"So, you and this lady were a thing?" said Dr. Strange, as Peter and Mary-Jane attempted to lead him to the museum.
"Uh, yeah, didn't last, though," said Peter.
"And she told you that she had a son?"
"Yep."
"And you thought you were the dad."
"Yeah."
"So... that means... you two..."
"I know, I know! But we both regret it! We're never doing it again! It was a bad idea, noting more!"
Strange suddenly coyly looked at Mary-Jane. "What do you have to say about that?"
"We were... apart at the time!" said Mary-Jane.
"Did he ever do that for you?" Strange said, grinning smugly.
"What do you care!?" Peter defended. "She... she wasn't ready to do something like that, okay?"
"Okay..." said Strange, "but if I were you, I'd be miffed that he wouldn't do that for you!"
"Shut up!" said Mary-Jane. Fortunately, they finally arrived at the museum, but they could see a few Fisk thugs walking inside.
"Uh, oh," said Peter. "So, Fisk knows Felicia's here?"
Both Miles and Felicia were trying to fight their way through Fisk's thugs, but they just kept coming. Miles was simultaneously trying to focus on the thugs and make sure Felicia wouldn't get away. He didn't understand what on earth was in that box that Felicia and Fisk thought it was so important to fight like this over.
Some thugs ganged up on him, but he shot out a web to tangle him up before swinging him to bowl down a few others. Let's see if this works. he thought. As another thug got closer to him, he jabbed him and the thug suddenly felt an strong shock before falling unconscious.
Felicia was rushing through the thugs by utilizing her new reflexes, kicking and spinning to knock them away. She grabbed one thug with a web line before reeling him in to knee him in between the legs. "Hmph, men are kind of dumb."
"That box doesn't belong to you!" said a thug. "What're ya trying to do, steal it?"
"Of course not," said Felicia. "Didn't you know? The Black Cat wants it more than anything. You should thank me. I'm protecting it."
Miles was legitimately surprised to hear that. What she just said... it would have been so easy to throw Peter under the bus... but she didn't. Why?
As Peter, Mary-Jane, and Strange approached the museum entrance, they a couple of Fisk thugs in the way.
"Ugh, we gotta get past these guys, and fast!" said Mary-Jane.
"Well, I can just-" started Strange.
"Hang on, guys, I can deal with them," said Peter, walking forward, albeit with a sense of dread.
"How? You don't have any powers," said Mary-Jane.
"How do think Felicia always got by?" said Peter, as he inhaled in dread as he moved forward.
Mary-Jane raised an eyebrow, until she slowly dawned with realization. No, no, he's not seriously gonna-
Peter approached the thugs and called out, "Hello, boys. Awful late, don't you think?"
"Hardy! So, you finally showed up!" said a thug, aiming a gun.
"Come on, boys," said Peter, grinning smugly. "Can't you take pity on a sweet, lost girl like myself? It's not easy, stealing all the stuff you could never afford. How else is a girl to survive in this crazy world?"
As Peter said this, he moved rather close to the thugs, who could help but have their faces turn red. "Uh, uh, well, I mean, I can't speak for the boss, but we don't have any personal beef with you. We-we can understand."
Peter smiles coyly, and said, "I'm so glad you feel that way. Surely, you wouldn't hit a lady?"
"N-no, of course not."
"Then you wouldn't mind-" Peter started, before suddenly, the two thugs fell through some gold ring portals below them, and he heard them screaming behind them. He turned his head to see them falling high from the sky onto someone's car. He then looked over to see Dr. Strange with his hands glowing.
"Did you forget about the all-powerful sorcerer you have?" said Strange, an eyebrow raised.
"Uh, apparently..." said Peter sheepishly.
"Why was that your first idea?" said Strange.
"I don't know!" said Peter. "It worked before and I just didn't wanna make a scene!"
"Couldn't you have just punched them?"
"I was about to! The point of the flirting was to get them to lower their guard!"
"If you say do," said Strange. Peter suddenly noticed the weirded-out look on Mary-Jane's face.
"Mary-Jane?"
"Uh, it's nothing," said Mary-Jane, "We should just get going."
Still, she thought to herself, Man, he does that right in front of his girlfriend? I know he's not really... but why does he have to make it more awkward than it already is?
"Yes, yes, let's," said Strange, Peter's- or rather Felicia's- face completely red.
Tearing through the thugs, Miles and Felicia we're maintaining the upper hand. Eventually, it seemed the goons ran out, and Miles turned to attack Felicia. However, Felicia anticipated this and knocked him to the floor before webbing him up.
