Hello, and welcome to my humble story! If you're looking for a story where a ridiculously overpowered futuristic army curb stomp some Roman cosplayers, cross the Gate, and promptly forgets about the reason they're there in the first place (saving the civilians!), then you're at the wrong place.
Because this is about the history of Falmart.
So if you want to know why Emroy and Hardy broke up, the rise and the fall of the Elvish kingdom, how the Sedareans stumbled into Falmart, what the Artic War was about, and more, buckle on your seatbelts! We're now going back in time to the beginning of another universe...
Ps. This story is Non-Canon! Large amount of OCs will appear, but I'll try to stick to the official timeline.
PPs. If you wish for the content of your story (eg. some character that was born five hundred years ago) to be added in this timeline, feel free to PM me.
PPPs. Based on the manga and anime series.
Without further ado, let us begin!
An eternity ago...
A planet is born in the Universe C-523.
Megaannums pass before...
The first bacteria becomes self-aware.
More years go by...
And the first fish crawls onto dry land. Slowly evolving to suit the world, they gain animalistic appearances and characteristics instead of human forms.
Flash forward a few hundred Mellinniums...
And finally, the first elves awake, followed by the dwarves.
And at long last,
The first gods gain consciousness. Spread out across the world, they exist as astral beings existing in the minds of those who believe in them. Not that there is anything smart enough for religious thoughts anyway.
But as the demi-humans and elves and dwarves and goblins grow increasingly intelligent, it wouldn't be long before the astral beings become truly, gods.
IC (Imperial Calendar) -70,000s
From a cave on Alnus hill, a strange, hairy two-legged humanoid stumbles out into daylight.
The Neanderthal frowns at the sky. Something seems off, but his limited brain cells fail to find the difference.
Unknowingly, he was the first living creature to go through a Gate.
This place nice, he thought.
Bring family here, he thought.
Somewhere, a goddess smiled at this interesting new species she brought into her world.
IC -45,000s
The first Gate closed long ago, but enough Neanderthals have entered this world to make a difference. Slowly growing in numbers, their population rose from hundreds to thousands to tens of thousands.
And the gods loved them. Although this new species has neither sharp claws, nor brute strength, nor strong jaws, they have an intelligent mind to think and nimble fingers to craft tools.
And most of all, they pray.
IC -25,000s
Neanderthals evolve into Home-Sapiens, who become the masters of the continent. Spreading out from their original homelands, they start exploring the lands around them, coming into contact with other creatures like goblins, demi-humans, elves, dwarves, etc. It was during this period that humanity showcased its greatest strength.
The ability to adapt.
Learning how to farm from the elves, crafting weapons like the dwarves, stealing fighting techniques from the demi-humans, humanity took the best of each species for his own. And then he modified the skills and used it against their original owners.
Slavery also became common starting from then, as the humans began waging wars on other species and enslaving those they conquered. The gods didn't mind that, of course, since the humans prayed and made offerings to them, but those who were enslaved weren't that happy.
IC -12,000s
Elpis, High Queen of the elves, makes a pact with the seven humans elders.
She would lead her people west across the Rho river to avoid conflict with humans, who in turn will not hunt down or enslave any more elves. The pact is sealed with a promise to aid each other in times of dire need.
IC -10,000s
Ages pass, and humanity progresses from hunter-gather societies wandering the land whence they first arrive at, to fixed settlements for farming and domestication.
Taming the wildfowl and aurochs that roamed the land, the humans build tents, then shacks, then huts, then cabins. Erected walls of wood to protect themselves, and crafted stone weapons to hunt their prey. Plowed the land, sowed seeds, harvested crops. Multiplied and grew in numbers.
IC -9500s
The first walled city, Jerio of the Grey Mountains, is built. It housed nearly 2000 dwarves and is craved partially into the cliffs that surrounded on three sides.
IC -8900s
The secret to making bricks is discovered. Civilizations quickly use this cheap, newfound material to construct huge (for that time) sprawling settlements for their quickly increasing populations.
IC -8400s
A group of humans on rafts sail the Inland Sea and arrives on the Southern Islands. They settle down and quickly spread out through the new continent.
IC -8200s
The first large scale conflict between humans. Atolpop, the Mene of Ras Abu, led five thousand men wielding copper swords against the combined strength of over a dozen tribes. The scantily armed tribesmen fell before the might of the Mene, and Atolpop became the first Mene of Mid Central Falmart.
One of the defeated tribes, the Wang tribe, escapes into the East. This small family would be known in history as the forefather of two of the Great Empires.
IC -8050s
The Ice Age begins, lasting for several decades. Global temperature drops by 5 degrees, and much to the North becomes a freezing wasteland. Beastmen who are native to the area flee to the comparatively warmer South, where they were soon subjected to slavery and domestication.
IC -8000s
Atolpop's kingdom, beset with freezing cold and widespread famine, seek for help from the elves. Although initially unwilling, the elves were eventually persuaded and sell their grain, grown in the warm western plains, to the humans. The scant amount of food kept the royalties alive, but most of the peasants die of cold and starvation.
A few years later, the land finally thaws. Devastated by the Ice Age, Atolpop's kingdom falls into ruins. Hundreds of city-states rises in its wake, and thus began an age of skirmishes between feuding warlords.
IC -7850s
A fraction of elves known for their brown skins advocates seizing the chance to cross the Rho river and retake the lands from the humans by force. The High Queen disagrees with the notion, but secretly funds and controls several puppet states by the elvish-human borders.
IC -7500s
The Great Dwarven Migration.
Drawn by rumors of mineral-rich mountains in the far North, thousands of Dwarves make their way into the freezing Northern highlands, never to be seen again. Some say that they founded a great Empire there, with streets of beaten gold and fountains of silver, while others insisted that all the midgets died due to harsh living conditions.
(The truth is, the dwarves discovered a Gate and were all transported to a different world, one that isn't that unfamiliar to us.)
The few remaining dwarves went into reclusion, keeping mostly to themselves and hiding in caves deep beneath the mountains. Sighting of dwarves became lesser and lesser, until one day they were just another myth.
IC -7300s
The Wang tribe splits. Half remains in the East, on the river banks of the Torz river, tilling the rich, fertile land; while others venture North into the now unpopulated North, determined to carve out an empire of their own.
IC -7000s
Human population passes 1 million.
IC -6550s
The domestication of horses. This discovery would revolutionize the way of warfare.
IC -6500s
It is said that around this time Emroy broke up with Hardy. Hardy's priests would tell you that Emroy had a human mistress, while supporters of Emroy would insist that it was because Hardy was homosexual.
IC -6400s
A shepherd on the Southern Islands suddenly gains the ability to produce flames from his hands. He was shunned because of it and accused of being a demon. Women would scream at the sight of him and carry their children back into their homes while men chase him away with sticks.
He was driven away by his family and forced to live in solitude in the wilderness. Sadly, the first human wizard dies a lonely death several years later.
And thus ends the first chapter of Falmart's history! I really hope you enjoyed it (which I doubt cause nobody likes history class).
Regardless of that, please do drop a review when you're done, I'd love any feedback!
Anyway, the next chapter would be centered around the fall of humanity's pointy-eared friends! (With some help from Yao and Lelei)
