Five hundred years later Aliya lay in bed facing Legolas smiling. He was laying on his back with their baby girl named Annel seated on his stomach facing him. Legolas was holding her up with one hand while the other played with her little hands. Annel giggled, a little smile crossing her face causing her father to smile as well.
At the end of the bed two identical elflings were sound asleep, a boy and a girl. Both had blonde hair and blue eyes like their father but with their mother's features while Annel had brown hair and brown eyes and her father's features. Both twins had woken up in the middle of the night with a nightmare while Annel wanted to be inclined and sleep with everyone else.
Aliya sat up and started rubbing the two elflings shoulders.
"Hallothiel, Serion." Their mother whispered gently causing the twins to stir and soon they sleepily opened their eyes.
"Good morning naneth (mother)." The girl named Hallothiel said sleepily.
"Morning naneth (mother). Morning adar (father)." The boy named Serion said through a yawn.
"Good morning." Aliya responded.
"Morning sleepy heads." Legolas said, smiling. "Sleep well?"
"I slept fine." Serion said, sitting up.
"I slept good too, the only problem was that Serion wouldn't stop snoring." Hallothiel said.
"I wasn't snoring that was you! You sounded like a sleeping bear." Serion said quickly. "Besides I don't snore."
"Oh please, you sounded like an orc." Hallothiel shot back.
"Will you both stop. We all know who the one snoring was." Legolas interrupted.
The twins looked at their father expectantly.
"It was your mother of course." Legolas said.
Aliya looked over at her husband. "Excuse me?"
"Sorry, did you say something?" Legolas asked, smirking.
"I do not snore. That was you." Aliya said.
"No, it was definitely not me." Legolas said.
"Then who was the one snoring became they made it difficult for me to sleep." Hallothiel said, crossing her arms.
"Well if it was none of us then it only leaves one person." Legolas said, looking at Mittens
"Don't blame the cat Legolas." Aliya said.
"I wasn't going to. I was going to blame Annel."
"Yeah because that's so much better."
"I was only joking. No need to be so serious." Legolas said, smiling.
For a few minutes the family sat in silence until Legolas spoke.
"What's on your mind?" He asked Aliya, who was staring off into space.
Aliya looked over at Legolas smiling. "I was just thinking about how grateful I am for the lovely family I have. Nothing could be any better than this."
