Three weeks later Aliya woke up to five handmaidens in her room getting her ready for the big day.
Aliya protested as the handmaidens insisted on getting her ready themselves. She didn't like being treated as if she was incapable of taking care of herself.
Aliya was relieved that they at least let her bathe by herself. Once she finished bathing she dried herself off and put a robe on. Then she grabbed her wedding dress and put it on.
Aliya then reluctantly sat down and let the handmaidens do her hair. She was so excited for today but extremely nervous as well. What if I trip walking down the aisle? What if I forget what I'm supposed to say? Aliya thought nervously.
Aliya was snapped out of her thoughts when she heard a knock on the door.
"Come in." Aliya called.
The door opened and Hermione entered.
"Hi. You look very nice." Hermione said, smiling.
"As do you." Aliya said. "I'm glad you're here Hermione. I have a huge problem."
"What is it?" Hermione asked.
"Who is supposed to walk me down the aisle? My dad and grandparents are mostly dead all my family members are dead." Aliya said. Most of her family had died during wizarding wars.
"No you still have Lupin. He's your uncle isn't he?" Hermione asked.
"Oh he is! I forgot." Aliya said. She had forgotten that Remus Lupin was her uncle. He was her dad's brother which made her full name Aliya Lupin.
"I've been so busy I guess I forgot. He's my only family left." Aliya said. "I can't believe I forgot."
"It's alright. Remember you've had a lot on your mind." Hermione said. "I better be getting back to Ginny now. I just wanted to come and check up on you."
"Well, thank you." Aliya said as Hermione left the room.
Soon Aliya was all ready. It was now the evening and the sun was starting to set. The handmaidens had left her room so now she was alone, she was sitting on her bed reading when she heard a knock on the door.
"Come in." Aliya called.
Remus Lupin entered the room and smiled at the sight of his niece.
"You look just like your mother." He said, walking over Aliya and hugging her.
"I've missed you so much." Aliya said.
"I know. I'm sorry about your parents."
"It's alright."
"Are you ready? Everyone's waiting."
"Yes I just need one last thing." Aliya said, walking over to her dresser and putting the necklace from Legolas on. "Now I'm ready."
Lupin offered Aliya his arm and she took it. Together they walked out of the room and reached the doors to the garden. Aliya took a deep breath and sighed. She was beyond nervous. The doors opened and Lupin led her slowly down the aisle. Aliya looked up at Legolas, he was staring down at her. He looked so handsome. A smile graced his lips at the sight of her. Aliya and Legolas locked eyes. Thranduil was doing the ceremony. Lupin then handed Aliya over to Legolas and the ceremony began.
Aliya smiled and would reply when needed. Then it was time for Legolas to give her the ring he chose for her and Aliya to give Legolas the ring she chose for him. Aliya slid the ring onto Legolas' finger. It was silver. Then Legolas slipped the ring he chose for her onto her finger. Aliya's jaw dropped. The ring was beautiful. It was silver with lots of designs and a green jewel in the center. Then they said there last vows.
Then Thranduil spoke, "You may now kiss the bride."
Legolas then closed the gap between them and his lips descended onto Aliya's into a kiss. Aliya could hear the crowd cheering. Then they both pulled away and headed out to the other part of the garden where the reception would be held.
"You look beautiful." Legolas said to Aliya as they walked through the garden to the reception area.
Aliya smiled. She felt her face grow slightly red. "Thank you."
Aliya and Legolas entered the reception area in the garden. It was beautiful, there were lights strung around the surrounding trees of the clearing waiting to be lit. The small pond with the waterfall now had lily pads with white flowers and the tables were all around the outside by the trees leaving a big opening in the center. The tables had white table clothes and gardenias in the center. There was also a beautiful sunset casting a golden glow around the area.
Not long after they entered the clearing other guests started entering.
"Ready to meet my friends?" Aliya asked.
"If your ready to meet mine." Legolas said, smiling.
"So this is the elf you were talking about. Nice to meet you." Ron said, walking over.
"The elf?" Legolas questioned.
"He forgot your name." Hermione said, walking over with Harry. "I'm Hermione Granger. It's very nice to meet you."
"It's very nice to meet you too. You must be Ron Weasley and you, Harry Potter." Legolas said, looking at Harry and Ron who both nodded.
"So this is what an elf here looks like. Man, there's a big difference. You definitely don't look like Dobby or Kreacher." Ron said.
