small mistakes

Then it happened:

Eli landed a punch that connected with Halley's jaw! she fell to the carpet, her eyes starting to flicker.

"Hailey!" Jay lunged but was yanked backwards, with so much force that the males just let go of his wrists and let him crash into the bottom stair. His head bounced off the corner!

"Jay!" Erin yelled, but stopped herself from running to his side.

"You can still leave, if you choose." Eli spat a mouthful of blood to the side.

"I did my part, but there is one thing i may have forgot to have done."

"And what might that be?" he asked curiously.

"Check your cellphone." Erin said as she flipped her hair to the side.

"What!" Eli exclaimed seeing that Erin had disabled his signal jammier, and she had the line open on her cellphone in a secret pocket in her black combat boots!

"I'd get out of here, while you still can." Erin said with a sly smile.

"Lindsey!" He screeched, grabbing his spare gun from the waistband of his pants.

"Get upstairs!" He snapped.

"Voight is on his way, you know that, right?" Erin inquired.

"You think I care?" He laughed. Hailey tried to keep her eyes open but was quickly failing, while Jay had almost made it to his knees.

"Erin." Jay said weakly, sliding a gun across the carpet towards her.

"Always trying to be the hero!" A female laughed as she stopped the gun from reaching Erin.

"Do I have to do everything for you?" the voice asked him. Eli answered her with an intense glare.

"Then let's get this over with! James isn't going to wait all day!" She snapped back.

"I'm not going anywhere with you!" Erin growled.

"You don't have a choice!" the female voice snapped back, Erin got a glimpse of Brie still lying motionless on the living room carpet.

"Fine, but under one condition."

"Who are in no position to be making conditions!" Eli laughed placing a vise-like grip on her right shoulder.

"You want to re-think that?" she laughed at Erin.

"I've got the blonde, get "Lindsey" out of here." Eli smirked.

Jay had now made it all the way to his feet, but was still wavering a bit, gripping onto the bottom post on the handrail.

"Over my dead body!" Jay said using a good amount of strength to secure a sleeper hold around Eli's neck, forcing him to submit. Jay turned his attention to the woman dragging Erin out the back door, roughly by her wrists. He knew he had to do something, and quickly.

"Halstead?"

"Ki..m..." Jay slurred into a cellphone that had fallen out of Eli's back pocket.

"Jay? We're almost there. Just hold on!" Kim said romping on the gas pedal.

"Watch the tires!" Ruzek snapped. Kim just kept her eyes on the road, ignoring how annoying Adam had been being that whole shift.

"Hailey. Are you okay. Hailey!" Jay said as he dropped to his knees, crawled over to Hailey and drug her as far as he could from the stairwell.

"Come on, Hails, you have to help me here." Jay said pulling her body up into his lap, letting her drop her head down to rest on his shoulder.

"Jay? Where's e..Rin...?" Hailey mustered her words.

"I'm not sure." Jay said rubbing the back of his head.

"You need to find hwer.." Hailey slurred, trying to keep herself from giving into the darkness that was tunneling her eyes.

"I made that mistake once, I'm not leaving you!" Jay said raising his voice, alerting the males that had just entered the house through the back door pointing their guns towards their target, well where she was, minutes before.

"She's not here."

"Where the hell is she?

"They couldn't of gotten out of here without seeing them." Jay and Hailey listened to random voices hollering throughout the residence.

Chicago PD!" Voight yelled as he gave Atwater the go ahead to kick the door in.

Cut the electricity." Adam commanded Kim, who glared at him, but did as she was told.

Suddenly the residence went completely dark, until the officers flashlights started shining in and revealing shadows and dark silloutes.

"Damn it!" Eli said looking back inside.

"We need to go! I'll stay here, wait, and give the officers an ultimatum." The woman laughed.

"What?" Eli asked.

"Just go!" She snapped, pulling out her gun to cover Eli's escape.
