Hi readers! It's been a while since I last updated and I apologize for the long wait. So, without further ado...here is chapter 6 of conflicting feelings. Hope you enjoy. Note that I have not reread the chapter and corrected any mistakes.*

Kaname was on his way to the school building along with the rest of the night class when the scent of blood suddenly hit the air. The entire night class halted on their journey to class when the scent filled their sharp senses. The scent of blood was mild and a normal vampire would not have even sensed it at all, but the night class was filled with aristrocats and their senses were far more sharp than that of common vampires. However, only the pureblood prince succeeded in pinpointing the source of blood and lost no time in assuring Yuki was out of danger.

"Takuma, tell the others to pay no attention to the scent and get to class. Do not let them leave the çlassroom at any cost." The brunette ordered while facing the green-eyed blonde noble at his side.

"Very well, Kaname" the vice dorm president responded.

Kaname moved in vampire speed through the woods following the sweet scent of blood that grew harsh by the second. The sweet blood that smelt more like perfume to him even managed to bring out his vampiric urges. His eyes turned a slight shade of red for a split second and his slightly extended fangs throbbed a little. The pureblood prince was a master of control and would not have reacted in the slightest to a mild scent of blood. But this was no common blood. This blood was definitely Yuki's. The scent was too bitterly familiar to him eventhough he had no way to taste it for himself given his status as a pureblood. Not being able to taste the blood he so desired was one reason for Kaname to dislike his superior status.

'Yuki..do not tell me you..' Kaname had long before comfirmed the cause of Yuki's bloodshed and their was no room for any suspicions in his mind when he found out where the trail led to. The campus stables. One of the few places where Kiryu chose to spend his free time.

No matter how well Kaname had predicted the situation, seeing Yuki pleading for life while trembling in the hunter's arms while the silver haired teen ruthlessly drained her did nothing to ease his anger or despair.

What made him feel guiltier than ever was that the girl was whispering his name. She was calling out to him to save her and he had failed to come to her side right when she needed him the most. And Zero..the pathetic level E! Was he somehow trying to prove the point that he could freely take whatever he needed, something that even the pureblood himself had no free access to? The thought immediately made Kaname's eyes turn red. This time though, it was a deep shade of crimson. He could even feel his nails sharpening into claws. Right now, nothing else mattered. He needed to shred the silverette into a zillion pieces.

He could have put his desires into action without any difficulty, and the vampire world would have taken no notice of it. Infact they would praise him for his deeds. But in the human world, the actions would be viewed in a whole different perspective.

He would show Zero his place though..just not..not right infront of Yuki. He couldn't have cared less what other humans thought of him. Just not this particular human girl. He would not dare show the cruel and ruthless side of himself to Yuki. Yuki deserves his care and love, nothing else. He would hide his truly vampiric side of him from her and make her view him in a completely positive light. It was not the right thing to do. But he was ready to take the chances for Yuki.

"Get off of her, you filthy vermin!" the words flew out of his mouth filled with rage. Both Yuki and Zero looked at him, apparently shocked. Yuki's gaze, however, was replaced with relief and gratitude in a matter of seconds. Her lips slightly parted, but no words left out as the brown haired girl lost consciousness soon afterwards.

The silverette's crimson eyes gained its usual lavender as Yuki went limp in his arms and the teen's expression was of utmost horror when Yuki did not respond to his words.

"Yuki?..Yuki..Yuki!!" the teen continued pleading for Yuki to wake up, so much that he even seemed to have entirely forgotten his presence.

"How do you expect Yuki to wake up when you mercilessly drained her of every drop of her blood, E?" his words made the silver haired teen halt halfway through his pleads and turn his gaze towards the ground.

Kaname expected to see the hunter retorting back with his usual harsh language, but to his surprise, the silverette turned pale, even more so than Yuki who had lost almost all the haemoglobin in her system. The teen turned his gaze to the unconscious Yuki on his lap and he seemed as if he was in the verge of tears.

'Verge of tears? No way in hell would he have felt a shred of remorse for his actions. Because if he did, he would not have attempted to drink from her a second time.'

Kaname walked towards the two figures on the floor and took the girl in his strong hands. Yuki was light as a feather and he had no trouble carrying her away.

"I assume you are satisfied now, Kiryu. This time though, you would not be shown any mercy. I shall inform Cross of your actions and you shall be transferred to the night class right away. You, of all people have no right to argue and this time Yuki will not be there to keep you from transferring either." Kaname said, maintaining his calm facade while walking away from the stables , leaving Zero on the floor, alone, paralyzed in shock.
