Tammy kept running and running to get away from the Zomboys. She managed to climb up a tall tree. Once she was high enough, she immediately took out her phone and called Frankie.
"Tammy! What's up?" asked Frankie.
"Me up a tree! That's what's up!" Tammy replied. "Monica's Zomboys are chasing me and keeping me away from the party!"
"See! I told you she was up to something!" Helen's voice said from Tammy's phone.
"Take it easy, Helen." Frankie said gently. "Tammy, just stay where you are. Helen and I will go get you."
"Okay! And Frankie, hurry!" Tammy said before hanging up. She looked down and saw the Zomboys lurching around, still trying to find Tammy. The Zomboys were persistent, but very low on brains. They would never think to look up and check the trees. "I just know Moanica's behind this..." she muttered to herself.
Back at Monster High, Brenda and Patti were wandering down the hallway. "This set up is amazing!" said Brenda.
"Yeah, really creepy..." said Patti, moving closer to Brenda.
Stalking behind them was Moanica, ready to strike. "It's about to get much creepier, normies." She ran, lunging for them when something made her trip. She fell, landing flat on her face. She looked up and saw the normies long gone and Skelly and Bonesy holding the wire that tripped Moanica.
"Oh, dear. You should be more careful, Moanica." Skelly teased.
"Yeah, Moanica. No running in the halls." said Bonesy.
"You boneheads!" Moanica hissed.
Faster than you can say, 'King Tut,' mummy bandages wrapped around Moanica until her entire body was mummified. Cleo strutted out of the shadows, looking her nose down at the zombie. "You never learn, do you, Moanica?" She snapped her fingers and two of her family servants picked up Moanica and carried her away. Moanica screamed in anger, yelling every angry and nasty she can think of. Thankfully, her mouth was covered up.
"Now that Moanica's taken care of, we better find those humans." Skelly said. He and Bonesy went to find them.
Meanwhile, Brenda and Patti were still wandering around Monster High. "It feels like we've been wandering forever! Just how big is this place?" Brenda said. "How are we suppose to find the party?" She came upon a door that was slightly open. Curious, she opened the door and went inside.
"Brenda! I don't think we should go in there!" Patti said.
"Relax, Pat. There's nothing in here but a dusty coffin." Brenda said, pointing to the coffin.
Patti gulped. "What if there's something inside?!"
"Patti, it's just a decoration. There's nothing-"
"Just then, the coffin slowly opened. Brenda and Patti gasped when a hand slowly came out from inside the coffin. Dracula rose from the coffin and let out a big yawn. He was dressed in his vampire best. A black suit with a high pointed collar. He smiled to himself and turned, seeing two humans in his bedroom. "What is this?! What are you two doing here?!"
Patti screamed. But not Brenda. "Wow! Nice vampire act!" said Brenda.
The door swung open. It was Harriet Wolf. "Dracula! What's going on?!" She gasped at the two humans.
"Cool! Are you suppose to be a werewolf?" asked Brenda. "You look great!" Brenda suddenly felt her arm being pulled by Patti.
"D-Don't mind us! We were just leaving!" Patti said nervously as she pulled Brenda out of the room.
"Patti! What are you doing?!" said Brenda.
Patti leaned in real close. "I think we made a terrible mistake." She pulled Brenda through the door and rammed into something with a loud clack. Patti and Brenda fell to the ground and saw skeleton bones scatter on the ground. The girls gasped when they saw Skelly and Bonesy reassemble themselves.
That's all it took.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
Patti and Brenda ran for it. They tried to find the exit but ran into another room, the room where every monster in school was!
The monsters froze. The humans froze. No one made a sound.
Until ghost girl Ari Hauntington came through the floor. "Guys! I brought some more snacks!' She held out a bowl of candy. Confused seeing her monster friends in shock, she turned around and gasped seeing two humans. She dropped the candy and the humans screamed again.
"GHOST!" Patti screamed.
"LET'S GET OUT OF HERE!" Brenda shrieked. They took off, leaving the monsters panicked.
"Were those humans?!" said Deuce.
"Sure looked like humans!" Clawdeen said, panicking.
"What are we going to do?!" said Draculaura.
"We have to find them and explain everything!" said Lagoona. "They could expose us to the rest of the humans!"
