Chapter 15
Years ago, in another world, Carol and I were two under aged teenagers just sipping on a beer at her house steps. It was something we did as tradition on 'that' day... that year was different because it was their first taste of alcohol.
"I think we gonna end up like one of those chicks with daddy issues," she had confessed. Carol's gaze was glassy like a misty windshield on a rainy day.
"Well, at least your dad loved you..." I had sounded so angst like some emo-punk rock song in the early 2000s.
"You're always stressing over the details, Bon..." she trails off then looks at the sky thoughtfully. "My dad's dead. I can't say anything to him... at least you can tell yours you hate him."
I hadn't quiet replied after that.
..
Yawning tiredly as I trail tiredly behind the red-faced exorcist.
Allen- the poor boy was too polite to wake me up while I slept comfortably for hours on him.
Rain poured heavily as Allen kept his distance letting me sit on the only available seat near a sleeping man with a briefcase.
"It's delayed," he says absentmindedly looking around the crowded hall.
"Allen-kun! Bonnie!" calls a familiar voice. Simultaneously we turn.
"Lenalee!"
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
I lie my head on the table while I watch Allen scarf down his food.
chew chew chew
"Quiet the storm out there," Lenalee comments.
chew chew chew.
"It really is," he says mouth stuffed with food.
chew chew chew.
I flinched inwardly annoyed by the loud gnashing of teeth on food. Poor Lenalee is trying to talk too.
"There aren't any canals connecting to the Order around here, so we have to wait it out."
chew chew chew
Why do I feel the sudden need to choke this boy? Be social- idiot.
"Right!"
Her gaze turns to me and she smiles. "I was in Spain on a recovery mission but there wasn't anything there." she explains.
'Shops in Spain and hot Spanish men'... I mourn my loss.
She reaches in the pocket of her coat and pulls out a red ruby hair chip with a black lace rose designs. Her hands run to my hair and untangled a strand of my unknowingly messy hair. Gently I can feel her hands as she elegantly retracts her hands, she looks at me.
"It suits you!"
I flush slightly not expecting it. "You didn't have too," I say.
"I had time and you get me gifts when you go on missions. Also, when I saw the color, I instantly thought of you," she assures.
I reach out for the sliver knife smudged with butter to look at my reflection.
It wasn't too elaborate as I thought it would be and it did really suit me from what I can see. Goes with my hair.
I jump up and with more energy giving Lenalee a hug making her cute squeak in surprise unused to sudden attacks of hugs that Carol had often reined on me. I could see the appeal of doing it.
"Thank you Lenalee!" She looked positively bashful.
People's reactions are very fun.
"What you think Allen?" I ask looking at the white-haired protagonist. I met his eyes and he met mine in a daze and dropped it looking embarrassed.
"Ah, it looks good," he comments.
Lenalee giggles conspiringly. "How was your mission with Allen-kun, Bonnie?" she asks.
I roll my eyes knowing where her mind was going but alas, she was main token girl in this story. So, if anything Allen and her would be a thing. Plus, Allen is too much of a kid- if I would get with anyone it would be Krory or Lavi⦠Well mostly Lavi. Krory is like a son to me.
"We met Marshall Yeegar... he was a good talker. He also gave me a gift," I remembered reaching for my own pocket for the Happy Prince.
"He was so nice," agrees Allen."He treated us like his apprentices. It was a welcomed change."
Lenalee looks at the book curiously as she nods. "He is so wonderful. I learnt so much from Marshal Yeegar."
"He really is a wonderful teacher, isn't he? He was able to answer all of Bonnie's questions so patiently," he says.
Taking it too personally. "Do my questions annoy you, Allen?"
"Ah, that's not it," he backtracks looking panicked. "I mean you kept him till late into the morning and he was stayed up to answer and speak with you," he points out.
I cringe a little. I hope I didn't cause him any issues. I mean he looks kinda old and old people need their rest.
"How old is Marshall Yeegar?" I ask curiously.
"He should be 89," answers Lenalee and both Allen and I choke simultaneously as we look at each other,
"He threw an Akuma at a face cliff," Allen says.
I nod my head remembering the incident... He's like Yamamoto from Bleach when he takes of his uniform and you find out the man in ripped underneath.