"You didn't think you pull a fast one on me, did you, kid?" said Felicia. "Look at me! I'm like a two in one deal!"
"What do you want, Felicia?" said Miles as he struggled against the webbing.
"Just this treasure," said Felicia. "It's precious to me. After that, I'd be only too happy to give Peter his body back."
Suddenly, they heard yelling, and saw more Fisk thugs pour in. "Oh, come on, how many goons could he possibly have?" said Felicia. She prepared to fight them, but suddenly, they were all wrapped in some red ribbons that shot through the air, before they were suddenly burned by a blue fire coming out of the ground. Once the fire disappeared, all the thugs fell unconscious. Then, Felicia looked up in horror to see Dr. Strange appear before her, Peter and Mary-Jane right behind him.
"Uh, wh-who are you?" she stuttered. Honestly, seeing this guy floating in front of her, she was legitimately scared for the first time in a long time.
Strange said nothing as his hands glowed. Suddenly, Felicia felt herself ripped from her new body, and looked down to see her spirit, now looking like her old self, floating in the air alongside Strange's.
"Yep, it's you, alright," said Strange before he placed their spirits back. He then wrapped up Felicia in his red ribbons, and angrily demanded, "Felicia Hardy, the scroll, where is it!?"
"S-scroll?" Felicia squeaked out.
"The one you stole from the Sanctum Santorum!" said Strange. "Hand it over, now!"
"Okay, okay!" said Felicia. "It's in my pocket! Just put me down, and I'll hand it to you, okay?"
Strange looked at her sternly, before complying and unwrapping her. Slowly, Felicia pried the scroll out of her pocket and Strange quickly took it.
"Finally," said Peter. Mary-Jane, meanwhile walked over to help get Miles out of the webbing. "Now just put that treasure on the ground, and we can switch back."
"What? No!" said Felicia. "This treasure's mine! You don't understand! You can have your body back, but I am not giving up my father's treasure!"
"You best just cooperate with us, Ms. Hardy," said Strange, his hands glowing again. Felicia felt herself sweating until suddenly, they all heard Mary-Jane and Miles scream. They looked over to see some of the Fisk thugs conscious again, now about to shoot them.
"Oh, no you don't!" said Strange, flying to grab them with telekinesis. The thugs looked terrified before Strange smacked them against the wall. However, as he turned back to Felicia, he saw her running off.
"Get back here!" Peter said, following closely behind her. Strange sighed as he pried the webbing off of Miles and they and Mary-Jane followed.
However, once they made it out of the archaeology exhibit, they saw Peter and Felicia were nowhere to be seen. They looked around confused until Miles called out, "Hey, over here!" Strange and Mary-Jane looked over to see him standing over a trapdoor, which wasn't fully closed.
"What is that?" said Mary-Jane.
"I bet it's some kind of tunnel Fisk used to smuggle stuff into the museum."
"C'mon," said Strange. "Let's just find those two crazy kids and fix this whole mess already."
In the tunnel, Felicia was trying to find her way back outside. If she could just find a place to hide this box, she could come back and give Peter his body back, and everything would be fine.
However, her new Spider-Sense went off as she turned and barely dodge Peter trying to hit her. "Enough of this, Felicia! I want my body back, and to see that treasure stay here!"
"You could've had your body back," said Felicia. "But this treasure is mine!" Suddenly, her time of voice got softer. "Petey, please, this treasure is very important to me."
Peter raised an eyebrow at her, and said, "So? You've never showed any of that consideration to me before, now have you?"
Felicia pauses upon hearing that, but had to dodge as Peter attacked once again. "Enough!" Felicia saw Peter suddenly undo her body's ponytail, allowing her ghostly white hair to flow. "I'll just have to catch you myself!"
Peter threw punches and kicks at Felicia, but her new body's Spider-Sense allowed her to see all his moves coming, so she was easily able to dodge and then counter with a few kicks to Peter's new legs.
"Petey, please," said Felicia, "You think I want to feel that once I get my body back?"
"Oh, you're about to feel a lot worse than that," said Peter, throwing another kick, and managing to knock the box out of her hands.
"Hey!" said Felicia, before she started to spray him with webbing. Peter was only barely able to dodge as the sticky substances splatted against the floor.
"Just what is in that box that you want so badly!?" said Peter.
"It's personal!" said Felicia. "I thought you of all people would understand."
