I really appreciate the reviews guys. Thanks a bunch and continue to review because as I said before, that' s what keeps me alive. So..here is chapter 4 of conflicting feelings!Recap: 'Oh god! It's Zero! What should I do?' the thought ran across Yuki's mind as she stared at her fellow partner._
Yuki stared at Zero for a few long moments as she was too scared of waking the calm sleeping figure and also because she had no idea whatsoever of what she was going to do if Zero woke up. It was curiosity which made her take a few steps towards the silverette.
Zero was gorgeous. She had to admit that much. Without his usual smirk on his face, Zero absolutely looked like a child. It was indeed a rare opportunity to find him so vulnerable. After a few minutes of gazing at Zero, she was overwhelmed by the feeling of wanting to touch the boy's silver hair.
'He wouldn't mind if I patted his hair a bit, would he?'
Yuki's hand lay on Zero's head gently as she patted the boy's silky hair.
'I never imagined it to be so...soft..'Not long after patting him on the head Zero's eyes opened in terror and his very first move was to aim his bloody rose at the brown haired girl.
'He had been too careless! Why had he not sensed the presence earlier?'Zero stared in bewilderment at the horrorstruck pair of brown eyes for a few seconds before immediately lowering his gun. The two guardians remained silent for a few awkward moments.
"What are you doing here Yuki?" Zero raised his question at the girl who seemed be in slight shock.
"uh..right..well..fangirls.." Yuki whispered.
"Fangirls? What do they have to do with you being in the stables?"
"They..they attacked me. I mean when Kaname senpai touched me on the cheek..the got jealous.." Yuki tried her best to come up with an answer to convince Zero, but all her response did was bring out a scowl on the boy's face. And beneath that scowl..a speck of sadness?..well maybe she was reading too much into things! Why would Zero feel sad when she said that she had been followed by a bunch of fangirls?
Being the thick headed person she was, Yuki Cross was unable to find the root cause for Zero's change in expression. She did not have any idea of how painful it was for her silver haired partner to hear the name of Kuran Kaname being uttered before him.
"Forget about why I am in the stables! Zero..tell me, do you need blood? Have you had any after your first time?" Yuki questioned Zero, forgetting all about the promise she had made to Kaname earlier. Well.. she broke her part of the promise when she set foot on the stables, so why think about it now? Zero needed her and there was noway she could ignore him like others told her to. It was just too cruel.
"I know..I know you thirst for blood, Zero. I know it. So, please stop fighting against it and drink from me. This time it's not against my will. I will not try to break free this time..so, Zero!" Yuki stated in a flash not stopping to witness the disgust reflected on Zero's face.
"Stop it, Yuki." Zero's voice was low and calm.
"But Zero.." Yuki tried to protest.
"I said stop it!!" Zero's calm voice was now a mix of anger and irritation which made Yuki end up silence.
"I'm fine. That's all you need to know. Stop offering yourself like you are some kind of blood bank or something!"
"How do you expect me to believe all that, Zero?" Yuki's voice was filled with worry and she did not wait for a reply to continue.
"You haven't had blood in so long and on top of that, you are incapable of drinking blood tablets. How can I think you are fine when you are going through all that? I just want to be of help to you, so why don't you let me do what I want? I am not going to stop until you accept to drink from me, Zero!"
The girl would not go back on her word once she's made up her mind about something. The best choice would be to give in to her words and that was what he always did up until now when Yuki chose to do something. He would just go along with it. But not this time! No way in hell would he drink from her a second time.
He had yet to forgive himself for drinking from her the previous time. Yuki's shocked and sad expression that night was something he could never forget in all his life and he had no desire to relive it all right now. Although his mind was totally against the idea of biting Yuki, his body was talking a whole different srory. It was just like Yuki had said. Drinking her blood had soothed his hunger a little bit, but that could hardly be called a convincing meal. It had only delighted his senses for a few seconds only to leave him even craving for blood even more. It took him all his willpower to stop himself from jumping on Yuki the instant she brought up her suggestion, and he was in no state to argue over the fact right now. He needed to get away from her as soon as possible. He did not truly trust the beast inside him to stay put when Yuki was offering herself to him like this.
Zero's eyes flashed a slight shade of red, but he was able to suppress it before Yuki noticed anything.
"Yuki..please go away." He could not command the girl any longer. All he could do was plead, hoping that the girl would be clever enough to retreat. He faced the floor, unable to keep his eyes on Yuki. He could even hear Yuki's pulse and her sweet scent of blood was totally driving him out of his mind.
'Yuki..please..'
"Zero, I have made up my mind. I will always be your ally no matter what. You don't need to hold back. Drink, Zero!"
Zero was far beyond his limits. He could not tolerate it any longer. He slowly made his way towards Yuki's pale neck and sank his extended fangs into the pale flesh. All he could think of was how delicious Yuki's blood was and in a deep corner of his mind, he was aware of the grave sin he was commiting.
A gasp escaped from Yuki as she felt Zero's fangs enter her and drain her of her lifeblood. The pain was making her numb and all she could think was how helpless Zero had been all this time. She was relieved by the fact that she was helping Zero and at the same moment another half of her heart was worried over the fact of betraying Kaname. Yuki's heart was a mixture of relief and guilt while her silver haired friend continued to drain her little by little.
