Chapter 6
A/N: I am back with the final chapter whew who knew it would take like however many months to finish this book, but anyways this is the FINAL Q-Q chapter and I am NOT happy about it! T^T. Never fear there is like 3 or 4 more follow up books on this and I am ready to write about it…. But I won't promise you that there will be any heart string pullers in this. I finally got Bill off my tail for a little bit but I only have a couple of hours until he comes in here and checks on me … help me! O-o. Just sisterly feels in this chapter nothing romantic though I don't know why you would think that there's like a HUGE age difference lol Q-Q.

Abigail watched from the window of her café as people walked back and forth on the street. She laid her head down on her arms on the window seal and continued to watch. A soft knock came at her door. "Come in." Abigail spoke not taking her attention away from the window. The door opened with a little squeak and a pair of high heels walked across the room. "Hey Abigail, how are you feeling?" Elizabeth asked setting a tray of slightly burned food on the bed side table. "Why don't you come and eat something?" Elizabeth suggested
Abigail looked over and saw the slightly burned food and grimaced a little. Elizabeth caught the grimace and smiled a little and chuckle. "I tried to cook but you can see how that turned out." Elizabeth joked. Both of the women laughed a little, Elizabeth sat down on the bed and looked at her friend. "But seriously you haven't eaten anything ever since you left the infirmary." She stated. Abigail looked back out of the window not saying a word. Elizabeth hated to see her friend this way. "Abi what's wrong?" Elizabeth asked.
The café owner placed her head down on her arms. "Abigail?" Elizabeth asked again. Abigail lifted her head up but did not look back at Elizabeth. "I'm fine Elizabeth don't worry about me." Abigail reassured her voice cracking a little. The brunette frowned a little not believing her. "You're clearly not fine now tell me what is wrong?!" Elizabeth demanded, wincing at how harsh her voice was she placed her hand over realizing that she had shouted at her friend. "I-I'm sorry." She apologized. Abigail didn't answer she just continued to watch outside the sky was slowly turning purple. "It's fine." Abigail started and looked at her. Her eyes were a little bit puffy from crying. "It's just that I feel a little bit guilty for leaving Bill like that." Abigail continued. Elizabeth crawled over and hugged Abigail tightly.
"You did what you thought was right, and you did the right thing breaking up with Bill after that incident." assured Elizabeth, as she continued to hug Abigail. After a few minutes of sitting on the bed and hugging each other the café owner started to feel a little bit better. "Thank you Elizabeth for everything you have done for me." Peeped Abigail and let go of her friend. Elizabeth looked over at the forgotten food on the bedside table. "You should probably eat something soon or your son will have a word with you." Elizabeth bantered. Abigail rolled her eyes playfully and shoved her best friend which caused the brunette to go into a fit of giggles. "I'll be down in a little bit." Abigail stated.
The brunette got off the bed and picked up the plate and started towards the door. "Maybe Cody will want to try my food?" Elizabeth wondered looking at Abigail. The café owner arched an eyebrow and laughed a little. "I doubt he would judging your history in the kitchen." Abigail commented which earned her a glare from the teacher. "You burn one piece of toast and you never hear the end of it." Elizabeth grumbled as she walked out of the room. Abigail shook her head in amusement and got out of bed.
The café owner was pulling her hair into a low side ponytail as she walked down the stairs. Once she stepped off the final step something knocked into her taking her off her feet. "Cody!" Elizabeth scolded looking up from what she was doing at the stove. Abigail laughed a little and hugged her soon to be son that was piled up in her lap. Cody looked over at his teacher with a sheepish smile. "Oops?" Cody guessed. "Cody, why were you even running?" Abigail inquired letting go of Cody. The boy looked down his face bright red from embarrassment. "Cody?" Abigail inquired again crossing her arms with an arched eyebrow.
Cody turned back around to face Abigail the sheepish smile still on his face. "Well…." Cody hesitated, "Iwasgoingtojumpscareyouifyouhadn'tcomeoutyet." Cody rambled in one breath hoping his soon to be mother wouldn't catch what he had said. Abigail and Elizabeth both had really confused looks on their faces. "Come again this time a little bit slower." rejoined Abigail. Cody deflated a little knowing that he was busted for real. "I was going to jump scare you if you hadn't come out yet." The boy restated feeling doom settling in.
The caramel blonde woman took a calming deep breath in and out she put on a strained smile and looked at her soon to be son. "You have five seconds to run before I take you down and give you your punishment." Abigail insisted. "1..." Abigail started. Cody immediately got off of his soon to be mother and took off running out the back door. "2….3….4…" Abigail continued and slowly got to her feet. "5!" Abigail ended and took off running after Cody.
Elizabeth watched in amusement as her friend took off after the young boy. Threats and screams were heard outside as the brunette tried to continue cooking. Jack came in from the back door of the café with a slightly scared face. "I just saw Abigail and Cody out there having some kind of game of chase only they are both are covered in mud." Jack sputtered. The brunette smiled and walked away from the stove and gave Jack a kiss on the cheek. The Mountie looked over at the stove and looked back at Elizabeth with a slightly scared look. "Are you cooking or is Abigail cooking?" queried Jack. The brunette glared at him and punched him in the shoulder.
Jack held his arm in a mock injury which earned him another glare from the brunette. "Anyways did you speak to Bill yet?" Elizabeth asked closing the back door so no one could hear in particular Abigail and most importantly Cody. Jack lowered his hand from his arm. "Yes I have he hasn't been himself since the 'incident' with Abigail." Jack responded putting air quotes around 'incident'. "How about you?" He added walking over to the stove and took the pan off of the stove, and put it onto the table, on a pot holder. Elizabeth walked over and took a seat and propped her head on her hands. "Abigail has been having second thoughts about breaking up with Bill." She remarked. Jack looked deep in as he paced around the room.
"That's good."Jack stated he stopped pacing and looked at Elizabeth. The brunette had a lost look on her face. "I'm lost here." She admitted. The Mountie sighed and took a seat next to Elizabeth. "That means we can continue with our plan and hopefully Nora or any other person will intervene with it." Jack explained. The teacher brightened up now remembering the plan. "Operation bring back Abibill is a GO!" Elizabeth exclaimed. Jack placed a hand over her mouth to shush her in case someone heard her.
And someone did hear the plan a familiar blonde hair woman stood outside the window like a creep she smiled once the plan was revealed. Nora walked away a little scheme forming in her head to stop them. 'You won't get those two back together and I'll make sure of it." Nora thought laughing quietly and got into the buggy with Gowen. "Did you hear what they were doing?" Henry asked as he drove the buggy. "Yes I heard it loud and clear." Nora replied fingering the money that Gowen had so gladly gave her.