"Who's Kre-" Legolas started.
"He's a nasty house elf that belongs to Sirius. He's really ugly so take it as a complement." Aliya said.
Legolas nodded seeming to understand.
"Ron! Mums looking for you." Ginny said walking over.
"What's she want me for?" Ron asked.
Ginny shrugged and Ron trudged off.
"Hi I'm Ginny Weasley, Ron's sister." She said.
"It's a pleasure to meet you." Legolas said.
"Is it true?" Ginny asked, "That elves are immortal?"
Legolas nodded. "It is. I'm in my three thousands and my father is in his sixth thousands."
Ginny's jaw dropped. "That's crazy."
"Aliya!"
Aliya looked over and saw Cho and Marietta Edgecombe walking over to her. She turned her attention to them as Ginny and Legolas talked.
"I love your dress." Cho commented.
"Thank you. I like yours too." Aliya said, smiling.
Cho was wearing a blue dress with a dark blue design and Marietta was wearing a raspberry pink dress with a lot's of tiny details.
"Thank you for inviting me. It's amazing here." Cho said, looking around. "I definitely like the elves here better than the house elves."
Aliya laughed.
"The hobbits are really nice too." Marietta said, looking over at them. "They're really welcoming."
"Yeah they are." Aliya agreed.
Soon once Aliya and Legolas met everyone it was time to eat. Aliya sat down at a table next to Legolas. They were at a table with Thranduil, Remus Lupin, Nymphadora, Haldir, Glóredhel and Gimli. Nymphadora seemed to take great interest in talking with Gimli. Handir was seated on Glóredhels lap and Teddy was seated on Nymphadoras lap.
Soon everyone started eating and talking. When they were only about five minutes into the meal a loud clatter was heard along with a small shriek from the hobbits table.
Everyone looked over to see what had happened. Pipp had not surprisingly spilled his drink all over himself. Without saying a word Hermione stood up with napkins and went to help the poor hobbit.
"So," Gimli said, "good food. You two did a lovely job planning along with the elves that helped set up."
"Yes it's very beautiful and the food is very good." Nymphadora agreed.
It was dark out and the stars were just starting to come out.
"How old is he?" Aliya asked, gesturing to Handir.
"He's about five months about to be six." Glóredhel said, smiling down at the little elfling in herlap.
"And how old is this one?"" Gimli asked Nymphadora.
"He just turned six months." Nymphadora said.
"Very nice." Gimli said.
Everyone sat talking and eating once again until something caused them to stop. Teddy had apparently gotten bored and now had Thranduil's hair in his little fist (thankfully it was still in his head). Thranduil had to lean over slightly to stop Teddy from yanking on his hair as he had done before.
"Teddy that's not polite, let go." Nymphadora said, trying to get Teddy to let go of the king's hair. "I'm terribly sorry, this is the first time he's ever done this."
"No, no it's not your fault." Thranduil said, gritting his teeth.
Just then there was a loud snort from the side of the table that Thranduil was on. It had come from Gimli. His face was red and it appeared that he was biting his tung.
"Gimli? What are you-" Aliya started.
"He's trying to stop himself from laughing." Legolas said, smirking.
"Teddy please let go." Nymphadora pleaded and Teddy who seemed to be bored again, let go.
Nymphadora sighed in relief when suddenly Gimli burst out laughing, clearly not being able to contain it any longer. Thranduil shot Gimli death stare and he immediately stopped laughing.
Soon everyone had finished their main meals and now they were all onto the cake. Gimli had two slices on his plate and was busy stuffing his mouth.
"The cake is very good." Gimli said, through a mouthful of cake.
Thranduil looked over at Gimli in disgust.
"Good choice choosing chocolate." Orophin said, taking a bite of his cake.
"Yeah. Even Handir likes it. " Rúmil said, looking over at Handir and smiling.
Everyone else looked over at the little elfling and started laughing. Handir's little face was covered in cake along with his tiny hands.
Haldir passed a napkin over to Glóredhel so she could clean Handir up.
"So Gimli where are you returning to Erebor?" Legolas asked.
Aliya watched the fork Legolas had in his hand. It had a price of cake on it. He was moving the fork around in his hand as he spoke with Gimli until the cake on the end of the fork made contact with her face.
"Actually I already returned. I used to be staying at… you got a little cake on your face there lass." Gimli said, looking at Aliya.
