CHAPTER 1

PILOT

A/N:

Hi and Hello. Welcome to my first ever fanfiction. I have read many OCs Power Rangers Fanfictions and I decided to try my hand at one. I view this as a challenge which I intend to overcome. So please I seriously hope you enjoy this first chapter. Onwards to the story.

SOMEWHERE IN MYSTIC FALLS, VIRGINIA

An old man wearing a garb and holding a stick in his hand looked up at the sky with a deep sigh. He was terribly missing his home planet but there was nothing he could do about it. It had been blown into smithereens by the last great war. He was lucky to have been a survivor at all. He sighed once more and walked into his home that looked more like an hut which was surprisingly strong. He placed his stick on a table and walked over to a cabinet by the corner of the hut. He drew open the drawer and pulled out a black square box. He waved his hand over the box and the box glowed a bright blue as he opened it. Inside the box were five watches with different colours. On each of the watch face was three tiny buttons each earmarked with grey, white and golden. He looked at what his ancient forefathers had called the Legendary Morphers. They were the only prized possession he salvaged from Lepton before he escaped and the whole planet went up in flames. He sighed yet again and muttered to himself, "Please I don't know what to do. Who are the chosen ones? Please guide me in these dark times." So, saying, he closed the box and put it back in the cabinet. As he walked inside, he was unaware as different colour of lights flew out of the window across from him. It was time that new heroes took on the mantle of the Legendary Warriors.

MYSTIC FALLS

MYSTIC FALLS HIGH SCHOOL

VIRGINIA

David Langley walked through the hallways of the school with raised arms. He was putting on a red t-shirt with the inscription MEN ROCK along with penciled black jeans and white sneakers. His blond hair with weathered face was the main attraction. He looked ruggedly handsome with his full lips and short curled eyelashes. Whenever he smiled, dimples tend to be like a permanent feature on his cheeks. Only one thing tends to spoil his appearance. He had a particularly nasty manner of being arrogant or even downright aggressive. As a junior student collided with him accidentally, she turned around to apologize to him but David was already glaring at her. The student was dressed like a tomboy. She had brushed down black hair that made her resemble a boy. But on closer look, it was found out that she was anything but a male. She had long eyelashes and a thin lip. She was putting on pink t-shirt that was buttoned up at the top. She looked at David and smiled charmingly,

"Erm, David, I'm sorry. I must have been thinking of something else there." She said as she glanced at him.

"You think?" You blind oaf." David bellowed with all the anger inside him. "What's your name huh?" He continued to glare at her making her almost flinch but she held her ground as she spoke, "My name is Amber and I'm no blind oaf, you ugly buffoon."

Whistles could be heard from every side of the hallway as every student paused to take a look at who could have challenged the mighty David Langley. Even David himself looked taken aback as he looked at her with a hidden expression in his eyes. He hissed as he stormed away from her unaware of the glowing red light in his pocket.

Amber opened her locker and picked out the note she was to use for her class which was History. She was unaware of a light that shone pink in her locker that flew out and into her pocket. She jolted for a bit as if lightning had struck her before deciding it was probably nothing and headed back to class.

Mellissa had noticed the scene her brother had created with the strange girl. She shook her head and actually thought of going to meet him but decided against it. She didn't like the way he treated others even if he was overprotective. She sighed and went on her way to her History class reminding herself mentally to remember to talk with him. She was unaware of the blue light glowing in her pocket. As she turned to head to class, she collided with another person and the books she was holding in her hands dropped. As she and the person bent to pick them together, she looked up to see the person she had collided with and her cheeks immediately burned red. She was face to face with Mystic Falls High MVP Jason Waithe. He was putting on a black tight hugging t-shirt and black chinos. He looked up and caught Mel looking at him. He smirked and cleared his throat as he handed back the notes to her.

Mellissa glanced away as he caught her glancing at him. She sent her brightest and perkiest smile his way as she spoke, "Hey, Jason." She giggled nervously. Jason tilted his head as she collected the notes and greeted him. He smiled, his dimples showing as lips tilted in a smirk,

"Hey. I didn't quite catch your name."

