SMACK! Spider-Man swung in, splats to a stop on the side

of the OsCorp Building, near the base. He looked up, saw the elevator falling toward him.

He crawled to the machinery panel atop the elevator works.

SMASH! He dove in through the glass, reached into the machine room, grabs hold of the loose cable as it flew by!

He groaned in pain, wrapped both hands around the cable and fell back to the ground, but still it whizzed through his hands!

The Goblin roared down the building, atop his Glider, screaming in anger.

"NO!" Goblin cried.

Still, the elevator plummets! Harry, Kuri and Reiko have gone weightless, they're plastered against the ceiling!

Kuri is keeping them in a protective bubble, trying to save them, but her power is running out.

Down below, Spider-Man squeezed the cable as hard as he could. Blood seeped through his gloves. He was in agony!

The Goblin opened his Goblin bag, releasing half a dozen small black winged objects into the air. They swarmed over Spider-Man,

Buzzing and Beeping horribly.

Spider-Man was forced to take one hand off the cable, to try and swat them away. He reached out and snared one, but he immediately released it, shouting in pain.

"Do you like my razor bats?" Goblin asked mockingly.

The razor bats swarmed around Spider-Man, slashing his skin and costume. But he was forced to put both hands back on the cable, to try and abate the elevator's deadly plunge! He looks up- it was only a hundred feet above, and still dropping!

"Would you like to meet the rest?!" Goblin mocked.

He turned the Goblin Bag inside out, releasing another half dozen.

Spider-Man was surrounded, and slowly being cut to ribbons. Desperate, he leapt up into the sky, through the black swarm that was slowly killing him.

"Hang on, hang on!" Spider-Man cried.

He squeezed even tighter.

The elevator approached at breakneck speed!

The Goblin reached into his bag again, pulled out a pumpkin bomb.

He pulled a hand back, to throw the bomb. The hand started forward-

-but was stopped in mid-air, grabbed-

-by the clawed end of a metal tentacle!

A second claw seized the Goblin's other hand, a third claw grabbed the pumpkin bomb and hurled it hundreds of feet into the air, a fourth claw grabbed the Goblin around the neck.

Spider-Man looked up, amazed.

Doc Ock threw open his human arms, sending the overcoat

flying off of his shoulders, just as the bomb he hurled explodedin the sky above, washing him over with brilliant light and thunderous noise.

Spider-Man grimaced, tightened his grip on the cable one final time-

-the greased, spinning wheel slows, slows-

-and the elevator groaned to a halt, bumping to the ground. Harry and Reiko tumbled to the floor of the elevator, and Kuri's power bubble spluttered out as the doors dinged open

on OsCorp Plaza revealing-

-the ongoing fight, which includes, the Goblin, held aloft by

Doc Ock's tentacles, and Spider-Man, writhing in pain on

the ground, his hands torn to shreds by the elevator cable.

"Thought you'd never see me again, didn't you Osborn?!" Doc Ock said.

Harry turned, eyes wide, to look at Doc Ock. Who, me?

Spider-Man turned, eyes wide, and looked at Harry. Who, him?

"I've awaited this moment, Norman!" Doc Ock said.

Harry and Spider-Man both turned, eyes wide, and looked at the Goblin.

Who, HIM?!

Using a free tentacle, Doc Ock reached up and ripped the helmet from the Green Goblin's head, revealing Norman Osborn's maniacal face underneath.

Spider-Man, Harry, Reiko and Kuri were, well, you know. Surprised. Well, Reiko wasn't.
