Over the next few weeks (whether it is a complete coincidence or not; you decide,) Jac's health rapidly began to improve.
'I can't wait to get back to work.'
Joseph smiled. 'Just take it easy.'
'God knows what state Darwin's in.'
'It's fine. I'm there.'
'Will you stay?' She grabbed his hand. 'We can "Rule the empire" like we originally planned.'
Joseph stroked her cheek tenderly. 'We'll see.'
'I love you Joseph.'
Joseph slowly reached over and kissed her deeply and tenderly. 'I love you too.'
She smiled. 'At least I got you away from that murderous witch!'
'Careful! Otherwise I'll think that was your plan all along!'
'Would you really mind if it was?'
'Touché!' Joseph's attention then turned to an e-mail that Faye had forwarded him, a nurse position at Holby City that she had applied for, taking the "if you can't beat them, join them approach." Joseph knew he could make his decision then and there, his fingers hovered over the keys; he turned to look at Jac again and his heart leapt, he couldn't go through it all again, this was his chance to make the right decision; slowly he began typing – two separate e-mails – one to the board, one to Faye – it would change their lives forever.
'Everything alright?'
He sent both of them off and kissed Jac tenderly and deeply. 'Never better Darling, never better.'
