Abigail walked out of her café into the chilly night air feeling more angry tears fall down her cheeks. 'How could I let him in my heart and let my guard down. How could I have been so stupid?' Abigail thought as she continued to walk she wrapped her arms around herself to keep warm. "Abigail!" Bill called. Abigail ignored him and walked faster. People stopped, stared, whispered among themselves. "Why is Abigail crying?" A voice whispered, Abigail wiped away her tears with the sleeve of her purple floral dress and kept walking mostly to stay away from Bill.
A hand grabbed Abigail's arm she turned around and looked into the eyes of Bill Avery. She struggled against Bill's grip. "Bill let go." Abigail hissed through gritted teeth tears starting to fall down her cheeks again. "No Abigail not until you hear me out." Bill stated keeping his grip on Abigail's arm she struggled a little bit more not looking at Bill tears starting to fall faster. "I heard you loud and clear Bill back in the café you let that monster kiss you, and didn't bother to stand up for me when she insulted me." Abigail cried her voice hoarse she gave up and went limp against Bill's grip.
Bill's heart broke to see Abigail this way but she had to learn the truth about what happened back in the café. "Abigail just let me talk and if you don't like my explanation then I'll leave you alone." Bill spoke loosening his grip on Abigail's arm. Abigail straightened up a little but wouldn't look Bill in eyes. "Fine I'll hear you out." Abigail spoke barley above a whisper. Bill let go of Abigail completely and they both headed to the patio of Abigail's Café. Abigail kept her arms crossed over her body to attempt to keep her body heat. She sat across from Bill and folded her hands neatly in her lap and looked at Bill. "Well you wanted me to hear you out you have one minute before I go back inside and warm up." Abigail stated shivering a little from the cold.
"Abigail what you saw in the café was all wrong." Bill started Abigail leaned back a little listening to the story. "Really because what I saw you let that woman kiss and you didn't even argue against it." Abigail argued but on the inside she hoped that what she saw back in the café was all wrong. "Abigail that's not what happened Nora kissed me on the lips and kept me in place and wouldn't let me go, and you happened to come in on the scene at the wrong time Abigail and for the record I'm not in love with her anymore." Bill remarked not backing down from the argument. Abigail opened her mouth to argue back but paused and looked at him. "Then who are you in love with?" Abigail asked
Bill looked at Abigail answering her question. Bill took her hand and looked her in the eyes. "Abigail I'm sorry about what happened tonight believe me I would have stood up for you if Nora hadn't kept talking her head off." Bill stated Abigail took her hand back and stood up. "I'm glad we had this talk but I need to think over something's for a little bit." Abigail spoke; Bill got up to follow her but decided against it and sat back down waiting for Abigail to come back.
As Abigail walked further away she felt the tears coming back Abigail wiped them away and headed to the livery. The smell of horses and hay brought back memories of Abigail's family farm in Las Berghse. The boy that was in charge of the livery this week nodded his head to Abigail and continued putting hay into the horses stall. Abigail continued further in the livery until she reached her horse's stall. A brown and white Paso Fino mare, with a black and white mane, and tail walked up to Abigail and put her muzzle against Abigail's cheek asking for attention. Abigail petted the mare and unlocked the horse's stall.
Abigail grabbed the lead and clipped it onto the Paso Fino's halter and led the horse out. She took the halter off of the horse and put the halter on the hook that was on the inside of the stall. Abigail grabbed the bridle and saddle and put the bridle on first then the saddle and mounted her horse. She nudged her shoe into the horse and made the Paso Fino walk out of the stable. Abigail pulled back on the reins making the Paso Fino stop. 'Do I really want to forget about what happened back in the café between Bill, and Nora even though Bill wants me to forget and forgive?' Abigail thought she sighed and patted the horse's neck. "Maybe we both need a ride to clear our heads right Hera?" Abigail inquired Hera snorted in agreement.
Abigail nudged her foot to make Hera go into a walk when they reached near the end of town they took off into a gallop. Abigail looked out at the lake as she passed by the moon made the lake glitter under its moonlight. The reeds near the lake rustled a little as breeze went by. She looked straight ahead not really caring where they went as long as they weren't Hope Valley for a couple of minutes. Hera looked back at Abigail and slowed down a little she felt arms wrap around her neck. Hera looked back at Abigail she was laying down and was looking ahead in the woods.
The Paso Fino looked back forward and headed into the woods. Hera's ears perked up when she heard a twig snap behind them she paused and sniffed the air. Abigail sat up and looked around she shivered even with the moon lighting up the woods. A bush in front of them rustled a little Hera stepped back a little Abigail got off the horse and slowly went towards the bush. She pushed the leaves a side a brown bunny leapt out startling both Abigail and Hera. Abigail got to her feet and went back to her horse. "Maybe it was just our imagination's that are getting to us?" Abigail asked not really believing her own words she petted Hera on the muzzle calming the horse a little.
A black figure ran out from behind a tree and ran straight towards the pair Hera reared up and neighed. The figure pounced on Abigail taking them both down the hill. The black figure jumped off Abigail and watched as she rolled down the rest of the way down. Abigail's head hit a rock when she finally stopped she grunted and placed a hand to the spot where it was sore. Abigail winced and put her hand back where she could see it her hand was dark with blood. Abigail looked back up at the top of the hill the black figure was gone along with Hera. She took some shallow breaths in and out and closed her eyes. "I just need to rest for a bit that's all." Abigail murmured
"That's all."