"I didn't speak my name. I'm Mellissa Langley." Mellissa replied as she flicked her hair backwards. She then continued, "Sorry. I gotta get to History class." Jason's smirk widened as he answered her, "Good thing I'm headed to History as well." He then motioned for her to lead the way. He too was seemingly unaware of the black glow in his pocket as he spoke, "Say, I've got football practice after this. Want to come and cheer me on?" she smiled as she glanced up at him, "It would be my honor." They walked on in silence.

A SPACESHIP OUTSIDE EARTH'S ATMOSPHERE

A pale tall warlord completely covered in armor removed his helmet glancing at his foot soldiers which looked like ninjas. The ninjas were white in color. Their eyes were white in their armored head. They had small katanas in their sheaths. They looked at the guard that had taken over as Regent in their Master's absence. A small teen walked out from the inner sanctum of the ship and regarded the warlord on the throne. She looked completely human for the most part. She scoffed and called out, "Vladmir." The warlord raised his head as he regarded her with a gaze. He spoke out harshly,

"And what is it this time, Lynn? Hmm?"

"Shouldn't we be planning on we take over kingdoms of men in Lord Eragor's absence." Vladimir chuckled as he stood revealing his huge sword that was sheathed in the throne. He nodded as he walked slowly down the dais and spoke, "The Master left me in charge until we get enough power to wake him from his slumber. The only power strong enough is the power of the Legendary Gems. Masuta recently communicated to me that he has found the gems as hard as it was. I've sent Gondolites to retrieve the gems. Worry not, Lynn. Victory shall soon be ours and Earth shall be no more." Lynn nodded and smiled as she exited the throne room.

MYSTIC FALLS HIGH SCHOOL

The sky was beginning to darken even though it was still early afternoon. It looked as a storm was beginning to brew or it was going to rain cats and dogs. The students were in the cafeteria by this time and eating their lunch in peace. A girl screamed when a sword shattered the glass frames and just narrowly missed a boy's ear. It stuck perfectly into the wall. The boy himself froze having been too frightened to react otherwise. Everywhere was all silenced as everybody's heart began to beat fast wondering what was happening.

It was until a white helmeted head showed holding a sword that everybody actually scattered. David being the closest to the doorway sent an aggressive spin kick for the creature's head. The creature dispersed into dust making room for the screaming students to pass. As they all ran outside, they met its fellow creatures rushing for them like bees to honey. They diverted instead running into the school and locking themselves behind doors. It was a truly tensed moment.

By fate, David, Mellissa, Jason, Victor and Amber met themselves running into the same room as Amber shut the door. The colors in their pockets glowed even brighter but none seemed to notice. They were all concerned with staying alive. After they all breathed out in relief, Victor glanced up looking at David.

"How did you do that?" Victor asked as he folded his hand across his chest. David shrugged and replied, "How am I supposed to know that, mate?" Mellissa looked towards her brother ready to react at the slightest show of aggression. She breathed out, "Calm down, bro. All we need to do is figure out how to stay alive until this goes." Jason who was looking out of the shuttered windows in the empty classroom muttered, "I wonder what those things are anyways." Amber stayed quiet as she paced the room.

In the next instant, the door of the classroom burst off its hinges as a gondolite was flung inside. It disappeared into dust the next moment. The five of them held in suppressed screams as they glanced outside. All they saw was a red blur going through the creatures like they were nothing.

As they watched the creatures dissipate into nothing, they all looked at the figure as he stopped and did a defensive position. He had a helmet on his head that looked like a phoenix's head. His hand from where the shoulder was white while it was covered in a wine gauntlet. The body of the armor was more like armor on top of a thick chainmail. It was wine all through. The insignia of a phoenix was inserted into the chest area. The legs were white except for the boot which were wine as well. He looked up and ignoring other student bodies who were staring at him unashamedly, he looked at the five who were directly in front of him. He entered the room and spoke, his voice modulated because of the helmet but still clear.

"Hello. You do not need to be scared of me. We have much to discuss as you have much to learn." Without giving any of them room for protest, he pressed a button on his golden belt and all of them teleported from the classroom in a burst of bright light.

