Prompt: "I missed you, and your voice, and your hugs."

Nico had felt Jason's death weeks ago. He had taken it out on the gods, insulting them, he took it out on campers, by raising skeletons, and he took it out on himself, blaming himself for not being there for Jason, as Jason was for him.

It was so painful, a stab to his heart, to hear the confirmation from Apollo. It makes everything so real, and it would hit him every time. Jason is dead. Jason is dead. Jason is dead.

He knew no one was feeling the pain. Thalia Grace had a brother pain. Just as strong, but a different type. Piper McLean had a love pain. Again, just as powerful, maybe even more worse, but not the same.

Jason was Nico's friend, and this was as bad as Bianca's death. Maybe it was Tartarus that had influenced his feelings and rage, but he felt that part of him was lost. And he was worried he might never find it again.

He needed Jason beside him right now, just chatting whatever he wanted, or giving him a super tight hug. He might've complained back then, but now, oh things he would do to hear Jason's voice again.

It wasn't necessary just Jason's death. It was also Bianca's. He felt it was his fault. He was never there to save them. He wished Percy was here. Percy knew how it was for someone close to him to die.

He'd always wondered about Percy. So many deaths, and now, he's the greatest demigod to live. He doesn't know how he copes with deaths. Does he move on? Or maybe he uses them for energy. All Nico knows is that he wasn't prepared for any deaths in his life, and he's still going on, trying for a happy life.

That's what Nico wants. To stay at Camp Half-Blood, to listen to the cringey campfire songs, sit next to Will, and be close to friends.

Right now, more than ever, the future seemed impossible.

He thinks he's going insane. Absolutely insane. He's convincing himself that he's crazy. He's not really sure if he was overexaggerating. He might be going into madness.

Of course his little lunch sessions with Mr. D might have been helping, but a friend's death is a pain that will stay with you forever.

There was of course, another person helping him in the journey. Will, his utmost hope and sunshine in the world. He might be a significant annoyance, but Will's his significant annoyance, and he would never have it another way.

But right now, something felt wrong, and he knew he needed to face Jason. Talk to his face to face. Some kind of life form of him.

So, he decided to. Nico wasn't sure what impulsive reaction had caused this to happen, but he felt that to prevent him from going insane, he needed to talk to him again.

He walked over to infirmary, grabbed ambrosia and a flask of nectar. He headed to his cabin, where darkness was at greatest.

He stood beside his bunk bed(he always slept at the bottom), and moved into the shadow of the bed.

He concentrated, focusing on the Underworld. And in a flash of black, his energy drained out, and he was whisked away.

Wherever he was, he collapsed on to the rough ground. He hastily pulled out the ambrosia, and ate two bites. Once he was healed, he stood up and walked into nowhere.

Nico knew the Underworld like the back of his hand. He had never been to all the parts of the Underworld, but being a son of Hades gave him such powers. He knew Jason was close. Nico could feel Jason's aura.

Nico ran forward, turned left, right, up, down, left again, and was about to turn a right when he saw a flicker of blond.

Jason.

He raced forwards, and caught the blond in a tight hug. Jason reached for his coin, but once he saw Nico's face, he put it away.

"I missed you, and your voice, and your hugs."

Nico was not one to ever be sentimental, but emotions were pooling out.

Jason lightly chuckled, but Nico could hear it was slightly shaky.

"Hey, Nico. How are you?"

Nico looked up at the older boy(well, technically younger), ready to be extremely frustrated, but as soon as he saw Jason's face, all his feelings melted, but he tried his best.

"How are you? That's what you say! You left me, like everyone else-"

Nico's voice cracked, and Jason's eyes were swimming with tears. A few fell down his cheeks.

"I'm sorry Nico. I-I'm so sorry. I-"

Nico watched as Jason cried. Some kind of sick satisfaction filled him.

Now you feel my pain. Feel the misery you caused me.

It was horrible, yet pleasing. Then Nico looked straight as eyes, and came into reality. One of the most beautiful eyes was filled with pain, and he was still enjoyingit.

God, he was sick.

He started to cry, feeling Jason's emotions roll off onto him, combined with his own, and they stayed, in a tight embrace, using the precious time they have left.

They cleaned up, still staying in their position, but somehow had ended up sitting down.

Nico should have been angry, but he should have known by now. Jason Grace is impossible to be angry at.

At some point, Nico broke the comfortable silence.

"What did happen? I mean, Apollo told us, but you need to tell me every single detail."

Jason explained about Piper, and the breakup, the Burning Maze, Caligula. He explained the prophecy. He explained how school was before Apollo came.

Nico could see the smile on Jason's face when he was talking about school, and suddenly, Nico felt angry towards Apollo.

He couldn't just have left Jason alone, could he? Let a hero rest for once, they deserve it. But Apollo, and his stupid head, had to come complain all of his problems to Jason.

Jason must have realized what Nico was thinking, so he paused.

"It's not Apollo's fault. Every demigod has their ending. Good, bad, short, long, at some point, they're going to leave this crazy world. The important part is for the people still alive to move on. And when they die, the people still alive need to move on as well. It's a cycle. Die. Move on. Die. Move on. Just because we're in a demigod world, doesn't mean our lives become purposely short. Many mortals die as well, like from car accidents and shootings."