"He's one of the oldest at the Order. He's been at the Order for 40 years," comments Lenalee.
"One of the oldest- not the oldest? So there is someone older?" I ask.
"Ah well- I'm sure. There is Hevlaska too," she points out.
"Isn't she an Innocence? Does she count? What about the other General? Isn't there some Tiedoll guy?"
"Marshall Froi Tiedoll? We should ask Brother when we get back," suggests Lenalee thoughtfully who looked like she was wracking her brain about.
"Well regardless about Marshall Yeegar. I hope I can see him again," Allen says.
I nod in agreement. If he returns to the Order maybe we'll make a book club.
Allen puts his last dish down empty of its contents, sighing satisfied.
I shake my head fondly and Lenalee laughs.
The little black golem flies above and Lenalee siffens worry ebbed on her face.
"Emergency call- What could it be?"
She gets up and answers the phone. Allen tenses in his seat as he watches her.
Allen jumps suddenly dropping a mug of coffee...
I blink looking back and forward from the two.
How good in Allen's hearing. Did he hear what going on?
He looks at me and a look of sadness passes over it.
"It's Marshall Yeegar he-"

I stay back as Lenalee and Allen went to assist the Marshall... something about orders from above and I was to standby for Komui.
Too preoccupied with my own thoughts to care about 'reasons'- a dull throb erupted on my temples.
Ashibumi, I began to place my footing in a 'v' stance with practiced ease as Shimazu drilled into me.
Dozukuri... balancing.
I didn't look as the Marshall was brought in. All I needed was the expression from the Allen and Lenalee to make me cowardly retreat without anyone to notice.
Standing there alone...
I pretend to grip a bowstring with my right hand, left hand pulls the imaginary string... I skip the step of looking up at my fantasy target as I raise the bow before pulling the strings in full draw then release.
I've gotten better.
A pair of brown leather shoes stop in front of me and I see the gleam of glasses of Supervisor Komui.
"Bonnie?" his eyes held both a question and concern.
"Down the hall," I instruct not moving.
'I didn't want to see,' was my unspoken answer.
A look of understanding crosses his face and with his hurried walking to get here- I would of thought he would of walked away. Instead he touches my shoulder forcing me to look at him. He offers me a comforting smile before making his way down the hallway.
I follow slowly behind Komui as he bursts in. Not having the courage to go inside I lean against wall next to the open door.
"The Millineum Earl is looking for you
Looking for you, you precious Heart!
This one is not it, but what about the next?
Looking for you, you precious Heart"
...
...
Bookman senior and Lavi enter the room before I could realize he passes me. The later looks at me curiously before making his way to the room.
"Precious Heart?" Allen's voice questions the million dollar question.
"There's a central Innocence, a heart of sorts, which we've been searching for," Komui explains.
Why was this brought up so late?
"It is the root of all Innocence fragments' power and holds the ability to destroy them all," says Bookman.
And the Earl takes so many centuries to make a move and find this thing while we were in war for so long.
"Only when we find and acquire the heart will we finally stop the destruction of the world. The Earl is looking for an Innocence known as the Heart."
"The Millineum Earl is looking for you
Looking for you, you precious Heart!
This one is not it, but what about the next?
Looking for you, you precious Heart"
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
The two seniors in our party, Komui and Bookman sit in front of us in a lavish carriage.
Far more Lavish and less lived in compared to the Marshall's carriage. Did that get destroyed too. I should have asked about the Finders.
I sit at the far end of the carriage, a space between Lenalee and I. Allen then Lavi sitting in front of Bookman.
"The Innocence Heart?" says Allen.
"Yes, the Cube doesn't say anything about just what this Heart is or how we might recognize it."
"That particular Innocence fragment may have already been recovered and placed in the hands of its host. The Millennium Earl may think that a particularly powerful exorcist plays host to the Heart."
"The Marshall was their first target. The Noah clansman who came with the Akuma were no doubt sent to offset his strength."
Bookman takes over the exposition dump next and I found my thoughts turning to the Marshall...
I just met him and I didn't know much about him to say I was heartbroken but he was a good man...
I guess he would have been what I wanted as a father. Wise, kind and stern... someone who you could talk too... and he just. He's gone- just like that. I never got to really know him and I just feel off... not sad, not angry...
