My Sand-Witch
Subaru came home early from school, after those Mukami brothers, decided to start pulling strings and pushing buttons. He couldn't stand it.
So, he just left and went home. Where Rune, was in the kitchen fixing...sandwiches?
"I'm home." He said grumbling.
"You are?! Why are- Are those boys being mean again? I knew I should have come along!" Rune said.
Rune is human, more or less, and Subaru takes responsibility of her most the time.
She is a member of a girls vampire hunting group, because she lost everything to vampires.
Though, she wasn't turned, the group saved her life and took her in. She doesn't do very much fighting, but she has to stay away from vampires, if she gets bit once, she'll die.
"It's fine Rune. Why are you making sandwiches?" Subaru asked.
"Because Yui was tired and I felt her, she might be coming down with a cold. I told those triplets if they kept her outside she'd catch something. They just don't listen." Rune and Yui were more about getting everyone to live like a peaceful family, then trying to turn against each other.
In other words, Rune was more outspoken and will stand up to all the vampires to keep their hands off Yui.
Subaru did give Yui his knief, but having Rune as her protector as well, makes things even more concerning.
"How many have you been making?" Subaru asked seeing all the plates on the counter behind him. It was like she was cooking...for an army.
"Just in case. Some have pig, cow, deer, duck, couldn't find any chickens, but I think turkey's are going to be coming out soon." Rune said.
In other words, these were for school, to give to other vampires so they don't mess with her or Yui. Not that Yui goes to school anymore.
"Are these for you and Yui?" He asked. He moved behind her.
"Are you hungry or nervous?" Rune asked.
"I'm asking about the sandwiches your making now."
"These are actually, for the damn squirrels. Poison with a little peanut butter." She said.
"I gave Yui her veggie sandwiches." She added.
Subaru hugged her from behind. "You are an evil little Sand-Witch." He said.
"But I'm yours." She whispered. "Can I finish these real quick and move them before you bite into me?" She asked as her voice got lower. His breath was causing her to lose her train of thought, as his hands tightened around her waist moving up her body.
"Hurry up." Subaru said. He let her go and headed out of the kitchen.
Rune caught her breath and finished fast. She set the food outside and ran up to her room.
"Okay, am I good? Should I change? Put my hair up?" She always wanted to look nice. Subaru was so nice and yet, she knew he couldn't actually bite her. Not with his fangs anyway. She was treated...like a person and not an animal.
"What are you doing?"
"Oh! I was..."
"You don't need to get all dressed up for my sake. Just be yourself. Besides, I don't want to meet your other self anytime soon."
Rune does have a secret to why she can't get bitten. She has a split personality. And that person, IS a vampire.
"Good point. I'll be there in a minute." She smiled.
Subaru walked over and kissed her forehead. "Don't be late." He said and left her room.
Rune sighed. "Subaru...I love you." She whispered to herself. She smiled in the mirror and ran after him.
"Knock knock. The Sand-Witch is here."
"Come on in, Rune."
The End
