they had, it was only out of necessity. She had grown up beautifully, and he had always wanted to know Marinette in his Adrien form.

She caught him, as his eyes had come back up, annoyed a little now as she felt the Diet Coke seeping onto her skin through her tight jeans. It was awkward, she looked at him waiting for him to say something as it would be rude to just turn her back on him. He didn't act like the brat she had believed he was, but then again she had just got the apprenticeship with his dad. Maybe he was trying to make an effort.

Becoming a little bit aware of the awkward silence Adrien went to speak but a confident Marinette spoke for him.

"I suppose I will be occasionally seeing you now that I'm working for your dad?" She made sure her facial expression was friendly now, as she had realised that there was no point in holding a grudge.

"Yes-" he seemed relieved she had spoken "-yes my dad does a lot of work from home so I'll definitely be around." He blushed.

Why the fuck is he blushing? Is he actually shy?

"My dad also has his samples made to my measurements as I model his creations." There was no excitement there when he said this. "If you're working directly with him, as I'm guessing you will be because he couldn't wait to snare you before someone else snapped you up-" This excited Marinette, hearing how her idol couldn't wait to get her to work for him. "-I'll be wearing your designs too." Now he looked excited.

Marinette thought for a moment back to what his father had said to her. "Did you tell him I had great talent?" Intrigued now to hear his answer.

"Of course, you do have great talent-" he was talking with his hands now, this was not the person she thought she had met in school. "-Chloè-"

Bitch.

"-had told me you made your own clothes, and I was impressed. You always looked really good." He smiled, his beautiful smile.

It was now Marinette's turn to blush.

What the fuck is wrong with me?

They had spoke for a little while longer until Alya had come back and reminded her of the time. A hurried goodbye had seen her leave him standing there looking rather gutted, Marinette could not help but wonder if they seriously misjudged him all those years ago.

Now Alya had left Marinette to meet Nino, Marinette realised she had left her flowers on the table.