"Bonnie," a voice calls pulling me out of my daze.
Troubled gazes from Lenalee and Allen was turned to me.
"Yeah," trying not avoid the critical gaze from Bookman... why do I feel judged.
"You'll be travelling with Bookman and Lavi to meet up with Mister Krory then you will continue to search for Marshall Cross," offers Komui with a patient smile.
"Oh okay..."
...
Silence fell within the carriage; the sound of galloping horses and crick crack sound of the carriages weight being pulled on uneven ground.
I feel immensely pressured to say something.
"Do you like my clip!" I began to brag looking at Komui. "Lenalee got it for me from Spain."
...
...
...
"AH! my darling Lenalee has such good taste! Did you get your brother something!" he looks at Lenalee going to sis-con mode.
"Brother..." Lenalee's exasperation was clear on her face.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
"So, what's the deal, Bon Bon? Being silent isn't usually your thing," says the incredibly nosy red head.
My shoulders tense and I couldn't help the bubble of annoyance that was attacking my thoughts. I almost walked into a tree.
'You don't know me enough to know what my thing is.'
Instead, I do that thing face muscles do and offer a patient smile. "Oh, I'm just having one of those days. I guess the Marshall's attack came as a surprise."
"Huh," he replied almost blankly. He mirrors my own expression. "Well we are at war. So, causalities are going to be an expected," he states.
Bookman is silent with the exchange as he observes and I give him nothing from my expression as Lavi's words sink in.
A war...
"There are wolves and bears in this forest." a voice says and I look around curiously to have Lavi shush me as we make our way through the bush. "What would you do if they become attracted to your voice and attacks us?"
"In that case, I Arystar Krory, would defeat the-" he jumps as Lavi purposely shakes the bush.
"-A bear!"
Bookman and I give Lavi side eye.
"What are you doing, Kro-chan?" asks Lavi.
"Bonnie, Lavi and Bookman!" he cries shocked."Don't scare me like that." he crouches on the floor as if having a panic attack.
...
...
Sighing as we make our way up a mountain, my mood soured considerably...
"Lavi, Bonnie have you two come to support me?" asks a curious Krory as I trail back with pace of the Finder.
"Komui asked us to!" answers Lavi.
More like told there was no 'asking' involved.
"I could have handled this alone! There have been several incidents recently where people have disappeared from the village near here. I will solve this case!"
Just like Jacques Clouseau.
"You're really into this Kro-chan." comments Lavi lazily.
"Of course! When I figure out what's going on. I'll be a hero. The people would adore me."
Didn't take Krory as a narcissist.
"I've been practicing my autograph!" he pulls out to cards with scribbles on it. Bookman sighs and Lavi and Toma look uninterested.
"-To be an exorcist is a wonderful calling one that which contributes to the greater good. It's truly what I'm searching for."
"Right Right," Bookman, Lavi and Toma walk on ahead and I find myself becoming very worried. Krory is a newbie like me.
"Bonnie," calls Krory concern glittering in his eye and I found that I was starring right at him.
"Are you okay?"
"Ah well-" I hesitate. What do I say? This is a war- take this seriously?... You could die?... Stop being childish?
"Um... I was-" looking at his face devoid of that childlike excitement- I found myself mentally kicking myself.
"I was thinking that every hero needs a heroic line! I wonder what would suit you," I explain.
"A heroic line?"
"Like your entrance line! Heroes have an entrance line like um... 'Never fear for I am here!'" I say ending up with an All Might voice
"-or 'Dynamic Entry!'" I say imitating Might Gai.
"AH I see! I should have an entrance line to alert the people and reassure them," he says nodding in understanding.
"There's a town!" calls a voice Toma causing Krory to go starry eyed as he runs off.
"Never fear! Your Hero has arrived!"
I couldn't suppress the fond smile.
I need to stop being so pathetic.
...
We stop at a church, the town like every other town nothing interesting and just rather empty looking.
"This town feels awfully peaceful," comments Bookman.
"Yeah, I get that feeling too..." trails of Lavi.
"The town we're in..." says Krory while I watch everyone huddle around him with a map clasped in his hand. "It's not one of the towns which have been having disappearance."
