Alariel's PoV
I ran, and ran, not stopping to even take a single break. There was only one person on my mind, Akeno. I had felt the explosion a couple miles away, questions started to run through my mind. What had happened? Was she safe? Risking it all, I unfurled my wings, pure black feathers sprouted from my back and I took to the skies, straining myself hoping that I could make it in time
[Slow down partner, you're exhausting yourself] Albion's voice boomed from the recess of my mind [You still haven't mastered using your wings yet!]
I payed him no mind, I needed to get there fast enough, to save Auntie Shuri, to save Akeno. I kept pushing myself, until I caught site of the shrine, all that was left of it was rubble and stone.
"Akeno!" I cried out "Auntie Shuri!"
I frantically searched for them, turning over small boulders and wooden planks, until I came upon the body of Auntie Shuri, a large hole was in place of where her heart should be. I didn't realize but tears had started flowing down from my eyes as I knelt down beside her lifeless corpse. I cried, because I had failed, I couldn't save Auntie Shuri, I couldn't save Ake… I raised my head and picked myself up from the ground searching for Akeno's body praying to Kami that she's still alive. I clawed at rocks and planks, checking every nook and cranny for her body, but it was nowhere to be found. Part of me wanted to give into despair, that Akeno was gone, that I would never see her again, but part of me also hoped, it hoped that Akeno was still alive, and I held onto that.
Walking back to Auntie Shuri's body, I knelt beside her, and grieved. The tears wouldn't stop falling, and as I knelt there on the ground crying, the rain had started to fall. I looked up to the sky, cursing Barakiel for not being there for his family, cursing god for forsaking such kind souls, and cursing myself for I had broken my promise to Akeno. I grabbed the emerald necklace that hung onto my neck and stared at it. Did I still deserve this? I thought back to the day she gave this to me
~Flashback – 1 year ago~
"H-hey, Alariel!" I turned towards Akeno who was holding something behind her back fidgeting.
"Yes, Akeno?"
"I-I wanna give you something, to signify our friendship!" she chirped
"Really?! What is it?" I beamed at her
She revealed two emerald necklace that she had been hiding behind her back, and placed it on my neck, while placing the other on her.
"With this we'll know each other in an instant!" she explained "Since we're wearing identical necklaces, and since it signifies our bond with each other!"
I smiled, and wrapped my arms around her, pulling her into a hug, which in turn causes her to blush furiously.
"Ara ara, look how cute you two are together!" Auntie Shuri teased "I hope I'm not expecting any grandchildren soon~ ufufu~"
"MOM!" "AUNTIE!"
~End Flashback~
How I wished I could still relive those days of happiness, where we were carefree and enjoyed life.
[It's not your fault, partner.] Albion interrupted the silence.
It is…if only I had been here with her, I…I could've helped her.
[Well there's no use thinking about it now.]
What do you mean?! That I should just forget Akeno?!
[Not like that, partner] He explained [What I mean is, use this event to get better, to get stronger, chances are your mate is still alive, let's not lose hope]
I blinked away my tears, and thought on Albion's words. He was right. So I promised myself, that I would get better, become stronger, find Akeno and protect her even it means laying down my life for her safety.
[Look alive, your Dad's here]
My head perked up and I saw the familiar visage of my dad. He was tall and had black hair, with golden bangs, his twelve wings unfurled for all to see. He looked solemnly at me and approached me slowly.
"Hey, kiddo." He greeted, wherein I simply nodded to acknowledge him "How you holding up?"
I shook my head and tackled into him, crying my eyes out. He patted my back, telling me everything was gonna be okay. I looked up at him, tears streaming still streaming down my face.
"Dad?" I spoke up " I wanna get stronger."
He smiled, the Fallen Angel, Azazel smiled, holding onto me tight he flapped his wings and we flew into the skies through the rain. Then I realized, I never buried Auntie Shuri's body.

