Chapter One: Enter, Sorey Scendant.

Ever since I was young, I've always been fascinated by the Pokemon Rescue Teams. The way they bravely journey into dungeons and save Pokemon in peril is just all so awesome! I just know that joining a guild and going out to save people is my calling. I woke up that morning on my bed in my hometown of Forrest in the Pokemon Governed region known as the Kosmos Region.
"Today's gonna be the day I just know it." I cheered. After all this time, I think, I finally gathered the courage to tell my dad that I'll be leaving home to join a guild named Infinity located in the nearby coastal town of Draxel. I know I'm only sixteen and all, and that I'm not all that strong and all,but this has been my dream ever since I was rescued by a team from a mystery dungeon I somehow wondered into when I was little. I have to do this, otherwise I'll only end up dreaming instead of actually doing.
Suddenly my thoughts were interrupted by my father, an adult male floatzel calling me from downstairs. "Y-yeah, I'll be down in a sec, Dad." I yelled from atop my bed.
I slowly climbed down from my bed, knocking my riolu body plushie to the floor and rushed to the door when I was suddenly stopped by the really bad urge to pee. I quickly turned and took flight to the bathroom that was connected to my room Once I finished draining my load, I washed my paws and quickly headed downstairs to the kicken to tackle hugging my papa! Afterwards, I sat down with him at our kitchen table to begin a delicious breakfast.
Everything tasted so good! It was almost like something out of a dream. My Papa's cooking was the best, totally top tier, and you can fight me on that.
As time passed, the food that I had shoved in my mouth slowly began to digest inside of me. It was then that I suddenly started to get a weird feeling in my tummy. No it wasn't indigestion, it was something else. It kinda felt like butterflies fluttering inside of me. It was odd, but if I had to guess what it was, it would definitely be, anxiety.
Oh man, I feel like my heart's gonna explode if it keeps racing like this. I wanna tell my papa about my plans, but like I'm really scared at the same time. Come on, I had so much determination this morning, where in the world did it all go. I thought, holding myself nervously.
"Sorey, what's wrong? You look like you're having a hard time trying to say something." He said.
I-I was honestly having a hard time having a hard time keeping myself from shaking. "Pa-Papa, it's just-that." I stuttered while trying my hardest to get out what I wanted to say. I honestly didn't expect this to be so hard.
"Take your time Sorey," he said, rubbing my paw to calm me. He was successful for the most part, so I quickly took a deep breath and prepared myself.
"Papa, Um, I've decided that, today, I'm going to be leaving to follow my dream of being in a Pokemon Rescue Guild. Papa, I-I want to be a hero! I'll save people lost in dungeons, and guide them to safety, all while smiling and just enjoying life. I won't let what happened to mom happen to anyone else, not as long as I can help it!" I shouted!
My heart was racing so fast! I could have sworn that I was going to pass out at any moment. I watched for my father's reaction and found that he was growing increasingly more angry by the second. I suddenly got a sinking feeling inside my core and started to cry.
"What?! Sorry, you're only sixteen! You're inexperienced in combat and have a horrible sense of direction! Letting you go do something that stupid, would only end up with you be dead somewhere! I won't allow it, and that's final." He shouted. Still in tears I stood visibly determined.
"Papa, my life is mine to live. I refuse to let my dreams be suppressed by you keeping me here forever." I shouted visibly shaken.
My dad exhaled loudly and told me to relax for a second. He placed his right paw on my heart and his left on my head. He gently bumped foreheads with me and smiled warmly. "Sorey, look at me. I'm sorry for yelling. I suppose I have been a bit overly restricting on you. You finished a good portion of your training with Spencer, you know how to use technology to get around, and most importantly you're determined to see this through. Just remember son, I'll always love you, and I'll be here if you need me for anything," He softly said with tears in his eyes. I hugged him tightly for a while after that. When I released him, I rushed upstairs to pack all my things.
Geez, for a second I thought he was actually gonna stop me, but now that the hard part is over, I can focus on the more important stuff, like how this is going to be so freaking awesome! I can't wait to join the Signal guild in Draxel. I'll get around to being part of a team, traveling throughout the region, and even helping out Pokemon in need. I thought.
"This is going to be so super amazing! Huh? Oh yeah, Nikko," I said pausing and looking at my adorable Riolu plush laying upside down on my floor. I picked him up and stared at him for a moment in thought.
No way. I'll be joining a guild soon. What would I look like sleeping with a teddybear.
I picked Nikko up and put him down on my bed to continue packing. While I was doing so my Papa walked in holding a small box.
"Sorey, I got a little something for. I wanted to give this to you when you were a bit older, but now I think the time is right." He stated.
I paused packing and accepted the box. Inside I found an enhanced looplet with a Waterium Z inside!
"You already know how to use this item because of the training sessions you had with your Uncle Spencer and his son Anubis. Knowing you, I should have to worry about you using this in the wrong places," he calmly said. I paused looking at the items in thought.
Whoa, now that's a powerful item.
"Ahem, Sorey, with great power comes responsibility." He stated.
