Lincoln hasn't been feeling himself ever since they came back from Mr. Dandridge's house. He could swear that there was something off about that guy, but he just wasn't sure. He wanted so badly to cast those thoughts aside, but his brain was telling him to focus on it, because he something was wrong here and that Mr. Dandridge was NOT good news. Still, he couldn't be too sure right now, as he decides to meet up with Clyde at the park. There, he starts to talk about Jerry right then and there...
Lincoln:"He seemed like a nice guy, but something keeps telling me that he isn't. He just didn't look...normal...or in the right decade. Seriously, he was dressed like he jumped out of the 1980's. Which, in hindsight, wasn't too bad of a time for men's fashion, but that doesn't compensate for-"
Clyde:"Lincoln, buddy, you're jumping off topic."
Lincoln:"Sorry. That was part of Leni in me talking. But you get what I'm saying, right?"
Clyde:"Come on, Lincoln. Caught the guy some slack. He's new to the neighborhood, it's probably gonna be a little awkward for everyone."
Lincoln:"Maybe. But something else about that seemed weird was that he stayed in the shade of his house. I swear I could've seen him backing away whenever the sunlight was close to touching."
Clyde:"Okay, he's probably a little sensitive to sunlight. No big deal. It's kinda like your sister, Lucy."
Lincoln:"Lucy can handle sunlight, Clyde."
Clyde:"...Sorry. I'm still getting to know her better. But you get what I'm saying. Give the guy a chance and let him fit in. You'll get used to him in no time. Trust me."
Lincoln:"...I guess. But still, that sunlight thing was just...odd."
Clyde:"Hmm...I think he's over it now."
Lincoln:"What makes you say that?"
Pointing over to somewhere, Lincoln and Clyde see Jerry was in the park, not to far away from them. He was talking to a few girls that Lincoln recognised as friends of Lori and Leni's. Carol, Becky, Dana and Fiona. The girls seemed to really like talking to him, as they seemed to enjoy whatever he was saying. In fact, it almost looked like he was flirting with them, as the girls seemed to attracted to him. Their conversation ended with Jerry handing them a piece of paper before he walks away from them...
Clyde:"See? He's just a regular guy."
Lincoln:"...No. He's not."
Clyde:"Lincoln..."
Lincoln:"I swear, Clyde. He was flirting with those girls!"
Clyde:"So?"
Lincoln:"That guy looked to have been in his twenties and he was flirting with a couple of teenagers! You know how wrong that is?!"
Clyde:"Okay, but that's normal!"
Lincoln:"Uh, no Clyde. It really isn't! I swear something's off about that guy, and I attend to find out."
Clyde:"Good luck with that. 'Cause I'm not helping you out. Talk to me whenever you're not being too paranoid."
Lincoln wanted to stop him as Clyde walked away. This new obsession of his, Lincoln feared, may drive him away from his friends and family. He now promises himself that that is not gonna happen, as he's tends to put to this tonight. He doesn't care if he's proven right or wrong, he just wants it to end.
It was later that night that Lincoln sneaked out of his house to go over to Dandridge's place. He had to make sure he wasn't seen, so he had put on his black 'ghost catching' suit. It was enough to keep him cloaked as he hid himself in a tree and waiting for Jerry. But the night was long and Lincoln felt himself growing tired. He was about to fall asleep right then and there until he saw a car pull up and coming out of it was Jerry himself and the girls from before, all four of them.
Lincoln:"What are you planning to do with them, Mr. Dandridge?"
He watched as Jerry lead all four young ladies into his house, where then, everything went silent. This was enough to prove the beginning of Lincoln's suspicions, as he then tries to slowly and gently bring himself back down...
?:"Hey, what are you doing up there?!"
Hearing a voice behind him, Lincoln immediately let's go of the tree and falls to the ground. He was a bit dazed at first, but not until he saw a shadowy figure towering over him. Quickly getting back up on his feet, Lincoln backs away until his back meets the tree and the figure approaches him...