"Understand?" said Peter. "Understand!? You steal my body, rob a dangerous man, and prepare to leave me to take the blame, all this after to lie to me, emotionally manipulate me, and leave me to Hammerhead!? And you say I should understand!? Why on earth should I try to understand anything you say or do?!"
"Petey, I-"
"Don't 'Petey' me! You're a terrible person, Felicia! You don't care about me, so stop pretending that you do! That actually hurts worse! You don't care about me, you don't care about anyone but yourself! You're a selfish little rat, and maybe it's time I put you away like the horrible criminal you are!"
Felicia actually paused at that. Peter's words, they just cut straight through to her heart. It-it, it wasn't true, was it?
However, her momentary distraction allowed Peter to get in closer and kick her down. He put himself on top of her and tried to pin her down, but his old body's superior strength allowed Felicia to toss him off.
Dang it! thought Peter. How do I beat her? Ugh, why do I have to be so good at fighting!? How does Felicia always get away from me? Peter paused. Duh! Reaching behind him into Felicia pack, he fished around for something useful. Fortunately, he found a familiar device: an EMP. Quickly, he threw it at Felicia and it burst with blue sparks. The sparks ran up and down Felicia's body, until she looked at her web shooters and saw they were fizzling.
"Now isn't that just so annoying?" said Peter, smiling coyly. Felicia growled and tried throwing a punch, but Peter was fast enough to dodge. However, she kept on punching, and she was moving just a little too fast for Peter to stay out of the way. He was smacked around by some of them, until Felicia kicked him by the legs and he fell over.
Peter looked up at Felicia standing over him, as she knelt down his face. "I didn't want any of this, Peter. You've got to believe that."
"It's too late for that now," said Peter. Before Felicia could react, Peter touched her leg, and she felt a sharp zap. "This tasers in your gloves are great! Where can I get them?"
Felicia had to back up, but then she saw that her web shooters stopped fizzling, and she aimed and fired. She succeeded in grabbing Peter by his new ankle and pulled him in closer.
"I can't let you mess this up, Peter!" said Felicia. "Now you need to back off!"
Suddenly, Peter swiped his new gloves' claws at the webbing and freed himself, before Felicia tried shooting at him again. However, Peter jumped back, and managed to hide within the darkness of the tunnel.
"You think that's gonna work?" said Felicia. She shot a web at where the Spider-Sense told her that Peter was hiding, pulling him out again.
Once Peter was close, however, Peter smiled coyly again. He cupped Felicia's- well, his- face in his hand, and said, "Now you wouldn't hit a lady, would you?"
"Uh," Felicia said, raising an eyebrow. However, she felt another zap from her own tasers as Peter slashed through the webs again, and then decided to grab the box and make a run for it. "Man, you were, Felicia. Men are so easy. Catch me if you can!"
"Yeesh, do I really sound like that?" said Felicia as she gave chase.
Peter quickly got lost as he tried navigating the tunnel. If he could just find Dr. Strange again, he could catch Felicia in an instant.
C'mon, Parker, you know yourself better than anyone! What's your weaknesses? Other than your sheer naivety, apparently. How do I get past my own Spider-Sense? It'll warn her of anything I try to do. Unless... I could overload it somehow.
He saw another trapdoor up ahead, and peeked through it. It was just an alleyway, but then he couldn't help but hear gunshots. Great, a good-old fashioned crime alley. Peter thought. Wait, that's it!
A few minutes later, Felicia finally caught up to him. She crawled through the trapdoor to enter the alleyway, but when she walked forward to find Peter, the buzzing sensation in her head suddenly became overwhelming.
"Ack!" she cried, holding her head in pain. Suddenly Peter appeared before her. "Yeah, when you're surrounded by all this danger, your Spider-Sense can't even focus on one little thing."
Felicia struggled to kick him, but only made him drop the box, which finally broke on the pavement. Peter then quickly swept Felicia's legs, making her fall down, before giving her another shock to make her unable to move for a second. He then grabbed the web shooters on her wrists and tampered with them, before they suddenly burst, covering Felicia head to toe in webbing, sticking her to the sidewalk.
"You didn't think you could beat me like this, did you, Felicia?" said Peter. He stood over her triumphantly, and smugly fluffed his new hair at her. "I know myself better than anyone." As Felicia struggled against the webbing, Peter looked over to see the broken box, but was surprised at what he saw.
It was just a small, little, toy cat, colored black, with big cute eyes.
