She was always stunning, a true master piece of ebony waves and chocolate doe eyes. Why her? Why did his beast have to call out to her? A human an to make things worse one not even he was sure he could obtain..
She used to be weak, child like, ill tempered, and dreadfully plain. Many years had changed that for Kagome. She was no longer any of thous things, she was strong, mature, calm , and aboustly perfect in every way through body and spirit. Sesshomaru was lost , completely lost in her.
Even now he watched her twirl around young children in her village smiling. You could never even tell her hands had been coated in blood, her eyes had seen war, or her entire soul torn apart. Naraku had perished 5 years ago, many deaths were made that day. His foolish , annoying half breed brother had been the biggest loss. The slayer and monk still lived with three children of their own now. The kit had been lost to the war, thou no body was ever found. Kagome , he could tell still grieved for her lost son deeply.
The slayer young brother had perished, his darling Rin was lost to the war as well. Her body just like the young kits was never found, her scent gone along with the kits. He assumed Naraku absorbed them in the last battle.
Yet here twirled the Miko, his Miko even if she was unaware, putting on an act as if she was okay. He knew she wasn't that deep down she would never be the same. He also had changed.
She lost everything that day, she lost her son, her love, and she says she lost her family.. Though he never saw or caught whiff of any kin of hers on the battlefield that day. She no longer visited her hide way of the old well in the forest, thou he never could understand the point of such a thing. Jumping down a well? How had she not broken her neck and died long before now was a question he thought of often.
Would he be more at peace if she had? Would this ever ragging war of beast and himself ever end? Would he ever feel himself again, whole again? Would seeing her smile at him ever stop making him loose his breath? These questions were haunting him deeply thou if course he the great Sesshomaru would never voice these thoughts.
"SESSHOMARU!!", her heavenly voiced rang out to his ears. Involuntary he turned towards her smiling form that was just a few paces away from him. Why she felt need scream for him from such a short distance was beyond him. Surely by now she knew his hearing was far much better than any humans?
He walked to her slow and regal , a small smirk on his porcelain skin. One he knew only she would pick up and he felt pride when her brilliant pale skin flushed red when she caught sight him smirking at her. She no longer wore her strange short kimono at all, nor did she wear typical priestess garments unless out on task for the village that required such attire.
Rin was gone, he no longer had someone precious to him to spoil.. until he realized his interest in Kagome. His beast need for her was over whelming. Now she stayed dressed in the finest kimonos his wealth and title could buy. Today she wore one very similar to that of which Izayoi wore. Hers thou was white, red, navy, and a royal purple. His colors thou she was completely oblivious to it, he swelled with pride. It marked her as his, he was always honorable but this once he wouldn't be. He couldn't live if another snatched her away from his still empty grasp. Anyone who saw the colors she wore and saw him always around would surely realize what it meant...expect for the one person he wanted.
"Quiet Miko, your screeching hurts this one's ears.", Sesshomaru said his cold voice slightly warm and humorous. She giggled, her hand covering her mouth. "I'm so sorry Lord Sesshomaru, I forgotten how much better your hearing is than mine", she giggled back amused.
"What do you require of me Miko? I do not waste time.", his eyes narrowed. It just had to be her , there simply was no one else for him.
Her face glowed a bright red, her giggles stopped suddenly. Any courage she had when she summoned him to her side, vanished. Her mumbles even unheard to Sesshomaru until she finally took a deep breath in and whispered out clearly ,"Do you want to go on a date?"
His eyes grew wide. A date? What was such a thing? Maybe she meant she had a mission she required his assistance? By now she should know he would never tell her no to such a thing, her safety and happiness was all he wanted... yet the problem was she didn't know that. "A date? Woman what do you speak of? Such a silly term with no meaning", he asked back letting the confusion seep out his voice. The children in which she twirled around moments ago ran home leaving her completely defenseless to his questions and stares.