Voicing their agreements, the monsters went after the humans.
Outside Monster High, Tammy, Frankie, and Helen arrived on Helen's scooter. Tammy got out of the sidecar. "I can't believe Moanica would have her Zomboys keep me away from the party!"
"You can't believe it? She does stuff like this all the time!" Helen said.
"You guys, I know what Moanica did was bad, but we can't just retaliate. That's exactly what she wants! Fighting fire with fire only gets you in trouble with the park ranger!"
Helen and Tammy looked at Frankie in confusion.
"That was a human expression I learned." said Frankie.
"Oookay...I don't know what kind of human you heard that from." said Helen. "But you make a point. Let's just forget Moanica and enjoy the party."
The girls opened the door and collided with a girl in a blue dress and a giant bunny. They fell into a painful heap. Once Tammy regained her composure, she saw what, or technically who, she bumped into. "Patti?! Brenda?!"
"Tammy! What are you doing-" Patti stopped and screamed, pointing at Helen's head that was rolling down the stairs. Patti and Brenda started to panic until Tammy let out a sharp whistle.
"Guys! Calm down! These monsters are my friends!"
"You're...friends?!" said Brenda. She and Patti watched Helen reattach her severed head.
"The real question is; what are you guys doing here?!" Helen shouted. "How did you find this place?!"
"W-We got an invitation from Tammy telling us to meet us here for a Halloween party." Patti nervously took out the invitation.
"What?! I didn't send you guys an invite!" Tammy took the invitation from Patti and looked at it. "This isn't even my handwriting!"
Frankie looked at the invitation. "And I think I know who wrote it." Frankie pointed to a blot of green that was on the invitation. "That's graveyard mold green nail polish. And I know only one zombie who wears that color."
"Moanica!" Helen and Tammy said.
"So, she's behind all this insanity!" Helen stomped her foot.
"Uh, hello? We're still confused over here!" said Brenda. "What the heck is going on here?!"
Tammy sighed. It was time to confess.
Back at the party room, Tammy and her monster friends explained everything to her human friends.
"So, you have to keep this a secret." said Draculaura. "Not until humans are...okay with monsters living among them. It's not impossible, just challenging."
"So...you guys are nice monsters?" asked Patti.
"Yeah! We all are! Well, except Moanica. She's...a work in progress." said Frankie.
"That's code for jerk." Helen whispered to Lagoona, who gave Helen a nudge.
Patti and Brenda looked at each other, then looked at the monsters. "Okay, we'll keep your secret." said Brenda.
"Really?!" said Frankie.
"Yeah, we know you mean well if you're good friends with Tammy." said Patti. "We trust her, and if she trust you guys, we trust you."
"Oh, you guys are the best!" Tammy hugged her human friends. "So, let's get this party started!"
The monsters cheered as eerie, upbeat music filled the room. Everyone started dancing. Well, everyone except Helen. She watched everyone dance and getting down until she felt a tap on her shoulder, making her jump.
"Oops! Sorry!" It was Skelly. "I didn't mean to scare you!"
Helen smiled. "It's okay, a good scare is fun on Halloween!"
"Really? Humans like getting scared on this holiday?" Skelly asked, surprised.
"Well, some do, some don't. Every human is different, just like every monster is different." Helen looked at Tammy dancing with Frankie and Alivia. "I'm so glad things worked out so well. Cleo told me what happened. You guys stopped Moanica from scaring Brenda and Patti."
"Yeah, we overheard Moanica talking to her Zomboys about her plan at the last minute. So, we needed a plan of our own."
"Where's Moanica now?" asked Helen.
"In detention with a nice and tight mummy wrap to keep her there." Skelly said. "So, now that everything's taken care of...you, I'm, want to...um..." Skelly's bones started to rattle.
"What, Skelly?" asked Helen.
"Um, uh..." Skelly looked at Helen, he couldn't take his eye sockets off her. She was so beautiful, even by human standards. He tried to talk.
"You...want to dance?' asked Helen.
"Yes!" Skelly yelped. He covered his mouth as Helen giggled. She took the skeleton's hand.
"Come on, ya nut." Helen and Skelly walked to the dance floor together. Who knows? Maybe this was the beginning of a beautiful relationship after all. Especially since new friendships began on this memorable Halloween night.
