"So you are absolutely fine with transferring?" Cross questioned Zero once he had finished relating the issues at hand to Zero. Not only did Zero agree to transfer, he didn't even look angry nor surprised.

"You are absolutely absolutely fine with it?" Kain repeated the question to make sure the boy was hearing right.

"Stop repeating already! Even though you are asking me that I am sure you know that I have no choice but agree. I won't disobey. Not after what I did to Yuki." Zero's expression darkened once he mentioned Yuki in front of Cross. Yuki..he wanted so badly to know whether she was fine, but oh well..how could she be alright? All her lifeblood was cruelly sucked off from her body and was coursing through his veins!

"You don't have to act like you care. I bet you are cursing me right now beneath that fake smile of yours. Just stop acting like you give a damn about me!" Zero yelled and walked towards the wooden table where he had left the Bloody Rose.

Cross watched as Zero lifted the weapon and directed it at him. The first thought that ran through his mind was that Zero was going to shoot him out of anger, but then, the weapon could not inflict any harm on him.

"Zero?" the light brown haired man raised his voice in confusion.

"Take it" Zero said while holding his gun at the man.

"What? Why should I take it? You may be transferring from the day class to the night class, but that does not mean you are not a vampire hunter, Zero" Cross said in a hurry.

"I am asking you to take it and do what you truly wish to do with it" Zero continued to explain.

"And what do you assume I truly want to do with it? Bloody Rose is your hunter weapon and I have no desire to use it. I am not sure I understand what you are asking of me, Zero" Cross's confusion was only increasing by the minute.

"Kill me. I'm asking you to end my life with it. If you are telling you can't use Bloody Rose for that, then use some other hunter weapon of yours. I don't mind. The important thing is that you kill me"

Cross stared at Zero as if looking at an alien, bewildered and shocked beyond words by what the boy had asked of him.

"Kill you? And would you mind sharing the reason for asking such a ridiculous question from the man who adopted you? I don't think I raised you up until now just to end your life once you grew older, Zero" the former hunter's voice was serious than ever and his expression showed Zero how hurt he was to hear what he had just said to him.

For a split second, seeing the man's hurt expression made him want to take back his words, but the thought vanished as soon as it had come to him. Cross deserved to end his life because he had endangered Yuki's. He should have been more than happy to carry out his wishes after all the things he had done to his one and only daughter, but why did he seem so disappointed when he was willingly giving Cross the chance to end his life and thereby eliminate a huge threat to his daughter's life.

"Why aren't you taking this opportunity to kill me when you don't have to worry about any repercussions? No one would blame you for ending the life of an E who went rampant on campus grounds. I am the one who is asking you to do it so you don't have to worry about it being against my will either" Zero's lavender eyes met Cross's which were filled with sorrow.

"No, Zero. I don't have any intention of killing you. I do not blame you or think ill of you for drinking from Yuki. It's true that I was worried about her, but I never cursed or blamed you for whatever happened not even once!" Cross said while walking towards the silverette who was still holding the gun at him.

Zero backed away few steps as Cross approached him.

"Stay away from me!" he yelled at the approaching man, but Cross did not heed his words and instead kept on walking towards him.

"Zero, Son, please listen to me. Stop blaming yourself for what happened today at the stables. What happened was out of your control and you could have done nothing about it"

"I could have stopped it from happening again. If I had only..if only I had been strong enough to kill myself the first time I bit her..then..then she wouldn't have had to go through all that a second time.." the strong facade Zero had tried to maintain in front of Cross finally shattered into pieces as a tear rolled down his cheek.

"Zero.." Kain lifted his hand to comfort Zero, but the silverette backed further away from him as he did so.

Zero wiped the tear away hastily with the sleeve of his shirt and faced his adoptive parent once again.

"If you refuse to do what I say, then get out of here and leave me alone" Zero said in irritation.

"After hearing you talk about all this stuff about killing yourself and all...I think I'd rather stay here than leave you here with your foolish thoughts. You'll have to put up with me for the night.." Cross said, returning back to his girly tone earning another glare from the silverette.

"And I think it would be better for you to hang onto that weapon of his for the meantime, Cross"

Zero and Cross were surprised to find Kaname leaning on the open door. Neither of them knew how the pureblood prince had let himself in through a locked door without any of them knowing.

"Kaname-kun, what a surprise to find you here at this hour!" Cross directed his words at the newcomer.

"Cross, I need to speak with Zero of some matters. Would you mind leaving?" Kaname said while choosing to ignore Cross's previous question.

"Alright..But first, Zero, hand me over the Bloody Rose. I will be hanging onto it for now" Cross said while facing the silverette who was frowning at him and the brunette who had entered. He reluctantly handed the gun over to Cross who left the room as soon as he got his hands on the weapon.

'Great..now I'm alone with this bastard without Bloody Rose at that! Am I really not even allowed to choose the person who ends my life? Does it really have to be Kuran of all people?' Zero cursed silently while Kaname slowly walked towards him.
