Luna looked at her food and played with it using her fork. "Wow, this is really good Molly." She looked up and saw that it was Harry speaking. She sighed quietly. Neville looked at her longingly and sighed loudly. Ginny looked at Neville curiously, as he noticed her looking at him, he turned away quickly. Ron looked up from his food as he heard Neville sighing.
"Ok, what happened?" Ron huffed. "You and Luna have been sighing all dinnertime." Hermione looked at Luna and nodded agreeing. Molly smiled and left the dining table with Arthur leaving the young adults alone to talk. Harry looked at Neville a bit confused.
"I love Luna." Neville said, "But she thinks we should be apart." Even though they made up he was still mad at her. Luna stared at him angrily.
Ginny looked at Luna who was very angry and looked at Neville who was just upset. "Neville, if you really loved Luna you would accept her choice," she said. "Neville I know you love her a lot but you have to learn to let go," she paused and looked at him. "She also has another guy in mind right now," she added whispering under her breath. Luna blushed and hit Ginny.
"We're just friends!" she cried out.
"Whatever you say, Luna, I'm going to go," Neville said before standing up and walking quickly to the front door. Luna stood up and followed him while Ginny was about to chase after them but Harry stopped her. Luna soon ran outside where Neville was.
She looked at him, and he had tears in his eyes. She ran up to him and gave him a hug. He grabbed her and held onto her tightly. Neville kissed her forehead and left his lips against her forehead. She pushed him away. "Neville..." she started. He grabbed onto her hand and looked at her one last time before letting go. He apparated away. Luna cried.
Behind her, Ginny came up and gave her a hug. "It'll take time Luna, just be patient. He'll be back, you'll see."
Luna sighed loudly. "I guess I'll go home now Ginny," she said. "Goodnight." And with that, she apparated back to her father's house. She opened the door slowly and walked in. Her father was asleep on the couch, Luna walked over and put a blanket over him and walked quietly upstairs.
She sat on her bed and sighed loudly. She looked out her window to see the moon shining and the stars glistening, the moonlight shone on her and she frowned. Neville was mad at her, she could tell Ginny was a bit disappointed, Astoria is suddenly her best friend again, Rolf gave her a necklace. She looked at the diamond as it shone in the moonlight, it was twinkling like the stars in the sky. Luna smiled at that and stood up to get ready for bed. She laid on her bed thoughtfully, thinking of so many things. Had she made the right choice? Or should she get back together with Neville? She wanted to. Luna closed her eyes and began to drift into her wonderful dreams.
A few days later, Luna and Neville were still not speaking. Luna hung out with Astoria way more and became kind-of friends with Draco. She and Draco were walking down Diagon Alley to go shopping for a ring, as Draco hasn't bought one yet. Draco decided not to get the ring from the shop Astoria worked at and rather at a smaller shop owned by a girl named Athena Mayne, who was a jewel and gem collector and only collected the most real ones you could ever find.
"That will be 5,200 Galleons please." the girl said. "Your ring will be ready in 2 months' time." She waited impatiently tapping on her counter. Luna smiled calmly as Draco opened his mouth angrily, she grabbed onto his arm.
"It's okay," she said softly, she knew Draco wanted to ring earlier. "Miss Athena, is it possible that we could get the ring earlier?" she asked serenely. The girl with dark brown hair and brown eyes glanced at Luna.
"Fine, one month." she wrote something on her paper and waited for Draco to pay. He paid with a pouch and was about to leave the shop when the girl stared at Luna a bit oddly. Luna signaled him to leave and that she'll be out later.
"What is it?" she asked.
"You're Rolf's girlfriend aren't you?" she said jealously. Luna laughed. How did she know Rolf? Luna stared at Athena for a while, Athena was beautiful.
"No, we're just friends," she replied. "How do you know Rolf anyways?"
Athena stared at her for a second then looked away. "We were in the same year at Hogwarts together, I was a Ravenclaw though. We were pretty good friends we dated, I hardly think he knows me anymore though. I've seen you with him, he's usually shy but around you, he looks so comfortable."
"Really?" Luna asked curiously. "Well if you'd like I'm seeing him tomorrow, I could bring him by if you-"
Athena's eyes lit up happily. "Yes! Yes! Please!" she screamed excitedly. Luna smiled awkwardly and walked out the door without waving goodbye.
"Are you done?" Draco said a little bit impatiently. Luna nodded. "Well I got to go, it was nice seeing you." and by those words, he apparated with a crack. Luna continued to walk down Diagon Alley and decided to visit Astoria who was currently working now.
She walked into the store to see Rolf? Rolf was currently talking to Astoria who was laughing at a joke he probably said. Luna glared at them, Rolf was hers, not Astoria's. Luna gasped and ran up to him. "Rolf?"
Rolf turned around and was suddenly all red. "Umm hey Luna." he waved and was suddenly looking away from her. "W-well I have work, I'll see you guys tomorrow," he said before quickly walking away from Luna and apparating away.
"That was odd?" Luna pointed out confused. Astoria only laughed. "Tori, don't laugh! What were you guys talking about?"
Astoria ducked her head behind the counter before telling her manager she will be out for her break. "Oh Luna, don't worry about it!" she giggled. "I'm sure he was just busy," she added calmly. She grabbed onto Luna's arm and pulled her out of the shop. "You see Luna, can I ask you something?"
"What is it?" Luna asked a little bit annoyed.
"Do you like Rolf, would you date him?" Astoria asked.
Luna looked at Astoria confused. "What? Why are you suddenly asking me this?" She felt her cheeks turn red as she heard his name.
"No reason, just you haven't talked to Neville, and I know you guys broke up but you guys are still friends, right? You've also been hanging out with Rolf a lot." Astoria said calmly.
Luna blushed again hearing his name, did she like Rolf? She felt a warm feeling inside her and looked at Astoria. "One second, I'll be right back." And apparated.
