Something in my mind was telling me that everything was about to go to hell. With the appearance of Junko, every fiber of my mind was telling me to get rid of her before she destroyed everything, that she could counter my skills. Yet I knew that wasn't the case, so far, no one could get past everything I had set. Well, everyone but one person, but she fought tooth and nail to get me, and look where I ended up. If it wasn't for her, I wouldn't be where I was, and I wouldn't of been able to officially get to know Chiaki.
So, I decided to act against my instincts and push to get to the bottom of what happened to Hinata. I knew one person who would do the exact same, Yukizome sensei. I follower her through the school, with me following her outside. I leaned against the corner, with me seeing her talking to the guard who attacked Hinata. Looking over at them, I saw him pass something over to her, with me seeing that it was a card of some kind.
No, it wasn't a card, it was a key card, a way to get into the schools most secure areas, even the one that has locked Hinata away, that lab. Yet, if the card wasn't only for the lab, then she must of found someone who has access to the lab and is going to investigate there office. Meaning that she was planning to find out something. Then I remembered something, a few days ago, one of the faculty members went missing, so she must be planning to check his office.
Later that day
"Okay, these are the new digs!" Yukizome said as we all sat in our new desks and class. "As of today, this is the building where you will study and enjoy the golden age of youth! Hop to people, its time to get to work!" She said, making me smile at that while everyone else cheered.
"Ya, excuse me, but when is he going to be back?" Akane questioned, jerking her thumb over to Nagito's desk, with me looking at it as well, seeing that it was next to mine.
"I have it on good authority that he will be joining us very soon!" Yukizome said, unsure about her answer. "You all really miss him, huh?" She asked, with me rolling my eyes.
'After what he pulled, I wouldn't want to be close to him, but I need his luck to stop what's coming.' I thought, looking back at the front of the class.
"Ya, not so much." Kazuichi said, looking away from the desk.
"Oh, wow, your hilarious, I hate the guy, a lot." Saionji said as she glared at Yukizome.
"Now where is your sense of comradery? Komaeda is in this class, like it or not!" Yukizome scolded, with me shrugging my shoulders as I didn't care. "Now, moving on!" She said, picking up her attendance book. "Now, there wont be a home room tomorrow, on account of the ceremony commemorating the new building, it will be held in the court yard, so don't over sleep!" She said, with everyone saying ok, all except for me as I knew she was up to something.
Later that night
"How about them festivities?" One of the guards questioned as I hid around the corner, doing my best not to get spotted.
Stepping out as they passed, I walked down the hall, only to bump into something as I was walking backwards. Spinning around, I pulled out a knife and aimed it at the person, but stopped once I saw Yukizome standing there with wide eyes. "Finally caught up to you!" I whispered, with her looking shocked.
"Dakota, what are you doing here!?" She questioned, nearly yelling at me with her whisper.
"The same thing as you, now lets move!" I said, leading the way towards the missing teachers room. "I saw you get a trusties card and figured I would follow you to find out what is really going on here!" I said, with her nodding her head as we went up stairs.
"While I would like the help, it would be best if you didn't get involved." She said, with me shaking my head at her.
"Sorry, but I need to find Hinata. He is my friend, and I wont stand by as they turn him into something else." I said, with us reaching the room. "The key card please!" I said, with her swiping it. Pushing the door open, I looked around and saw it was empty. "Clear!" I said, with her following me in and closing the door.
Looking around, I narrowed my eyes at the amount of books that were laid out. "If it was just me, I would of been here all night, but with you here, it wont take long!" She said, with me nodding as I started looking through the books.
Later
"This project ensures the creation of humanities salvation. The so called super high school level hope. The subject is endued with every talent that is currently known to the community." I read, with me gritting my teeth. "Doing that, removed everything that the person once was." I said, closing the book and looking over at Yukizome, who was on the computer.
Walking over to her, I started reading everything, with me stopping her once we came across a photo. "What, is something wrong?" She asked, with me nodding my head.
"There, super high school level hope, Izuru Kamukura." I said, with her looking at him. "I know its nearly been a year, but we both know who he is." I said, confusing her. "That's Hajime Hinata." I said, shocking her as she jumped up as she recognized him now.
"This is awful, we're talking about human experimentation!?" She yelled, with me nodding as I stood up.
"And with the tests that they ran on him, he's no longer Hajime Hinata, but Izuru Kamukura." I said, closing my eyes. "They killed what he once was, just for this." I said, gritting my teeth. "Hopes Peak is nothing but a front for human experimentation!" I said, looking at Yukizome. "We have to get out of here, the guards will be here soon!" I said, with her nodding and shutting the computer off, where we made our leave, neither of us feeling proud about what we had learned.
Later
"Kyosuke, its me, I'm with one of my students." Yukizome said as she had the phone on speaker. "He knows everything, down to the T." She said, with me hearing a tsk on the other side of the line.
"You cant go dragging your students into this, who knows what they might spill!" Kyosuke said, with me narrowing my eyes at the phone.
"I was the one who told her to keep her eyes and ears open!" I yelled, gritting my teeth. "Anyways, here's what we found out." I said, crossing my arms. "Hops Peak is a front for human experimentation, and they have made a victim already." I said, looking at Yukizome.
"He's right, his name was Hajime Hinata, but according to what we found, he's long gone. Now, he is going by the founders name, Izuru Kamukura." She informed, with us getting another tsk from him.
"The Kamukura Project... May the board of trusties rot in Hell." He said, with me nodding. "They are trying to Frankenstein a-"
"Lets not talk bad about him, he is still my friend... Even if he isn't." I said, looking away from the phone as I interrupted him.
"Try putting it into lighter terms." Yukizome said as she wrapped one arm around me and pulled me closer, leaning my head onto her shoulder as she rubbed my head.
"Think Clockwork God. The basters are creating a hope that will do whatever they say." He said, with me nodding as I had already pieced that together.
"So... Where do we go from here?" She asked, and even I didn't know what to do. This was as far as I could get.
"Dose anyone else know, has this information been leaked?" He asked, with me keeping quiet.
"No, just the three of us. If it did get out, it would be a PR nightmare." She said, with me looking down at the phone. "They have already taken the necessary prorations." She said, with me sighing as that wasn't it.
"Exposer isn't the worst case scenario." I said, shocking her as she looked down at me.
"He's right." He said, with her looking back at the phone. "Imagine a creature with every know talent turning hostel." He said, shocking her. "Human civilization would be brought down to its knees. He's monstrous, a WMD waiting to be misused." He said, with me gritting my teeth at that.
"Hope would disappear, leaving despair in its wake." I said, with her looking back at me. "We're talking about the end of the world here." I said, removing myself from her. "I have tp prepare for the end, and if my calculations are correct, the game has already begun." I said, stepping away from her. "I have to go, I cant let this happen." I said, looking back at her. "But, incase it does happen, I already have something being developed." I said, walking away from her.
The next day
Knocking on the door, I watched as Chihiro opened it, looking at me with wide eyes. "Lets get started on that project, ASAP." I said, passing him a large bag of cash, with him taking it and opening it, looking on with wide eyes. "We start now." I said, with him nodding and letting me into his room.
