Kagome watched the scene fondly in front her, a sweet moment of father and long lost daughter. Time was slowed down to be in rhythm with a sloth in the trees. Did anyone in that time even know what a sloth truly was?
A smile stuck to her face as a single tear rolled down her left eye. She was so happy for the two before her. The occasional sniffle could be heard from Rin who was safely tucked into her father's massive form. A full barrier around her. Kagome looked around her, hoping her little kit who come bounding out and rush to sit on her shoulder and hug her excitedly.
Her eyes grew wide as a she did not see a small kit. No small kit was in her eyesight but a child the size Souta was when she first began her journey in the fedual era. Red hair still as vibrant as it had been years ago, bright eyes stared back her. Slight freckles, pointed ears, and two tails swishing happily behind him...
He had two tails now...her single tear turned into millions. Kagome's arms opened wide and she smiled at her growing boy with radiance. A few seconds ticked by as her arms open and before she knew it the small boy was on her arms. One hand wrapped around his shoulders protectively as one stroked through his hair.
"Oh my boy, my precious boy. Where have you been. I missed you so much.", Kagome words came out quietly but she knew he had heard her. "Im sorry Kagome, I'm so sorry. I wasnt sure you wanted me anymore. If you had mourned my death and moved on with my memory. If everyone else had and my return would be... unwelcomed.", Shippo spoke back sounding ashamed.
"Wait a mintue... SHIPPO you're a genuis!", Kagome shrieked out loudly. She earned the attention of her future mate. "Sesshomaru honey come here, Rin baby you to.", she beamed at them her arm waving them to come forward.
"Sesshomaru you buried everyone bodies didn't you?", Kagome asked.
"The ones which could be recovered yes.", He replied lamely. "Didn't the grave dirt kinda just cave in slightly maybe 3 days after their deaths? As if the sights were almost hollow?", Kagome asked, "Remember we thought maybe grave robbers had try to get them."
"You assume I am forgetful?", Sesshomaru deadpanned her irritated. "No, I know you are not anything but perfect. What if Inuyasha is on the continent also? Sango? Miroku? Everyone who was slain that day given another chance?", Kagome beamed at him with hopeful eyes with a tint of mischief in the orbs. "Everyone we have a new journey! Instead of finding the shards were looking for the people the jewel brought back!", Kagome clapped her hands cheerfully at her declaration.
Three pairs of eyes stared back at her shocked. Was it truly a possibility? The jewel did bring Rin and Shippo back so surely it had to be a possibility. One more than likely true. There was only a real way prove Kagome theory and that would be to travel all the way back to Edo and check the grave sites of Inuyasha and Sango.
Sesshomaru felt something stir in his chest, a feeling unfamiliar and unpleasant. Was he scared? He glanced over to his beloved...Would she leave him at the sight of Inuyasha? Would she forget all about him?
He scoffed at the thought as if amyone would pick Inuyasha over him. Then he made the mistake to look at his father... someone had already picked Inuyasha over him... someone who was his world and left him behind.
Old feelings of anger welt up inside Sesshomaru and he roared. This time, this was his time to do what he was destined to do. He would fight his father and he would surpass him.