"It's happened to most of the towns in this area, so it may very well happen here soon enough," Toma informs him.
"The people are no doubt living in fear!"
A freaking baby goat? runs past us being chased by a gaggle of kids.
Urgh those things have scary eyes.
"-anyway, I will crack the case and become a hero!"
I leave Krory and everyone to go question the village people while I hang back, humming the pink panther theme song.
"Beast?" was the confusion that rang in our heads as Krory spoke to a brother and sister duo.
The kids led us to their home.
"There's a beast here?" Krory asks.
"Yeah!"
"Ah, you're home, you two!" says a brown-haired beaded man in farmers clothes.
"Hi, Dad!"
Are these two twins?
"These guys want to meet the beast," says the boy.
"The beast?" the man repeats in confusion. "Hey, beast!" the man calls.
"Did you call?" says a massive frog Akuma thing that looked more like a mascot than weapon of human destruction.
Maybe even a Muppet.
"It sets my teeth on edge! There is no mistaking it. It's an Akuma!" shouts Krory as everyone but me that takes out a weapon.
Krory and Lavi were enough to take one down. Also, the look the villagers gave us was more concerning.
"An Akuma?"
"A beast which consumes human life!"
"Me?" it repeats backing up.
"Who are you?" asks the farmer.
"We're exorcists. Those who fight Akuma."
"Exorcists?"
"Now, I know. You're the culprit of the disappearances!"
"D-disappearances? What do you mean? I have done nothing wrong," Kermit the frog says.
"What are you plotting?!" questions Lavi as he lifts up his hammer about to bring it down on it
"No! I'm not plotting anything! I'm just working on this farm. It's true believe me!"
The rest of the villagers even the two kids gathered in front of him as if shielding him.
Wow Lavi is a really good interrogator.
"You see at first the villagers were afraid of me. However, once they knew I wasn't bad they accepted me. They taught me how fun it was to work on the fields. I couldn't do anything to them..."
They call you 'beast' though... why didn't they give him a name? Or ask for a name?
"I'm not gonna believe what an Akuma says," Lavi says as he and Bookman move forward and I hesitate as I was about to activate my own Innocence.
Lavi and Bookman are more experienced... They probably knew if an Akuma was lying or not no matter what my feelings are. I couldn't risk Toma or Krory because I lowered my guard.
"No!"
The two younger kids attack Lavi's hand stopping him even biting him.
"Dude, he's gonna kill you, damn it!"
"He will not!" says the farmer dad with such firm conviction. "After working for him for so long, we know that he has a kind heart."
-but you call him 'beast.' Isn't it a demeaning?...
"But..."
"He isn't an evil being as you described. He's one of us."
"Sir, thank you all!" cries the Akuma hugging him regardless of being treated like some nameless spawn character in a fantasy game.
"Deception is an Akuma's trade," snipes Lavi coldly.
I bit my lip. This could be different. Maybe they could change. I recall the later seasons that Lavi makes friend with a more humanized Akuma.
Lavi attack was stopped by Krory grabbing him. "Kro-chan let go!"
Krory shakes his head.
"Krory?!" sighs Lavi almost both exasperated and reluctant.
"That may be so but perhaps... he's like Eliade. Some Akuma may indeed be pure of heart."
Eliade... beauty and the beast... maybe it's like then.
"And how are you gonna prove that?" was Lavi reply clearly not having any of it. "It will be to late when shit hits the fan!"
Krory nervously scratches his head in thought.
"Everyone come quick!" yells a voice.
"Hey!" a group of three men get closer to us.
"It's Udel town!"
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXx
As we walk through the down of the abandoned town the clothes of already disintegrated bodies flutter amidst the smoke and fire. I pass a little doll made of obvious stitches from the many tears, it wore a pink dress with threaded yellow hair. Clothes belonging by a child around 8 or 10 years old was beside it.
The implications were there and I didn't have to be here when it happened to see it. To feel utterly helpless.
"When I came to deliver the milk yesterday, nothing was wrong. It was just a single night. How could they all disappear in a span of one night?"
Disappear? They're dead. I couldn't hear more.
The world was deafened with silence.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
I go with Lavi as he investigates around town about the attacks.
