Chapter 5
A/N: Here I am once again with another chapter just one more then this story is over Q^Q. Just FYI it is my 2 year anniversary of this account eeekkk I'm so excited. I will have a story coming out soon that will be for my 2 year anniversary agh I'm so stoked so keep an eye out for it! And only 3 months until my birthday YAY! Sooo I just read a recent review and got a very interesting question so this question is from imajisaheartlandfan thank you soo much for your kind words it made my early day today anyways they asked; Why I chose Hera to be a Paso-Fino. Wellll I was looking through the internet for beautiful horse breeds which some of them are very common, so I decided this horse should be a unique breed of horse and so I fell upon the Paso-Fino well there was the winner there. Hera was very close to being a paint horse instead of a Paso-Fino. I also thought from the horse photos of the Paso-Fino she would go perfect with Abigail. I hope this explained why I chose this breed to be Hera I actually enjoyed explaining why I chose what I chose. There is one more chapter after this one and then done there will be a few more fallow up books after this one so be prepared (No Pun Intended).

"Abigail?"
Abigail grunted a little and turned over away from the voice in her ringing ears.
"Abigail?"
She opened her eyes a little then closed them, and opened them again to see Cody next to her asleep. Elizabeth was sitting next to her, she sat up straighter and smiled a little when she saw her awake. "How are you feeling?" Elizabeth asked. Abigail rubbed her eyes and held back a yawn. "I'm fine. How long was I out?" Abigail asked sitting up a little. "About a day and a half." Elizabeth answered feeling a lump in her throat form. She blinked her eyes trying to keep her tears a bay.
Abigail looked at her friend with concern she placed a hand on Elizabeth's hand catching her attention. "Hey what happened while I was out?" Abigail inquired taking her hand away. Elizabeth couldn't hold the tears back she leaned forward being mindful of Cody and hugged Abigail. "Y-You stopped breathing for a while a-and Cody was asking all of these questions asking if you'll ever w-wake up." She sobbed into her friend's shoulder. She felt a hand rub her back gently and humming not far from it. "It's ok Elizabeth let it out." Abigail whispered. The brunette hugged even tighter not wanting to let go. "I'm here and I'll be here for a long time."Abigail reassured as her friend continued to cry.
Elizabeth cleared her throat and pulled away from Abigail wiping away her tears. "I-I'm sorry I did that."Elizabeth apologized looking away. "It's ok. You needed someone to talk, and I'll always be here if you need to talk about what you're feeling."Abigail stated placing a hand on the teacher's shoulder with a small smile which Elizabeth eventually returned back. Cody rolled over and snuggled closer to Abigail's side which made her smile warmly at the little boy she had grown quite fond of.
"I really hope Cody wasn't any trouble to you Elizabeth." Abigail stated feeling the ringing in her ears slowly go away. "No he was no trouble all though.." Elizabeth trailed off. Abigail looked at her with concern. "What happened?" She inquired a little bit of dread seeking through. "Cody wanted to skip school and come see you." Elizabeth confessed (OK before we go any further I just want to clear something's up. Remember when Elizabeth wanted to find someone to watch Cody weelll I scrapped that idea and made to where she couldn't find anyone that could watch Cody. I hope that cleared everything up if something still doesn't make since to you please PM so I can help. Anyways onto the story.) "And I wasn't able to find anyone to watch Cody while I was away so I just left him home alone figuring he would be fine." Elizabeth added hopping that Abigail wouldn't be mad with her.
The café owner sighed in relief that it wasn't that bad. "Thank you for trying to find someone to watch Cody." She spoke trying to keep her voice level without becoming too upset over the home alone part. Elizabeth looked at her with shock. "You're not mad?" She asked a little bit confused. "I am a little bit mad but not mad enough to take it out on you." Abigail answered with a little bit of amusement she continued, "And I'm also glad you didn't try to cover it up." The brunette gave her friend a hug relived that she wasn't angry with her.
Elizabeth let go tears pricking at the edge of her eyes. "Bill has been wanting to see you for a while now, but we thought you weren't ready to see him just yet." Elizabeth stated placing her hands in her lap. Abigail dropped her gaze running her fingers through Cody's soft blonde hair. "I'm ready to see him."Abigail murmured not making eye contact with the brunette. Elizabeth nodded she got up and walked out of the room.
Abigail laid back a little and looked up at the ceiling feeling dread build up in her stomach. Boots on the ground caught her attention and she looked over to see Bill walking over. He sat down in the chair next to her bed. "Elizabeth said you wanted to see me?" He inquired. Abigail stopped petting Cody's hair and looked at him. "Yes I did I-I wanted to talk to you." Abigail replied regretting her decision on being the same room as Bill alone. "Alone." She added Bill nodded. Abigail gently shook Cody awake he grunted a little before opening his eyes. "Hmm?" Cody murmured rubbing his eyes. "Cody why don't go to Miss. Thatcher me and Mr. Avery need to have a chat." Abigail requested.
After a few minutes of arguing between the pair Cody finally gave up and walked out of the room. "Sooo…" Bill tailed off an awkward silence passed through the two. "Wh-"Bill got cut off. "I want to talk about our…. relationship." Abigail started casting her eyes down. Bill placed a hand on her arm she tensed up a little. "Abi you can tell whatever is on your mind." Bill stated removing his hand from her arm. The café owner took in a deep breath calming her nerves and looked Bill in the eyes. "I-I don't think we should go on with our relationship." She whispered. Bill's cast his eyes to the ground knowing this would happen. "Is there a reason why?" He inquired.
Abigail hugged her knees to her chest. "After what happened at the café with Nora… I-I don't think I should continue a relationship with someone who I don't trust." Abigail replied her eyes getting a little misty. Bill wanted to place his hand on her shoulder to comfort her but that was out of the question. "I understand Abigail if that's what you want." Bill spoke softly before getting up and walking towards the curtain he looked over his shoulder to see Abigail's head down on her knees. Bill's heart hurt for her knowing what it felt like to get his heart broken. "It's for the best Abigail." He whispered before he walked out of the room.
Abigail looked up when she heard her name but Bill was gone. She started to get out of bed to go after him and say she changed her mind, but Abigail stopped just before her feet touched the cold stone floor. She put her feet back on the bed and covered herself up again. 'Why did I do that to him?' Abigail thought to herself as tears started to fall. 'I never wanted to hurt him….' Her thoughts trailed off when she heard the curtains open and close. Two pairs of shoes on the floor hurried over and gave her a hug. Abigail slowly in return hugged them back the tears falling faster the more she stayed in the hug.
"I'm so sorry that happened mom." The voice murmured as he hugged tighter. The café owner's heart clenched when she heard that word. "Oh Cody." Abigail whispered hugging him a little tighter. "You know you can always come to me when you ever need to talk." A female voice stated. Abigail looked up and into Elizabeth's blue eyes. The women both smiled the trio hugged again.
"It's for the best.."
"It's for the best Abigail."
