ToonSchool Music Video Mania
I Lived
Spotlights shine and applause is heard on the ToonSchool Music Video Mania stage, Tony, Phineas, and Ferb stood on it.
"Hey, everybody! Welcome to ToonSchool Music Video Mania! I'm Phineas and this is Ferb," Phineas introduced themselves to the audience and Ferb waved at them.
"And I'm Tony Clark!" Tony said as the audience applauded. "And we have a very special but also bittersweet announcement to make…"
"Yeah. Fans and friends, for four seasons over the last eight years, my step-brother and I have been coming up with all kinds of ways to make the best of our summer vacation," Phineas said. "Well as I'm sure many of you already know: tonight, that vacation comes to an end."
The audience gasped as Ferb added, "That's right. Our show will air its final regular episode tonight, and then a standalone special with our Perry the Platypus in the fall. Hey, we all knew this summer couldn't last forever, you know."
"That's right, Ferb. So we here at MV Mania decided to help say goodbye with a special song that was also used to help say goodbye to another landmark series earlier this year."
Ferb then pushed a button on his remote and brought down the screen, as Phineas started to give the song's history.
"'I Lived' is from the band OneRepublic from their third album Native," Phineas explained. "Released in September 2014, it peaked at thirty two on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It's conception and meaning were essentially what our show was about: living each day to it's fullest. Recently it was used as the final overall song cover for the show Glee in its series finale, as it showed the reunited New Directions members reminiscing about the past times they all had together in glee club and how those times helped them get to where they were in the present."
"ToonSchool's producers, NashWalker and RunnerAwaker, agreed that it was the best song to help us say goodbye with," Ferb added.
"And today, the entire casts of both ToonSchool and Phineas & Ferb will perform this iconic goodbye song," Tony said. "So moving right along, here's the MV for our cover of 'I Lived'," Tony said as Phineas pressed a button on his remote, switching the channel to the MV.
In the ToonSchool auditorium, Phineas stood alone under a sole spotlight with a microphone in hand and spoke to the audience.
"Greeting fans, friends, and family. As you know, tonight our reign over Disney ends, so we just wanted to say thank you in the most special way possible: through song. So without further ado, this is for you everyone."
The music began to play as the leads of the Phineas & Ferb cast joined Phineas on stage:
Phineas: Hope when you take that jump
You don't feel the fall
Ferb: Hope when the water rises
You built a wall
Irving: Hope when the crowd screams out
They're screaming your name
All three: Hope if everybody runs
You choose to stay
Isabella: Yeah
Candace: Oh
Both: The (only way you can know)
You give it (all you had)
Isabella: Hey, yeah
Baljeet: And I hope that you don't suffer
But take the pain
Baljeet (w/Buford): Hope when the moment comes
You'll say
As the chorus began, more supporting members of the cast, such as Stacy, Jenny, Jeremy, Django, Vanessa, Suzy, and the Fireside Girls, emerged onstage to sing it with the others.
All: I, I did it all
I, I did it all
I owned every second that this world could give
I saw so many places, the things that I did
Yeah, with every broken bone
I swear I lived
Then some of main students ToonSchool cast then emerged and began to sing:
Tony: Hope that you spend your days
But they all add up
Bubbles & Jimmy: Ooh
And when that sun goes down
Hope you raise your cup
Ooh
Danny & Timmy: I wish that I could witness
All your joy and all your pain
June & Jake: But until my moment comes
I'll say
Everyone then sang the chorus as the rest of the main students emerged onstage to sing along:
All: I, I did it all
I, I did it all
I owned every second that this world could give
I saw so many places, the things that I did
Yeah, with every broken bone
I swear I lived
As those on stage looked on, more supporting characters from both casts came on stage to sing along:
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh, oh-o-oh-o-oh, oh-oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh, oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh, oh-oh-oh-oh
Isabella, Candace, and Bubbles: Hey
With every broken bone
I lived
All: I, I did it all (Irving: I did it all, yeah)
I, I did it all (Jimmy: I did it all, yeah)
I owned every second that this world could give
I saw so many places, the things that I did
Yeah, with every broken bone
I swear I lived
As the song began to close, the teachers and parents of the ToonSchool cast, along with the adults of the Phineas and Ferb cast then gathered on stage with the others.
All: Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh-oh (Phineas: Oh, yeah)
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh, oh-o-oh-o-oh, oh-oh-oh-oh-oh (Phineas and Tony: I swear I lived)
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh, oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh, oh-oh-oh-oh (Mmhh)
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh-oh (Mmhh)
Oh-oh, oh-oh-oh-oh (Mmhh)
Oh-oh, oh-oh-oh-oh (Mmhh)
As the song ended and the lights dimmed all the cast members gathered together and took a final bow. They then burst into applause as the music video came to a close.
The scene then returned to the Music Video Mania stage, where the three hosts remained seated.
"Great song," Tony said.
"And great goodbye too," Phineas said.
"Now we see why Glee used this song," Ferb added in.
"Well, anyhow be sure to catch the series finale of Phineas and Ferb tonight on Disney Channel and Disney XD," Phineas said. "And the Perry special this fall too!"
"But don't feel too bad, you can still catch us around ToonSchool on a recurring basis."
"And coming later this summer, we and our fellow P&F cast members will also be starring in the new Universal Runners special, Horizon Raiders," Phineas said.
"Wow, you guys still seem to have a lot on your plate this summer," Tony said. Just then, a model Gunpla suddenly came flying towards Tony's head. He managed to duck just in time though.
"What the heck was that?," he said.
"Just a model Gundam we caught with our new remote control helicopter," Phineas said. Just then, a boy's angry voice was heard backstage.
"Where is it? Where'd that Gunpla go?! Who dares fly my Gunpla wrong?!," he asked angrily. The three host smiled sheepishly at this.
"And…that's all the time we have for today for ToonSchool Music Video Mania," Tony said. "So until next time, this is Tony…"
"Phineas…"
"And Ferb."
"Signing off!"
The audience applauded as the scene panned and faded out.
A/N (NashWalker): What a way to say goodbye to one of the greatest cartoons ever, huh? The Gunpla part, sort of confused me though. But Runner says we'll find out what it means all in good time.
So until next time, see ya later!