"Where was that Akuma yesterday?" he questions.
"Will you give it up?" complains the bobbed headed woman.
"Look, we just want information. If he is as innocent as you say- it shouldn't be a problem," I try to placate the tense atmosphere.
"He's not an Akuma. He is a beast! He was working with us till sunset!" intervenes her partner. "At night, he was at a shack in the mountains. The landlord's loaning it to him. Is that good enough?" The two turn their noses up as they walk away disdainfully.
If anything, their loyalty to it is endearing.
"How can you still suspect that Akuma? Bonnie, I thought you would at least be on my side about this!" Krory tone spoke of betrayal. I felt in the wrong for going along with Lavi but covering the obvious suspect whereabouts was essential when lives are on the line.
"The culprit has to be another Akuma!"
"I hope so..." Lavi said unapologetically.
"I know it has to be. I will find the real culprit!" insists Krory.
Lavi and I watch him as he storms off.
"What do you think about this Bonnie?" he asks.
"What do you mean?" I question him, not use to him without a third party.
"You didn't go with Krory. It's kinda obvious you want that Akuma to be innocent, but you stayed..." he trails.
"I-" hesitating briefly. "I guess I want to believe in Krory- so I have to make sure that this Akuma is innocent."
"You know this is about Miss Eliade, right?"
"Yes, but even Eliade... she genuinely was fighting her urges to be with Krory. She was supposed to kill him but didn't. If Akuma are the Earl's weapons and they could be reformed well... they were once human and we should give them a chance."
I remembered Eliade's smile as she spoke about Krory over a cup of tea.
We'd still have to fight Noah but if we didn't have to worry about Akuma then that would also help us greatly.
"Something like that would be amazing to record," smirks Lavi.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
It was late afternoon, watching the sun set and the sky turn orange. The towns folk were huddled in the church talking about their neighboring town's disappearances.
"We'll keep watch over the village surroundings," informs Lavi. "Toma, you follow the Akuma."
"You're sending the Finder?" I blink surprised.
"Well, Akuma sense Innocence. If the Akuma knows we're following, he is going to be careful with his actions."
I was walking in the wood with Krory who said nothing to me. The tension was thick and I was clueless on how to break it. I hadn't known him for long but him being mad was ebbing on my nerves and guilt.
Too bad I didn't go with Lavi or Bookman.
A scream interrupted the silence of the woods and Krory rushed ahead without waiting for me.
I try to catch up but Krory's long legs has me at a disadvantage.
"I'm too late..." he says as I finally make it to him watching the flames of the town below.
"Damned Akuma!" curses Lavi who came out of nowhere.
Bodies disintegrated all plagued with star shaped curses on their skin the only evidence that the Akuma left. I rush through the flaming town to look for any survivors.
Has to be someone! The flames of the fire almost burn my skin as I look frantically around. Then I see it. A small hand in the ruble.
Tripping through the wreckage of concrete and steel rods. I began trying to dig through to pull the child off.
I had to do something! To save one life even. As I pull the child out. I notice the stars plaguing his body. And just like that he crumbles to dust.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Krory was in a weird mood.
I was in a weird mood.
Our atmosphere was as gloomy as the sunless sky.
Lavi was just normal like the town last night didn't go up in flames and many lives are gone. The longer you're an exorcist do you become desensitized to all this?
We watched the towns people going about their day when it happened.
It occurred in slow motion... The fall of the beautiful stained glass of the church. The town's treasure.
Lavi moves quickly toward the glass.
"Is everyone okay?"
I blink when I see the green light of the Innocence.
"So that's why it felt so peaceful in this town," comments Bookman.
I activate my Innocence... that could only mean an Akuma attack. Looking around frantically for the Farmer's kids.
"Argh!" cried out Kermit the Akuma as it shakes its head frantically. It picks up its clawed hands making an attempt to attack those children.
Deep breath in.
I manage to tackle both kids away. Krory stops the Akuma's weapon. "You two, go to your father!" I instruct as Bookman and Lavi take care of the flock of Akuma making their way toward us.
Akuma appear in droves like vultures finding the last piece of meat in an endless barren desert.
The children don't move in fear.
"Why did you betray these children?" cries out Krory.
