Author Note: This is going to be a one take story for Halloween. I know that it's been a couple of days since Halloween but it's time to share my Halloween story. I was planning to share this story on Halloween but life got in the way and did not go the way that I wanted to go but that's life for you.
Kurt was excited to spend his first Halloween with his daughter and wife. Bethany was now at the age that she could enjoy it. He was preparing to go all out for it. What he did not know is that Jane had a surprise of her own to share with both Kurt and Bethany. It was the night before Halloween and Kurt knew that Bethany would be there soon and he needed to get home. He just hoped that he would be there before she got there.
Jane was not playing attention when Allie walked into the apartment with Bethany. She was setting up for her special dinner with Kurt.
"Hey, Jane." Allie said to her friend.
"hi." Jane responded to her giving her a smile. "hey Bethany. Are you ready for Halloween?"
"Yes!" Bethany exclaimed her step-mother as she gave Jane a hug.
"Where's Kurt at?" Allie asked her.
"He is at work right now. He should be home in a few minutes." Jane said to her friend as she heard the door open and Kurt walked into the door. "There he is."
"Daddy!" Bethany yelled as she ran over to her father with a smile. Kurt picked his daughter up and gave her a hug. "I missed you so much."
"I missed you too baby girl." Kurt said as he was not paying attention to Jane and Allie.
Allie stayed for a little bit before heading back home. Kurt and Jane put on a movie for Bethany while they made dinner for all of them.
"I am so glad that we get to spend time with her. I can't believe how big she has gotten." Kurt said to his wife with a smile.
"I know. I can't believe how big she has gotten." Jane said to her husband as he leaned for a kiss.
"I love you." Kurt said to his wife.
"I love you too." Jane responded to her husband with a kiss.
Later that night, Jane was getting ready for bed when Kurt came into the room. She knew that he was busy reading a book to his daughter since tomorrow was Halloween.
"So what does she want to watch tomorrow night before we go trick or treating?" Jane asked her husband.
"She wants to watch Charlie Brown's Halloween." Kurt responded to his wife.
"I was hoping that later that night, we could watch Hocus Pocus." Jane said to her husband.
"Yeah, we could watch that later after she goes to bed." Kurt said to her with a smile. "I do need to get to bed. I got a feeling that she is going to wake me up early tomorrow so we can go get some pumpkins and decorate them."
"Yes, I think she is going to have you do that." Jane responded to her husband with a smile as she watched him get ready for bed.
The next morning, Kurt was in fact woken up by Bethany. He looked over to see that Jane was still sleeping. He leaned over and gave her a small kiss before getting out of bed to make Bethany some breakfast. They headed to the store and bought all the items that they would need to decorate their pumpkins. Jane had woken up shorty after her husband left and pulled out the little pumpkin that she got and wrote on "Baby Weller coming soon". She knew that she needed to put it away since she was going to tell him after Trick or treating.
Kurt and Bethany arrived home and they decorate the pumpkin which turned out super cute. They headed to go trick or treating. When they were finished they settled into watch a movie. Bethany fell asleep within five minutes so Kurt carried his daughter into her bedroom and came out. While Kurt was taking his daughter into her bedroom, Jane pulled out the pumpkin and set it on the table to see if her husband would see it.
"I think that she had fun." Kurt said before seeing the pumpkin. "Jane, what is this? Are we expecting a baby?"
"Yes." She said to her husband as he picked her up and carried her to bed.