-Grigori Base of Operations-
A 13 year old Alariel was sparring with Vali who wielded the Sacred Gear, Canis Lykaon, his partner Jin by his side wielding a black sword in its mouth. Alariel's wings from his, Divine Dividing fluttered to life as he charged straight at Jin, the dog swung its sword sideways in hopes of injuring Alariel, but instead he skillfully vaulted over and delivered a powerful kick causing the dog to skid on the floor. Vali glared at Alariel and charged straight at him, drawing his katana from its sheath.
[DIVIDE!]
Alariel felt his power increase by a huge margin, as he avoid a upward slash from Vali, which he returned with right hook to his face, causing Vali to stagger backwards, unbeknownst to him though, Jin had recovered and delivered a painful downward slash, causing his clothing to tear, and blood dripping from his body.
[DIVIDE!]
Jin returned to his master's side, as Vali slowly regained balance and glared at Alariel, who glared back.
"That all you got… mutt?" Alariel taunted
Enraged, both charged straight at Alariel, who in turn took flight and flew straight towards Jin, avoiding a slash from Vali, and delivering a powerful roundhouse kick to the dog.
[DIVIDE!]
Alariel grinned maniacally at Vali, who returned the grin, and charged each other intent on finishing it. In a flash both combatants where at opposite sides, waiting for whomever felt first. After a while, Vali slowly fell onto his knees, panting whereas Alariel still stood, blood dripping down from his arm. Azazel approaches them and claps, clearly proud of their performance.
[Well done, partner!] Albion praised as the Light Wings vanished
Jin went over to his master, and licked his face affectionately. A Fallen Angel medic made a beeline for Alariel. quickly applying first aid onto his bleeding arm.
"Well done, you two! I'm proud of how much you both have improved." Azazel praised "Alariel, how close are you to reaching your Balance Breaker, and you too Vali?"
He looked at his father "Nearly there, Dad. Nearly there."
"I still can't get the hang of it without going berserk, Azazel-san" Vali replied
Azazel nodded, motioning for them to continue their training.
We're nearly there, right Albion?
[Yes, partner. Just a little more and we'll achieve Balance Breaker]
Alariel mentally nodded. I'll find you soon, Akeno. Wait for me!

-ORC Clubroom-
Akeno was staring solemnly out of the window with one person on her mind, Alariel. Questions rushed through her thoughts, was he still alive? If so is he okay? Where is he now? Where was he on that day? Does he still remember her?
She felt her heart ache with every passing moment, she never got to tell him, how much she loved him. Now it was just a distant dream, but part of her still wishes, still hopes that he'll come back to her, alive and well. She tightly gripped the emerald necklace that hung on her neck, a symbol of their promise.
"….keno…A…keno…AKENO!" Akeno was snapped out of her thoughts, and turned around to face her, best friend, and [KING], Rias Gremory.
"Yes, Rias?" Rias looked at her friend with concern, something had been bothering her these past few days and she didn't what it is.
"Are you ok, Akeno?" she asks with concern
Putting on a fake smile, she nods her head "Of course, Rias."
Rias could only sigh as she slips out of her school uniform, her breats jiggling as she took off her bra and underwear.
"I'll take a quick shower, then we'll head back to class, kay?" Akeno could only nod as she stared solemnly to the sky
Sighing, Rias entered the shower, allowing the water to cascade down her body.
~Meanwhile~
-Grigori Base of Operations-
Alariel's PoV
"WHAT?!" My shout could be heard throughout the halls as I looked incredulously at my father "You want me to to Kuoh, and take up education?! I think you haven't had your daily dose of women yet, Dad"
Azazel, my dad, merely chuckled at my reaction "Relax, kiddo. You'll be observing a certain someone there whom we believe holds a Sacred Gear."
Sighing "And? Details."
"The boy's name is Issei Hyoudou, 17, and a self- proclaimed pervert and lover of OPPAI!"
"Great, just great. At least tell me, he holds a [LONGINUS] or something?"