"He didn't betray them! That's his true form!" says Lavi pushes the Akuma away from Krory with his hammer. Bookman walked toward us with the Innocence.
"That is the real reason he came to town. This town was protected by the holy power of the Innocence, whose field of effect was amplified through the church stained glass window. Level one Akuma couldn't enter the Village. A level two like this guy could get in but his personality changed to his polar opposite. However, when he existed the field- his evil personality returned. It was he who attacked the other villages," Lavi explains.
I gasp... I remember the child last night.
"The Akuma that the villagers and Kro-chan trusted was an illusion." Lavi turns to me offering me an almost considerate look. "I guess the theory that this would end different was an oversight. Akuma are evil."
"Was what I really saw was a fraud!" cries Krory being thrown around.
He hit the ground hard.
"I want to believe in good Akuma." His body is slammed against a large rock.
"What is he doing?" questions Lavi.
I take a deep breath, filling my air with lungs and got into my stance.
"Innocence!"
Aim
BANG!
The arrow goes right through Kermit and almost like a balloon popped. Krory uses his body to project the kids.
The little girl starts to cry.
"It's all your fault! If you hadn't come, he wouldn't have had to die. He wouldn't have turned into an Akuma."
At that moment I was glad I didn't bother to remember their names.
"Give him back! Give us back our beast!" demands the girl. "Give him back, give him back!"
"Enough you two! Stop it," says the Farmer rallying up both his kids.
"Be he a beast or an Akuma, I don't care. As we knew him, he was kind and pure of heart. If you insist on calling him a monster, you are a monster yourself! Get out of this village this instant!"
"Oh gladly!" I couldn't help but hiss back loudly.
"Bonnie-" I could hear Lavi's warning me.
I don't know if this was gonna be some moment that Lavi or Bookman would speak up or maybe Krory would stand up for himself. I didn't care... I was so done with this. To hell with being considerate to a plot I hardly knew shit about!
I held myself back in Romania with the villagers kicking Krory out.
I held myself back when those three guys and that flower girl took advantage of him on the train.
I was so done.
Screw Canon!
I'm burning the script.
"I guess calling him a 'beast' sounded better than a 'monster' right? I mean if you really cared you would have given him a proper name."
"Instead you call the guy who saves your children's lives a monster... I wonder what makes you people? People who rather live ignorantly while your neighboring towns get attacked by this thing you wish to protect so much!"
"W-wait Bonnie-" I hear Krory wave his hands frantically but I ignore it.
I didn't care if I was scaring those kids or making enemies.
"A child died yesterday because of your 'beast.' Not 'disappeared', died. This was because we listened to you! We listened to you and that 'beast' attacked the town and those people were killed!" I huff, feeling out of breath, dull headache of previous days returning and heart pounding in my years.
"Leave your town? Don't waste your breath," I sniff spinning around on my heel leaving a satisfying air of silence as I exited this dump.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXxx
Our trip down the mountain was more silent than before and there was patent air of tension that I knew was my doing. My chest felt tight and my face warm and flush.
Space- I needed space.
"B-B Bonnie are you okay?" stutters Krory.
Space is too much to ask for...
"Krory," I began stopping my walk, the words I had been holding back all coming out meaner than intended. "Joan of arc, Diarmid O'Dyna, Archilles... these are heroes who died painful or tragic deaths. Do you really want to die for people like that?"
There was silence and I was just about to start walking again when he finally speaks.
"I am truly glad to be an exorcist... I... no we saved that whole village- saved many lives- so I don't have any regrets!" he says.
I don't really get it. What's up with all the idealism in these characters. Don't they want more from life than this. Being the people's punching bag while you protect them.
I don't even know if Krory is too nice or under developed as a character.
"A true hero faces all odds. Pushing through their limits and putting their values on the line. Going on beyond in search of the unattainable." Bookman voice startles me more by his words. "Krory you have shown great strength and potential as an exorcist."
Krory preens and grins giving me a reassuring pat on the shoulder. "Well done today Bonnie we saved lives!"
I watch Krory walk off ahead dropping that plastic smile I offered him.
"I'm surprised you're so optimistic." I comment as Bookman passes me.
"Something I heard someone say once," he offers in response.
What do you think? Bonnie really starting to change the things in the plot.