I swear, I feel like I've heard that multiple times before.
"Okay, okay, Papa, I got it. Just let me finish up before it gets too late." I playfully stated. He smiled and soon left my room. I quickly finished packing all the important stuff and headed downstairs. As I arrived I noticed my father finishing the dishes.
"Looks like it's time now," He said, preparing to hug me. "Yeah, I'm ready now, Papa." I said hugging him one last time before heading towards the front door and telling him that I loved him a lot.
"Sorey, I'm going to miss you so much. Don't forget to write to me, and don't forget to visit me sometime with your new friends." He said, trying his hardest not to cry. I paused and started at him longingly before I left the house.
As the door closed behind me, I looked towards the sky and shouted that I was on my way to the coastal town of Draxel to join it's guild known as Infinity!
The Infinity Guild is stationed in a large wooden building filled with various facilities ranging from dining halls to outdoor training grounds. It is located on the edge of Drexel town on a cliffside that looks outwards the beach that bears a stunning view of the ocean. The guild has its own living quarters separate from its main building, that can fit a maximum of four Pokemon depending on side to a room. The dorms are mostly made of wood to get the feel of nature abundant. It's said that the guildmaster is… well, you'll eventually find out.
Later that day at Infinity's dorms, A Riolu could be seen emerging from the bathroom of his dorm.
"Ugh, that shower was so boring. I don't think they'll ever be as fun as they used to be." I said, drying the fur on my head with a towel.
I would have been nice to have some company. I thought with a slight blush.
"I wish my big brother were still with me. You're such a jerk, Ryu! Augh, why did you just leave me here and go off to join some other guild." I pouted.
Suddenly, I heard the sound of knocking and the sound of a familiar voice outside my dorm door. "Oh, Nikko, are you up yet?" The female voice asked.
That sounds like Serah. I thought.
"Yeah, just give me a moment," I said opening the door. As I did, Serah, a beautiful Braxien, with a pink ribbon in place nicely on her chest, entered into my room. "Morning, Serah. Have you decided on the request we're going to do today?" I asked.
"Nope, we're not going on a mission today." She stated sternly. I fell to the ground in shock of it. "Whoa, that's not like you. Did something happen," I asked, tossing my towel in the dirty clothes. She quickly took a seat on the spare bed next to mine and looked my way.
"Well, I've been thinking. Having just the two of us on a team isn't going to cut it. We need more members. That way we can take on more requests with better rewards and possibly even a greater challenge. As it stands we're getting nowhere real quick." She sighed laying down on the bed.
"Waitwaiteaitwaitwaitwaitwait, let me get this straight. Now you want to add more members, wasn't it you who said: 'It's gonna be me and you against the world, Nikko,' what happened to all that energy." I stated heading to my night table to grab my empty Flame Looplet.
"Geez, don't go bringing up that past like that. I don't need that shade on my like," she said playfully pouting.
"Heh, whatever. You're the leader here, so whatever you say goes. At least tell me that you have a plan for approaching this?" I asked helping her up. She immediately clapped her hands a single time. "Oh no, plan, let's just go balls deep into this like we always do! So our mission for today is simply to find two new members," she excitedly stated pointing her stick towards the ceiling.
How typical of her. I thought.
Suddenly, both our stomachs could be heard growling. She laughed visibly embarrassed and temporarily changed our mission to eating breakfast. Without delay she grabbed my arm and pulled me through the fairly empty hallways towards the dining hall. She was simply… overjoyed to smell breakfast being cooked.
A few minutes after we picked up our breakfast, we found our way to our usual wooden table that looked outwards towards the beach.
"Nikko, I think I know someone who would be a perfect addition to our team, Cyade Kokomo-o." She casually stated. I gagged on breakfast. "I mean just look at him, he's lonely over there by himself. What do you think Nikko?" She asked, smiling warmly towards me.
I think you're an insane woman. I thought.
"I quickly glanced over at him, and found that he was doing the same back at me. I blushed and looked away quickly. He stood from his seat and exited the dining hall. "No way, Serah. That guy doesn't even like me. He'd rather fight me than work beside me." I stated.
"It'll be fine, Nikko. I already talked to him about it telepathically just a few moments ago," she said casually laughing. I leaped over the table and shook her violently. "Serah, what in the world is wrong with you! Me and him just don't get along, we'll never be able to work as a proper team with that loser around." I shouted, releasing her. She simply giggled. "Geez, for a Pokemon that claims he doesn't like another, you're awfully worked up about this," she said smirking towards me.
"Damn it woman, I know what you're trying to do and I don't like it. Besides it's not like that. We're better suited as rivals anyway, so stop getting perverted ideas" I shouted, returning to my seat. Serah giggled and blushed with naughty thoughts of Cyade and me. I immediately slammed my head on the table in front of us in exhaust of here.
"Ahem, regardless, he said he'd join us only if you lose to him in a battle." She stated in slight laughter. I quickly thought to myself.
What?! Time out! So that stupid loser Cyade told Serah that he'd only join if he beat me in a battle?! That the hell is that loser even trying to prove with me. Ugh, knowing Serah she's probably gonna force me to through the match anyway.
