Hi readers! Here's chapter two. Enjoy!

'Another night of patrolling..another night spent watching those blood sucking bastards!'Kiryu Zero's mind wondered at the sight of Kuran Kaname and the rest of the night class through the classroom window.
The male guardian's mind was totally occupied with his hatred towards the creatures of the night that he failed to notice Yuki until she hit him straight on the back nearly making him fall on the ground. The girl was really getting better at beating him with each passing day and her beatings hurt like hell.
"What do you think you are doing, Yuki?" the silver haired guardian questioned the brown haired girl beside him, irritation evident in his tone.
"You looked all spaced out, so I thought I'd bring you back to earth, Zero!" the girl replied back with a bright smile.
The girl always looked shy, flustered and barely uttered a word without stuttering when that Kuran bastard was around and her shy character blasted into a million pieces when it was just the two of them. It seemed as if she had a duel personality. Zero looked back at Yuki to find her staring at the night class through the window; more like staring at Kuran Kaname with her mouth agape and eyes wide open. Her cheeks had even turned a slight shade of red just by gazing at him!
It hurt him, everytime she looked at Kaname with that lovestruck expression. He knew..he knew more than anyone that he did not deserve to be the object of Yuki's affection. It was only a matter of time until he finally sucumbed into the beast within him and with no blood tablets to quench his thirst, falling to a level E is unavoidable. He had no future to look forward to and hoping for Yuki's love was just foolish and selfish. He knew exactly where he stood when it came to Yuki, so god did not really have to rub in the fact at his face each and every day like this! Seeing the girl you love so dearly, staring at another man..and worse! That very man she loved was a pureblood vampire! The monsters who had taken away his life as a human and turned him into one of their kind as well. The cause for his lifelong misery and hopeless future. Thanks to those good-for-nothing blood sucking bastards, he now belonged to neither of the races. He could neither freely call himself a human being and due to being the lowest kind of their race, nor could he call himself a vampire. Well..he was really happy that he could not completely call himself one of those beasts, but in a matter of time he was going to end up in a far worse destiny. Once he completely goes insane from the unquenched blood lust, he would have no will to control himself. Even if Yuki were to scream in fear and pain as he drank her life source greedily from her, he would not be sane enough to stop himself from draining her. Everytime the thought ran across his mind, he was paralyzed; the mere thought of losing the only person who he truly cared about, because of his own faults scared him beyond limits.
It was true that Yuki had promised to kill him once he turned into a level E, but he highly doubted both Yuki and God. He wasn't confident that the girl would be able to fire the gun at him even if he was at the point of killing her. Well the reason why he doubted god..he was not sure whether whoever who stayed up there calling himself god would permit him the luxury of meeting death by the hands of his beloved. He was just a tool to play with for both god and those stupid beasts anyways. His parents were killed by Hiou Shizuka, a pureblood vampire, and he was bit and turned into a vampire by that very woman. On top of that his own younger brother, whom he had cared and loved for all his childhood had turned a blind eye at his family and chosen to side with the woman who mercilessly murdered his family. Being the kind hearted and sensitive person he was, Zero could not bring himself to completely loathe his younger twin even after his betrayal. After the demise of their parents, Ichiru left with that woman to god knows where leaving him to fight a losing battle with the beast within him. Every time the incidents of that night played in his mind, he was forced to relive those bitter experiences as well and every time ended up in the conclusion as to why Shizuka had not murdered him along with his parents. He would have preferred death a thousand times better rather than his current pitiful state..counting days for death to find him!
As for Ichiru, he did not have the slightest idea as to where he went in his relationship with his younger twin. Eversince the day they were born, who knows..maybe even before they were born he had looked after his sickly brother. His parents and their associates kept blabbering on about some curse, but despite what others told them, he had always tried to be a good big brother to his other half. He did not get a brink of sleep at nights Ichiru was feverish and cared for him the best of his abilities. Even now, after all this time, he still had a soft spot in his heart for his twin.
"Are you done staring at your saviour Yuki?" Zero's words brought Yuki back from her dazed state.
"I..I..was not.." the girl stuttered in embarassment.
"Save your excuses. I know you are in love with Kuran Kaname, Yuki. I really don't care who you love but you know it's hopeless right? That man is a vampire!" Disgust was filled in Zero's words.
"I know that, Zero! Why do you keep asking me that every time? I know Kaname senpai is out of my reach..I am just grateful for him for saving my life. That's all.." the girl's voice was low and barely audible.
"I don't think you could sum up all those feelings you have for him into gratitude, Yuki."
"Oh just stop it already Zero! It's not like you know anything about love anyway! Stop pestering me about it! It's only gratitude and not love! That's all. End of topic!" Yuki stated in a rush leaving Zero mute.
'Gratitude..huh?..If only that was all..'
The siver haired guardian wished in silent agony.