"It could possibly be, one of my scouts reported that he may be the wielder of the Boosted Gear" I perked up at that revelation, the Boosted Gear "But we are not too sure of that yet."
[This could be our chance, partner] Albion speaks out loud [We get to see how strong Ddraig's host is!]
"I doubt a pervert who has a fetish for oppai, can get on our level, Albion" I palmed my face why oh why is my rival a pervert?!
Vali could only snicker behind me at my predicament, I sent a light glare his way and turned back to my father.
"Why do you need me then, if you already have sent a group there, what's my purpose?" I asked him
"That is because, they'll be recalled back here." He explained "You'll be taking over their job on observing the boy, but do tread carefully, Kuoh is now the territory of Devil Heiress, the Gremory, and the Sitri."
Palming my face once more, I released a tired sigh "Fine, fine. I guess I'm off, I'm also presuming you have place for me to stay while I'm there?"
"Of course!" he waves at me "Take care, kiddo! Go easy on the girls!"
Muttering curses under my breath, I turned around and nodded at Vali who returned and went out of the room. Silently gliding down the hall, nodding once in a while to the passing Fallen, I arrived at my room. I was never one for decorations nor was I materialistic, so my room was just compromised of single-sized bed, a desk with the picture of me, as a baby, my dad, and my human mother, who was now… dead.
Beside it was another frame, a picture of me and Akeno when we were children, holding each other's hand. I smiled at the picture, and began packing the things I needed, I had decided to buy a new batch of clothes when I arrived at Kuoh. Fixing my hair, I dashed out of my room, leaped out of an open porch, unfurled my wings revealing 4 pairs of black, midnight wings, and flew.
Where are you now, Akeno?
~1 hour of flight later~
-Kuoh Town, Shrine-
Retracting my wings, I gracefully landed and checked my surroundings. I was shocked, the shrine had been rebuilt, gone were the fallen stones and wooden blanks, gone was the smell of burnt wood, gone was the scent of death. It had been replace by the life, everything here was beautiful. I started to wonder around, someone was living here, but who? Walking around the area I noticed the different plants and flowers that grew in the vicinity, and then I saw it… The worn out gravestone, slowly I approached it, on the stone were words,
Here lies….
Shuri Himejima
May she find peace in Heaven
XXXX – XXXX
I smiled, while tracing the words on the stone "I'm home." I silently whispered. Standing up, I slowly made my way down and out of the shrine. I silently walked through the streets, nostalgia filled me with every step that I made, my feet carried me to the park where a fountain was situated in the middle, memories came rushing back to me as I stared at park, memories of when I was still a child.
~Flashback – 12 years ago~
"You can't catch me, Riel!" Akeno giggled as Alariel chased her around the fountain
Azazel, Barakiel and Shuri smiled as the duo happily played, not having a care in the world around them until…..
SPLASH
Akeno and Alariel had fallen into the fountain, with Alariel pinning Akeno on the wet floor giggling.
"Otou-san! Kaa-chan! Riel-chan made me wet!" Akeno whined, whilst Alariel continued on giggling finally pulling him and Akeno out of the water
Barakiel's face was red, while both Shuri and Azazel giggled perversely at the hidden meaning.
~End Flashback~
Smiling solemnly, I sat at the edge of the fountain and stared at sky, had time flown so fast? The sky was now littered with star, as the moon shone ever vibrant. I smiled, a genuine happy smile
Wait for me, Akeno.
That's a wrap! So, first things first, this is my first fic, so reviews and your opinions are I very much appreciated. Next up, yes Alariel has Divine Dividing, yes Vali has Canis Lykaon, because why not *digital shrug*.

If you have any questions or suggestions, just tell me
Alariel's Harem – Akeno (MAIN), Rias, Raynare, Kalawarner
Issei's Harem – Asia (MAIN) Ravel, Xenovia
I'll take more harem suggestions, but the ones above are set in stone.