?:"Oh, you're just a kid. Is this some kind of prank?"
Lincoln:"I'm sorry, sir! I didn't mean to sneak around! Please don't call the cops or my parents!"
?:"Hey, take it easy kiddo. I won't hurt ya."
As the man approached him, Lincoln got a better view of him. The person wore a grey button shirt over a black jacket, worn out jeans and black shoes. His hair was dirty blonde and old messy, not to mention his skin was pale and he looked like he hasn't slept in a while. Besides all that, he had a smile on his face and seemed like a pretty okay guy...just like Dandridge.
?:"My name's Eddy. But you can call me Ed. I'm Jerry's housemate."
Lincoln:"Um...I'm Lincoln, Mr. Dandridge is neighbor."
Ed:"I can see that. What up with the suit?"
Lincoln:"Oh, this is a ghost catching suit."
Ed:"Ghost catching? That's pretty cool."
Lincoln:"You think so?"
Ed:"Yeah. But, uh, mind telling me what you're doing here? Oh, wait. You already did."
Lincoln:"Look, I'm really sorry for sneaking around. But, something like Mr. Dandridge just didn't seem right to me."
Ed:"And this seemed like a good idea?"
Lincoln:"...Kinda."
Ed:"Look, I get it, kid. Jerry can be a little weird to some people, but there's nothing to worry about. He's a real nice person, once you get to know him, and quite the lady's man, if I do say so myself."
Lincoln:"Yeah, don't I know it."
Ed:"So why don't you just go home before you get into any really trouble?"
Lincoln:"Yeah...you're probably right."
Ed:"By the way, nice hair."
Lincoln:"Thanks!"
As Lincoln heads off, the smile on Ed's face disappears and is replaced with a glare as he enters the house. Inside looked better than on the outside, as the coloring and craftsmanship of the house was top notch. But that didn't matter to Ed at the moment, as he calls out to Jerry."
Ed:"DANDRIDGE."
The man himself then comes from the basement, where he's licking and wiping his lips. Neither men looked all very too happy to see each other...
Jerry:"(sarcastic) Hey, Eddy. Good to see you. When did you get here?"
Ed:"Nevermind me for a second. You got yourself a little problem...again."
Jerry:"What are you talking about?"
That was a close call for Lincoln, as he then tried to rest. But he couldn't sleep, considering what he saw. Four girls that he knew, being led into the house of a mysterious new neighbor. It was almost like something out of a horror movie. He had no idea how it could get any worse as moves around his bed and has his eyes shut tightly. The next morning, Lincoln looked dead tired as he got out of bed and rubbed his eyes. Getting himself ready for the day, he found himself the last one to gett up for breakfast, making his way to kitchen. But then, someone knocked at the door...
Rita:"Huh. Wonder who that could be this early?"
Upon his mother answering, Lincoln's eyes went wide to see Jerry Dandridge at his front door, having an innocent looking smile on his face.
Rita:"Oh, hello Mr. Dandridge! What brings you here?"
Jerry:"Oh, just checking to see if things were alright around here. I had a bit of an... unexpected visitor come around my house at night."
Lincoln could tell that Jerry was talking about him as he saw the man staring daggers at him. Unfortunately, the rest of his family was buying into his story.
Rita:"Gosh, that must've been frightening."
Lori:"Just what the neighborhood needed. More people breaking into homes."
Leni:"You didn't lose anything to that person, did you?"
Jerry:"No, Leni. You don't have to worry about me. I was just thankful that my housemate was there to scare him off."
Lola:"Good! I hope whoever it was learned their lesson!"
Jerry:"Well, if they don't...let's hope they will soon enough."
Rita:"Well, thank you for the warning, Mr. Dandridge."
Jerry:"Please, Mrs. Loud. Jerry. I must go now. See you later."
Rita:"Goodbye!"
It's almost as if Dandridge's gaze never Lincoln's eyes, even after he had left. Now Lincoln that up to this point, he was gonna be watched.