I exhaled loudly. "You want me to throw the match don't you." I begrudgingly stated. She immediately pointed her stick at me and smiled.
I honestly hate her so much, how in the world did I even become friends with a woman this wild. I thought playfully.
As we finished our breakfast we quickly headed outside the guild towards it's Plaza. It was a rather large area that acted as a central point for the guild. It had many small facilities in it designed to help out the guild's members.
"Alright Serah. Do your creepy magic locator thing so we can find Cyade and get this crap over with," I said, suddenly being hit on the head by her. "Honestly, you are the most disrespectful Riolu I've ever met. Anyway, shut it so I can concentrate." She stated, quickly closing her eyes and glowing with a psychic light.
"I found him. He's at the town's shore line chilling at the beach. Let's get going before he moves," she said, suddenly opening her eyes and preparing to move. Before I took a step, I halted her. "Serah, let's get something real clear. I'm only doing this for the sake of the team, and nothing else." I stated, seriously.
I hope that shook of any suspicions she had of me liking Cyade, because I really don't like him. Like nothing about him is interesting in the slightest, she's so boring, and stupid, and annoying, and ugh! Why am I even still thinking about that dragon! I thought.
Serah turned and looked at me questionably and spoke. "Nikko, here's an honest question. Do you like Cyade?" Immediately forze like an Eiscue's head with anxiety!
My heart suddenly began to race, and I quickly became overwhelmed with nervousness!
Crap, I think we saying what I said earlier only increased her suspicions of me! What am I gonna do now! My paws are all super sweaty and I can't seem to properly control my breathing, so no matter what I say it will all seem suspicious. Still I can't remain silent, I have to hit her with a comeback and now. I thought.
"N-No, I already said that I hate him didn't I! I've been saying those things so that you would jump to conclusions like you are now!" I shouted, completely depriving myself of oxygen.
Perfect, that had to have shut her up about this. I mean it was totally believable. I thought.
Her eyes widened with shock, but slowly narrowed. A smile quickly formed on her face.
"Oh, I'm really sorry about judging you like that Nikko. It's just that I could have sworn that you had a crush on him or something. I mean, not that I would judge you or anything like… I mean, guy on guy intimacy is rather fasinating. Uh, I mean-Oh never mind. Shall we get going," She said, suddenly skipping off in laughter.
As we were walking down the rocky path towards the beach, we came across the leader of another team from our guild. She's a Hatterenre named Mason, and leader of Team BDSM. I have no idea what that means but it's just gonna be something I continue to roll with. We said our good mornings to her and continued to the beach quickly.
When we arrived we noticed that the town had a festival of some sort being set up. Serah sudhgested that we check it out some other time. I agreed, and as I did I looked off towards my left and noticed Cyade in the distance training his flamethrower. It was a spectacular move that-Ugh- what the hell am I saying!? I'm supposed to be narrating, not gawking at him!
Anyway, Serah grabbed my arm and rushed us towards him.
"Okay boys, I've been waiting a hot minute for this." She said releasing me, and watching as Cydae stopped and turned towards us.
Dear Arceus, does he have to be so sweaty, and why the hell is he glistening. I thought suddenly getting a nose bleed.
I quickly turned my back towards them to deal with it. "What's this? You getting cold paws Nikko-" she said suddenly be sucker punched by me! I immediately told him to shut it and fight me!
He stood and rushed towards Nikko using Dragon Rush! Nikko dodged just barely and grabbed him by the tail. As he did, Cyade's tail flew with a silver light and smacked him across the face. Disoriented a bit, Nikko summbled, and was suddenly fire punched in the gut!
He feel to his knees in pain nearly about to cry. As Cyade rushed towards him to finish Nikko with a Sky Uppercut, Nikko winked at him using attract, and infatuated him. Cyade was confused by this. Using this moment as an opportunity Nikko put Cyade in a headlock and slammed him into the sand. Slowly, Cyade could be seen eating an Eggant Berry and breaking Nikko's attract. This shocked him. Immediately following Cyade broke out of Nikko's grab and slammed him against the cliff side. With little to no energy left, Nikko was unable to move. Cyade slowly approaches him.
He invaded Nikko's personal space and whispered gently into his ear. "The only reason I'm joining your team, is so that I can be a constant reminder to you that I'm better than you. You're a weak Riolu that relies on cheap tricks to win in a fight. You're nothing like your brother, so you stop trying to be like him. Besides, your brother was more significant to you than you could ever be to him," She said, realising Nikko and watching as he cried on the ground in front of him.
He immediately turned towards Serah and told her that he'd be joining. She crossed her arms and looked Cyade in the face while he approached her. "Cyade, I know exactly what you're trying to do. However, I don't think your method will help him very much," She said calmly. Cyade closed his eyes for a moment before speaking. "I don't know what you're talking about. Nikko is my rival, and that's all." He said slightly walking ahead of Serah with a blush on his face. Serah smiled and walked towards Nikko with an Oran Berry.