He continues, moving his hands around to explain.

"While being a demigod increases the chance of dying a little-"

Nico snorted.

"Ok, maybe a lot. But it's always the same cycle, for both sides of the world. Die. Move on. Over and over again. That's how life works. And right now, you need to work on the move on step."

Nico was almost bewildered. How could this stupid guy expect him to move on?

"You χαζός, you really thought I could just move on?" You little-"

Jason puts his hand in surrender. "Calm down, Nico. But I'm telling the truth you need to move on."

Nico was in a mix of emotions. Confusion, desperation, anger, sadness, and a little bit of nostalgia.

"How the hell am I supposed to move one, Jason. You were so-you are so important to me, and I can't ever think of living without you."

Jason has a sad smile.

"Think of happiness. Everything that makes you happy. I know I'm important to you, you are important to me as well, but just remember me. Smile when you think of me. Smile whenever you think of our good memories. It'll make everything better, trust me."

He trusted Jason with his life, with Hazel's life, with his soul entirely.

"Now that we've got that covered, tell me about Apollo."

Nico told Jason about how Apollo, Meg, Will, Rachel, and himself started their journey. He told stories of the dead. He poured his heart out to Jason, because he trusted him.

"How's Piper?"

Nico immediately tensed up. He doesn't have any bad feelings toward Piper, but he's not sure he should talk about her girlfriend, Shelly.

"Um...she's getting better. Finding her place in the world."

"Is she in any relationships?"

He thought Jason might be sad, but he seemed genuinely curious, and not jealous.

"She has a girlfriend, named Shelly."

Jason jumped up in surprise.

"So she's a bisexual! Never knew that. Either way, I'm glad she's doing good."

He suddenly looked solemn, which surprised Nico in the expression change

"Make sure to take care of them. All of them. I know they can take care of themselves, but promise me you'll take care of them. Every single one."

Nico knew it was a big promise, but he also knew he had to say yes.

"I swear on the River Styx that I will take care of the demigods with all power I can."

Thunder rumbled, but it was incredibly louder. Nico knew it was because the River Styx was in the underworld.

Jason grinned.

"Thanks, Nico. I think it's my time to go."

Jason pointed towards the panel of judges, and a guy was being chained up, and was taken to the Fields of Asphodel.

Jason winced, and became nervous.

"What if I get placed in the Fields of Asphodel? Or worse!"

Nico laughed, which made a rumbling sound in the area.

"Jason Grace. You could even go to the Isles of the Blessed if you wanted. There's no need to be worried. So what are you going to choose?"

Jason calmed down immediately, as if Nico's words were the most important sentences uttered to him.

"Isles of the Blessed. You know, I need a restart. While I did enjoy this life, I'm going to relax on the Isles of the Blessed, and maybe rebirth."

Nico was sad that he might never hear from Jason ever again, but he knew Jason deserved it.

"Good choic-"

A loud voice echoed, very raspy.

"Jason Grace. Demigod. Report to get judged."

Jason looked towards him.

"What happens if you don't go?"

"You don't want to know."

They stood there, then burst into laughter, and Nico savored the last laugh with Jason he'll ever get.

In the middle, he goes over and hugs Jason, trying to get one last touch. Jason hugs back, so tight, Nico might die, but he's used to Jason's hugs.

"I'll miss you Nico. A lot."

Nico stays silent for a moment.

"Same as well."

He eventually loosened his grip on Jason, and Jason smiles at Nico. He captures it in his mind, to keep it forever.

Jason turns around and walks towards the judges, but not before waving to Nico.

Nico had tears on his cheeks, and waved back.

Nico for once wished he didn't have the power to talk to the dead. It would make it easier to say goodbye.

Nico appeared back in his cabin, and once again, quickly ate a little more ambrosia. Then he collapsed on the floor.

"Jason's happy now. And he deserves it. All you have to do is move on," he tells himself.

He goes into bed, wraps his black blanket around him, and recollects his memories of his friend.

Jason Grace. Remembered forever.

a/n: hey everyone, i'm incredibly late. like really late. like i'm sooo sorry for being late, and i hope you forgive me!

this is my longest one-shot, which calls for another party, because, why not?

i honestly think i should be quoted, honestly, jason's speech was inspiring to me, even though i wrote it, which is weird, but whatever.

this story is an angst story, i guess. maybe this a reused idea, i have no idea, i've never seen a fanfic like this, but then again, it could just be me.

shoutout to NaoSa and supreme fangirl for reviewing my stories, you guys are amazing.

i do plan on writing more percabeth one-shots, i mean, who could live without fangirling over percabeth. not me! XD

have any questions on the story, please do ask me, i will answer them to my best.

this story was kind of personal for me. like i understand nico a bit, because i've had feelings where i think i'm going insane. luckily, my family and friends helped me, so i'm getting better, day by day.

i felt like jason is so underrated, and said to be annoying and all that crap, but i love him. while percy is my favorite character, jason is still amazing, and this was just in honor of him,

the ending was okay, a little cliché, but i say it worked fine.

please review, i would appreciate it a lot.

see you whenever i next update. bye!

xx
