"Yo! Knuckles!" Sonic made his entrance loud and proud. Knuckles dropped some weights on his foot "YEOW! What is it, Sonic?! You kinda came in at a bad time!"

"You have your communications device? I wanna meet with a certain detective you know well."

"Really? You could just-"

"I insist."

Knuckles deadpanned looked at Sonic as he opened his communication device. "Hey, Vector? You there? Yeah, you got a visitor comin' soon. Sonic, obviously. Right. Okay. Bye."

He ended the communication and gave Sonic a thumbs up.

"Great, Knuckles! I'll see you if I get good results!" He zoomed off, dragging Tails alongside him.

They stopped right outside the library. Tails was wheezing. "Don't... drag me again..."

"Oh, come on, Tails! It's not THAT bad!" Sonic shrugged. "Besides, the library isn't that far, so you coulda just WALKED there if ya wanted! Don't ask Vector why he set up a detective agency in the library, because truth be told, I dunno either."

"...Something about this seems ironic." Tails thought.

"How so?"

Tails pointed his finger as if to explain. "Our new alien threat is summoned via book, and next thing we know, we're at the library!"

"Hah, that IS ironic!" Sonic laughed. "We need the library to stop the library!"

The hedgehog gently opened the door to find a beaver.

"Oh. It's... It's..." Sonic groaned.

Tails finished for him. "Fastidious."

"Yeeeeah. Him."

The beaver with the bowtie looked at Sonic and then just straight up said: "Library's closed."

Sonic just looked at the cracked open door behind Fastidious. A bunch of people in the library.

"...It's, like, the afternoon." Sonic retorted.

Fastidious blinked.

"...And there's people in there."

"Part of a super secret library club."

Sonic got agitated. "We're here to see a crocodile, who is a detective and we need to see him!"

"Actually, it's 'whom is'."

Tails finally spoke up. "You think Sonic's just gonna mess the library up, aren't you?"

The beaver nodded in admittance.

"Do you take me for a crazy nutjob badger or something?!" Sonic facepalmed.

"Fastidious, Sonic won't do anything irrational!" Tails stuck up for him. "I can vouch for him!"

The beaver glared at Sonic, the latter having sweatdrops from being judged.

"Fine. If I see a tornado of books, I'm sending you to the mayor." Fastidious went back inside the library.

Sonic grinned. "Don't worry, you won't even know I'm here..." He laughed to himself as he also went inside.

"...And then a portal opened up after Eggman touched his thumb on the book!" Tails was describing the scene to a certain crocodile behind the desk. He was wearing a leather black jacket and a gold chain around his neck.

This was Sonic's... not-as-close friend, Vector.

He was typing on the computer what Tails was describing. Yes, Vector had indeed... found the computer room.

"I dunno, you two. This seems supernatural to me."

"Wait, really?" Sonic blinked.

"Yeah, like something not from this world. I can't link any clues to what you're describing..."

"Not even where this book came from?" Tails looked scared.

"Not even that."

"Great." Sonic groaned. "We don't even know the human's origin story."

"Human? Well, your answer's right there!" Vector looked at Sonic.

"No, no!" He waved his hands frantically. "When Eggman summoned her, it was like a dazzling entrance! I don't see how a giant FIRE TORNADO would NOT be dazzling!"

"Fire tornado? Tails said portal."

All eyes fell on Tails.

"...I got a little scared so my memory may be fuzzy.." Tails awkwardly scratched his head.

Sonic thought more. "Fire tornado, and the girl's clothes didn't burn... So that can only mean one thing..."

He turned to Tails in horror. Tails did the same. Then they all said in dismay at the exact same time: "SHE IS SUPERNATURAL!"

Dramatic lightning strike outside, which caused Tails to yelp and jump into Sonic's arms like a certain shaggy person and their dog. "Ugh! I'm still afraid of lightning!"

"She could probably control lightning too... Oh gosh."

Tails looked with pleading eyes. "Please tell me she can't!"

"Well, we don't know how she got IN this world..." Sonic got serious. "But we know how to get her OUT. Brute force, as I say!"

Just then, a dramatic explosion happened. Sonic started to sweat. "I don't think that was comical timing..."

He looked out the window to see people screaming and fleeing.

Just then, Mayor Fink opened the door. "Sonic! Eggman is attacking the unnamed village! Nobody could have expected this!"

"Yep. There we go. Time to go, Tails!"

"Roger!" Tails saluted.

"My name's not Roger." Sonic casually corrected as the duo ran outside.

Robots were infiltrating the village, shooting lasers and fire everywhere.

Eggman flew in via Egg Mobile. "Aaahahahaha! Kneel before your master!"

Sonic curled his fists and got into a fighting stance. "The only person who will be kneeling here is YOU, Eggface!"

"Grr!" Eggman turned his vehicle to face the hedgehog. "You immortal blue pincushion! You just won't stay down!"

Amy hammered a robot and noticed Sonic. "Oh, Sonic!"

Sonic turned to Amy and saw Sticks and Knuckles behind her. Amy began. "So, did Eggman have something?"

Eggman grinned. "You bet I did!"

Everyone looked up at the flying Egg Mobile. "Team Sonic, your days are NUMBERED!"

Knuckles scratched his head. "What number?"

"The number one!" Eggman raised a single finger. "Because that's how many seconds you have to live! Behold the power of my ultimate masterpiece!" He held up the book.

...Amy blinked. Tails quickly turned to Amy. "That book's actually a lot more deadly than it looks!"

Sticks, meanwhile, was just laughing. "I TOLD YOU! I TOLD YOU HE HAD THE ALIENS!"

Sonic curled into a ball to try and hit Eggman, but Sticks threw a boomerang at Sonic which knocked him back to the group.

He got out of ball form, rubbing his head. "Ow, what was that for, Sticks?!"

Sticks growled as she pointed at Eggman. Sonic looked up and saw that he already had his thumb on the cover of the book.

"Ah.. I see." Sonic groaned. Time for another beatdown.

A door suddenly appeared below Eggman. He looked down from his Egg Mobile. "Oi! Librarian! Can't you make up your mind on how to make an entrance?!"

The door opened, revealing Monosci again. She rubbed her one eye. "Sorry, master... You kinda called for me while I was sleeping..."

Sonic looked at her outfit. The same goth outfit from before. "You sleep with your normal clothes on?"

"Yes, actually." Monosci was starting to get fully awake. "What, would you prefer pajamas?"

"No." Everyone spoke at first, but Sonic and Tails were the loudest objections.

Eggman growled. "You test my patience with these inappropriate questions! You know what to do already!"

Monosci nodded. "Right... attack the furries..."

"Come to think of it..." Sonic thought. "None of us have fur. Except Tails." Sonic looked at the bushy tails that... Tails had.

Amy gripped her hammer. "Watch out! Here she comes!"

Sonic nodded and turned to Monosci. "Let's go!"