Legolas looked over at Aliya trying not to laugh.
"Really?" Aliya said, acting as if she didn't know.
"Yeah just right about," Legolas said, pointing with his fork that still had a piece of cake on it, "there."
Legolas tapped Aliya on the face with the cake on the end of his fork getting more frosting on her face.
"Oh really now?" Aliya asked, smirking.
"What?" Legolas asked, acting as if he had no idea what she meant.
But before Legolas could say anymore he got a decent amount of cake in his face, mainly frosting.
"The frosting's very good." Legolas said, licking the frosting off his lips and wiping his face off. "Although I would prefer it with cake."
"Here you go." Aliya said shoving a decent amount of cake in his mouth.
"Mhm much better." Legolas said once he finished it.
Aliya was about to say something else when Legolas' lips captured hers in a loving kiss.
"Ehem, trying to eat here." Gimli said.
"Yeah I don't want to waste a good piece because I lost my appetite because of you two love birds." Orophin said, looking at his cake.
"Hey it's their wedding night, lighten up a bit." Rúmil said, elbowing Orophin.
"Oh, my apologies."
Legolas smirked at the two then looked back at Aliya who was cleaning her face off.
Suddenly a crash was heard from where Handir was seated. Everyone looked over to see broken glass on the ground.
"What happened?" Orophin asked, taking his eyes away from his cake.
"The elfling happened." Thranduil said, looking agitated.
"What?" Rúmil asked, looking up.
"Handir's plate was at the end of the table and he smacked his hand down on the part that wasn't on the table... and...well you get the point." Glóredhel said.
"Do we?" Orophin asked.
"Yes we do." Rúmil said, shooting a look to his younger brother. Rúmil was eldest of the three whileOrophin was the youngest.
"Care to join me for a dance?" Legolas asked, standing up and offering his hand.
"Of course." Aliya replied, standing up and taking his hand.
Legolas led Aliya into the opening joining the other dancers. There was a nice slow song playing.
Aliya took Legolas' hand and rested her other on his shoulder. Legolas rested his hand that was not in Aliya's on her waist and they started dancing.
Soon the song got slower. Aliya rested her head on Legolas' chest and Legolas rested his head on hers.
"I have never seen a more beautiful bride than I do right now." Legolas whispered.
Aliya smiled. "And I have never seen a more handsome groom. Legolas not only tonight did you become my husband but you also became something else."
"What might that be?"
"The prince of my heart."
Legolas smiled and gave her a kiss on the head. He was so happy she was back and with him.
Soon the party had ended and everyone headed home or to the guest bedrooms (if they were to stay the night). After Legolas and Aliya bid goodnight to everyone they headed off to bed. Legolas led Aliya into his bedroom that was now theirs. Legolas' room looked slightly different but not by much. His bed had been swapped out with a master bed and Aliya's things and Mittens had been moved in.
Legolas disappeared off into the bathroom and Aliya changed into her pajamas and sat down at the edge of the bed. Then she started to undo her hair when Legolas entered the room. His hair was un-braided and he smiled at her then got changed into his pajamas.
"I can't believe this has really happened. You're my husband now." Aliya said, happily.
"And you're my wife." Legolas said, sitting down next to Aliya.
"It's crazy to think that we both were from two different worlds and here we are now together."
"Fate must have brought us together."
Aliya smiled. "Yes, fate brought us together."
Aliya looked up at Legolas who smiled down at her before tilting her chin up and giving her a loving kiss. Aliya smiled into the kiss and moved her hands (that were around Legolas' neck) up into his hair. His hair was as soft as silk. Legolas moved his arms around Aliya's waist and when they finally parted they both were out of breath.
"Le melin, le melithon anuir Aliya (I love you, I will love you forever Aliya)." Legolas said, still holding her in his arms.
"Le melin Legolas (I love you Legolas)." Aliya said in return.
Together they stayed in each other's arms for a few more minutes until Aliya spoke.
"It's late. We should probably get to bed." She said.
Legolas nodded in agreement and climbed into bed. Aliya walked around the bed and climbed onto her side, covering up. Legolas draped his arm over her waist and Aliya snuggled into him. She felt like she was living in a dream. This couldn't possibly get any better. This is the best day of my life. She thought, before closing her eyes and drifting off into a peaceful sleep.
I can't believe this is the end. It's crazy! All that's left is the epilogue. Please review on this story I love being able to see what you guys think :)
