Redhead and blond, a match in heaven
Author's note; First of all harry potter doesn't belong to me, I just write fanfiction around it. So this story is not finished and I don't know if I will finish it ever but if I see some of you like it then I try to finish it. I hope you enjoy it and feel free to leave comments I'm always open to constructive critics, also note that English isn't my first language, and I'm sorry if there are mistakes but I am trying my best. 😊
Chapter 1
The sun was shining through her windows, she tried to hide her head under her pillow so she could sleep a bit more. Unfortunately, as much as she tried, she couldn't fall asleep so instead, she reluctantly sat up and try to start her day. She yawned and put her wild curly hair in a bun. She then got out of bed and went to the bathroom hoping her brother wasn't there. She washed her face with water and looked at herself in the mirror, her bun looked more like a big mess of red hair, her face was so pale and covered in freckles, her blue eyes looked so tired due to her long night of reading books and she was in a long shirt that arrived mid-thigh. She was almost done when she heard someone knocking on the bathroom door
"Hurry up Rose, I need to go to the bathroom now"
"A MINUTE HUGO"
She sighed exasperated by her brother and quickly changed into a t-shirt and a pair of jeans short. On her way out of the bathroom she almost tripped on their cat, Crookshank, he was this old, grumpy and ginger cat. Rose really did not understand how her mom like that bloody cat. She made her way in the kitchen and greeted her parents with each a kiss on the cheek.
"Morning Rosie my princess," her father said
"Dad, it's just rose, I'm almost of age so I would appreciate if you could treat me more like an adult."
"Of course, honey but don't forget that your birthday isn't for months" her mother answered before serving her toast and eggs for breakfast.
Rose ate breakfast in a hurry because she needed to do something and fast. As soon as she finished her toast, she almost ran upstairs to her room so she could answered to a letter she received last night, the letter was from no other than her friend Albus who was also her cousin.
Hey Al,
Of course, I would like to come to hang out with you at our place, let's say around 3 o clock. It's been such a long time since I saw you (yes 1 week is a long time for us), I cannot wait to see you, maybe there we could talk about how it's going with you and Jackson, when are you going to tell your parents that you're dating? I mean at this point you can't hide it forever. Also, I don't think Aunt Ginny or Uncle Harry will care if you are gay. I'm just saying, the sooner they find out the better. Anyways from my side nothing much happened, just my regular self-reading books and finishing our summer homework, I really hope you at least started too. I wonder when we are going to get our school letters, I mean summer is done in two weeks so it shouldn't be much longer. Alright, see you later and do not be late.
Love, Rose
Satisfied with her letter she sealed it and sent it with her owl, Snowy. They probably will meet at the treehouse they found when they were 6, it's an old one close to a forest where the Potters live close by. She then took some books and went on her bed to read some more. She slowly got lost in the world of words, books made her escaped reality and shut herself from the real world. When she looked upon a muggle clock that her grandfather gave her, she saw that she needed to hurry up otherwise she will be late. She took her bags and wand and made her way downstairs. She rapidly answers her parents that she was going to see Al and she went inside the chimney, let go of the chimney powder, and said clearly her destination. She fell inside the potter's living room and saw that Albus was there already waiting for her. He offered his hands grinning as she took it to get up.
"Such a long-time cousin, ready to go?"
"Of course, I am"
They almost made it to the backyard door without anyone noticing but at the moment they thought they made it, someone stopped them.
"Where are you both going?" Albus mother asked them
"Moooom, I told you that Rose and I were going out" Albus sighed desperately
"Of course, but you didn't answer my question, where?" Ginny said sternly to her son
"Don't worry aunt ginny, we are just going outside in nature for our work in Herbology, we need to examine plants both from the muggle world and magic. And we figured that this forest may contain both because wizards family live close by." Rose said in one short breath, the thing with the treehouse is that it's a secret between them, no one knows about it, it's their own little place. They found it long ago by accident when they adventure in the forest. They never told anyone about it and with time they promised each other to not tell people.
"Huh that's strange…we never had to do that when I was in Hogwarts"
"Well time change mom, anyways we need to go so byeee" Albus said as he took Rose by the arm and they ran to go in the forest. Ginny called after them and remind them to come home before dinner. They laughed as they ran into the forest, by now they both knew the exact way to go there. They arrived in a short 10 minutes and climb the old ladder, with time they decorated it. It now had pillows, a blanket, books for Rose, some cards game, Christmas lights that they found in their grandpa antic, and more recently, a pride flag that Albus put there because he couldn't put it in his room yet. It's there that Albus sobbed and told Rose that he liked boys, she hugged him and told him that she supports him, since then, she put a giant rainbow flag and when he saw that he laughed and hugged her hard. They shared everything there. They both sat down on pillows and Rose took out some snacks she had in her bag. She passed him some candies and took some for herself.
"Urghh I can't believe school is starting so soon," said Albus as he took a wand licorice
"You make it sounds as it's a bad thing" rose replied
"It is not a bad thing but it's just… it's our last year, I'm going to miss it you know" he said back
She nodded in understanding, with time spent there Hogwarts became more than school, it was their home. Rose couldn't believe that next year they won't go back to school but instead will be adults in the wizarding world, it was crazy to her. She knew of course that she wanted to become a healer and she absolutely had the grades to be one. Potions were her strength although, to be frank, she was brilliant in every subject there was. They both relaxed and talked about everything and nothing until rose looked at Albus and saw that he looked more…anxious than usual. She asked him of course if there was something wrong, he looked at her and took a big breath.
"Jackson want me to tell my family, he is tired of our relationship having to be a secret. And he has a point, I can't hide him forever and…I don't want to hide either. I'm tired of hiding."
Rose looked at him and squeezed his hand has support
"Whenever you think the moment is the good one to tell them, I'll be there for you Al, I'm sure everyone will accept you for who you are."
"I hope so too Rosie…I hope too"
