Luna woke up to a shove. "Ow!" she cried out.
"Sorry," Luna looked up and saw Ginny. She gave her a hug. Ginny smiled at Luna but was also very angry at her. "Why did you break up with Neville?" she asked. Ginny sat next to Luna. "Oh and here, I saw Rolf, he told me to give you this. And here's a letter from Astoria Greengrass?" Ginny handed Luna a small box with a letter and a blue envelope with the Greengrass crest on it.
"I'm going on a trip to explore more creatures with Rolf in less than a month Ginny, and Neville is teaching at Hogwarts, we'll barely see each other," she said softly. "Anyways what did Tori say?" she ripped open the blue envelope and read the letter that was inside.
My Moon,
Well, it was expected. And jeez, you did not have to tell me you guys kissed a lot. Of course, I'll hang with you two lovebirds tomorrow, if Draco lets me. I forgot to tell you yesterday but Draco and I are engaged, but I'm sure you read the Daily Prophet. Anyways meet me at Marietta's Diamonds. I work there!
Your Hawk
Luna laughed. Ginny looked confused.
"'Your Hawk'? What does that even mean?" she asked.
"That's what her name means Ginny." Luna looked at the small box and letter that was apparently from Rolf. She opened the letter first, she unfolded it and smiled as she read it.
Luna,
I'd love to, but I'm afraid I'd be barging into your little gathering. Anyways, since I couldn't come, here's a necklace I saw a few days ago. I bought it because I thought it might look nice on you. Don't worry about the price tag. And of course, I'll see you tomorrow. I hope you feel better then, if not we can talk to your friend Astoria. She seems very nice. Luna, let's go out for dinner tomorrow, just the two of us.
With love, Rolf
Luna opened the box to see a beautiful silver necklace with a diamond jewel on the inside, it was shaped like a crescent moon and had the jewel floating in the middle. Luna gasped, she took out the necklace and admired it. Ginny grabbed the box and looked at the price.
"Luna this was 500 galleons." Ginny covered her mouth with her hand and gasped. Luna grabbed the box and her eyes widened as she saw the price. '498 galleons'.
"I can't take this." Luna gasped and put the necklace on. "Why would he give me-"
Ginny laughed. "Because he-"
"Luna? What are you doing here?" she was interrupted by Neville. Ginny looked up and put her hand to her face as if she had forgotten something.
"Shit, I forgot Neville was coming. Sorry, Luna." Luna shrugged and hid the letter in her pocket.
"It's alright. We're still friends," she said. "Right?" she looked at Neville who was not meeting her gaze at all.
"Yeah," he mumbled scratching his head. He then glanced at the necklace Luna was wearing and saw the box. "Nice necklace." he pointed out still not looking at her directly. Luna nodded.
Ginny smiled awkwardly. "Well, did you guys hear I'm getting married in December!" she said excitedly.
"That's great!" Neville said although his voice was longing. "I just got dumped!" he said mocking her tone.
"Jeez Nev, you don't have to be rude," Ginny said.
"Sorry, but she literally broke my heart!" he snapped. Luna frowned.
"You broke mine when you slept with Hannah Abbott!" she snapped back. Ginny's eyes widened. So that was one of the other reasons she broke up with Neville.
Neville opened his mouth then closed it. "I was drunk! Okay? I was upset because you got all hurt!"
"Neville stop." Luna started. "I love you."
"I'm sorry Luna, I shouldn't have done that," Neville said.
Luna sighed. "Of course not," she said.
"Luna do you forgive me?" he asked.
"Of course," she replied. Ginny smiled. Neville sat on the couch beside Luna awkwardly. He reached for her hand but she pulled it away and touched her necklace.
"Anyways as I was saying, he bought it for you because he loves you," Ginny said.
Neville looked at them confused. "Did your father buy you that?" he asked curiously. "It's gorgeous, it matches you perfectly." He leaned in and gave her a hug. Luna awkwardly hugged back.
"Nev, we broke up remember?" she said softly.
"That doesn't mean we can't hug." he replied confidently.
Ginny coughed. "I'm gonna go, Harry should be here soon. See you guys later." she stood up and left Luna and Neville alone.
"It's from Rolf," Luna said smiling. Neville frowned and his face looked a bit jealous.
"I'm sure he's a great guy," he said turning away from Luna. Why couldn't he have bought something Luna could keep forever? He bought her a dress but she wasn't going to wear a dress every day! And of course, she'd wear the necklace, it was beautiful. It was also a real diamond. Neville remembered looking at the box a few moments ago. '498 Galleons'
Luna grabbed onto Neville and sat on his lap. She kissed him. "I'm sorry we had to break up. I still love you though, you know that?" she said after pulling away.
"I love you too Luna." Neville held onto her waist and made sure she didn't lose balance. "I get what you mean, I'm having to go to Hogwarts, and you have to travel the world." he smiled. "I'm glad we're still friends." He leaned in and kissed her one more time. "You wanna stay the night at my place, for one last night?" he whispered.
Luna smiled. "You know I want to, but we can't Nev. I love you, but we have to learn to be apart."
"I know," he said hugging her. "I know," he repeated one last time.
"Sorry to break your moment, but dinner's ready," Ron said.