BATTLEFORCE GRID, MYSTIC FALLS

The five of them dropped neatly in a room that was packed full with computers. None of them was left out of the show of awe. They all looked around the place. It wasn't until that the warrior that had brought them there uncorked his helmet from his head that they all looked at him. He smiled as he gestured them to sit and spoke before any of them could,

"My name is Xuan. And yes, before you decide to rain shouts on me, I'm going to have to ask you to bear with me and listen very carefully. Then I will leave the decision in your hands." That assurance seemed to calm them down as they scrambled for seats. But a questioning glance remained on their faces. Xuan dropped his helmet on a slab and walked to a computer once they were all seated. He pressed a series of commands and the computer lit up as a huge projection lit on. It browsed a series of images and Xuan began as he also sat down.

"As I said, my name is Xuan. I came from one of the Lost Galaxies called Lepton. Our planet was home to the most dangerous gems on this planet: The Legendary gems. In the wrong hands if harnessed, it can cause an apocalyptic event so strong it'd wipe out planets. News reached us of the intergalactic conqueror, Lord Eragor wiping out other planets to search for these gems. But we believed it was safe in our planets. After all, we had the best defenses any planet could ever boast of. However, when Lord Eragor got to our planet, his armada blasted our defenses and reduced it to nothing. That was when we knew our troubles had begun. The first wave of his army attacked and laid waste to us. It was indescribable with words. We knew we had to keep the gems safe so that its powers could be harnessed and used to battle Lord Eragor and his forces. Then I was chosen and I escaped even though I knew my planet was at risk of being blasted to oblivion but I had priorities. Eight gems were made. Six were found. Two had been lost since time immemorial but they can still be found." David smirked as he spoke, "So why'd you call us.?" Xuan looked at David as he stood up, "I was getting to that, Langley. The five of you are the chosen ones to harness the gem's energy and become Earth's new defenders."

Victor was the first to perk from his seat and quip, "So, you are asking us to harness untested energies to defend Earth. Cool, I'm in. I always wanted to test science versus magic before." He looked towards the others. David looked up hiding a small smirk as he spoke, "Well, if it gets me into the hall of Fame, I don't mind saving Earth." Melissa rolled her eyes as she stood up, "Well, someone has got to keep the pompous behind of my brother out of trouble so, why not?" David glared hard at her. Amber rolled her eyes as well as she stood up. She then spoke up, "Well, someone has to watch over this lots. Count me in, I guess." They all directed their gaze at Jason who also stood up and shrugged, "I could use something to do in my spare time. Count me in." Xuan nodded at them as he walked to the cabinet by the corner. He removed a black box and walked towards them.
"Check your pockets." He commanded. As they each brought the colored gem from their pockets, Xuan walked to David extending the red Legendary Morpher. As David accepted it, Xuan spoke, "David Langley, you are a fiery guy. You will be the leader of this new squad and the Red Legendary Warrior." The red gem fused with the Morpher so it became part of the Morpher signaling acceptance. David nodded and looked at Xuan, "It will be a pleasure, Master Xuan." Xuan nodded and walked to Mellissa who was already smiling. He reached out the Blue Legendary Morpher. As she received it, Xuan nodded and spoke,

"The easy going of this team. For this reason, you, Mellissa Langley shall be the Blue Legendary Warrior and the second in command to this team." As her gem fused with her morpher, she spoke, "I'm truly honoured, Master Xuan." As she spoke, Xuan moved towards Jason and removed the Black Legendary Morpher. As he extended the Morpher and Jason received it, he spoke, "As rumbling as the earth. Jason Waithe, you shall be the Black Legendary Warrior." Jason nodded but kept silent.

Xuan moved on to Victor. He extended the Yellow Legendary Morpher at him. Victor collected the Morpher and looked up at Xuan who spoke, "Victor James, fast as lightning. You shall be the Yellow Legendary Warrior." Victor looked up with a smirk as he replied, "It shall be an honour, Master Xuan." He smiled as he walked up to Amber and presented her with the Pink Legendary Warrior. As she collected it, he spoke,

"Fierce as the wind when crossed. You, Amber Parker shall be the Pink Legendary Warrior." Amber nodded as she strapped on the Morpher just as the others did the moment their gems fused with the Morpher. Xuan then called out. The door slided open and a tall wiry male entered. He looked at Xuan, "Master Xuan, you called me."

"Yes, I did. Meet our top scientist, Nate. He will take you on a tour across the Grid." And so chattering, the five teens went off with Nate.
