"Hey, Annabeth!" Percy called. He ran up to her and engulfed her in a big hug. He smelled like the ocean. The scent was so calming. No, it was intoxicating but in a good way.

Annabeth bowed. She lifted her skirt, but there was no. Oh, right, She thought. I'd thought that i'd dress casual today.

"Prince Percy," She teasingly said. He frowned. "You know you don't have to call me that Wisegirl." Percy said.

"Yeah yeah, I know that. I thought it would be fitting." Annabeth said."Why did you want to see me again?"

"Oh, come on. I haven't seen you in forever! I was so bored eating without my best friend." He said.

Best friends. The words lingered in Annabeth's head, bouncing around everywhere. Best friends is what they would be. Percy would get married off to some girl, move away, and she would be forgotten.

"Oh, y-yeah, me too seaweed brain." She paused, thinking about what to say. "How is the selection going so far?" She asked, trying to change the subject.

"Its going pretty well so far. I like all the girls. They're so nice and unique and so likeable!" He sighed. "But its not the same without you. Its soooo boring!"

"Haha... well same. Anyone catch your eye?" She questioned, fidgeting with her hands. "Oh, well yes. Quite a few, actually."

Annabeth suddenly felt a new feeling in her stomach. A bad one. It was anger, and sadness, and... and...

She would hate to admit this to anyone, but she was a bit Jealous. She wanted to get out of there, mostly because she was tired and because she couldn't stand it anymore!

"Oh, well I have to go now, Bye Percy." She gave him a last hug and sprinted away.

"Wait, Annabeth!" He called.

Annabeth continued to run. She didn't want to wait for a response.

She followed the instructions from the lady who gave information about the quarters. Down the hall, to the right. Found it! She mentally fist pumped. She opened the door to find... Another long hall way of rooms. On the wall to her left was a board and keys. The board said all the participants names, key, and room number. It also showed a map of the big space. This place had a meeting room, snacks room, dressing room, and a library. A library! Annabeth loved to read. Sometimes she read bedtime stories to Estelle.

She grabbed her keys and headed to room 12. She figured that all the girls were asleep because no one else was out. She put the key in its lock to reveal her room.

And it was beautiful! She loved the arches on the ceilings and the nice decor. And the colour scheme! It had marble floors and ivory pillars. A nice, plush bed with velvet pillows. She was going to love it here!

She was suprised when she heard some people talking in the closet. "Hello? Hellooo-" She was cut off by the people.

"Hello, Miss Chase! Welcome to your personal quarters. My name is Dana, That is Jules, and that is Elizabeth. We will be your maids until further notice." Dana explained quickly.

Dana was a tall lady with long, dark hair, and bronze skin. she was about in her twenties. Jules was a pretty redhead with short cropped red hair. She was younger than Dana but older than Annabeth. And finally, Elizabeth. She was short, and had sharp features. She had hazel coloured hair that flowed down her back. She was about Annabeth's age, if not younger. They were all wearing maid's outfits.

"O-oh, that makes sense." She waved her hand in supprise. "Hello, nice to meet you all. I didn't expect maids! Do you know if the others have them, too?" Annabeth asked.

" Yeah, they do. Now time for bed, Miss Chase! There will be your nightgown in the closet." Jules ushered her into the closet.

"You know, you don't have to call me ' Miss Chase '. Just call me Annabeth!" Annabeth called while changing. She came out of the closet and hopped in bed. Ahh, this feels so good. Annabeth thought.

"Oh, alright Miss Chase, err Annabeth. Are you alright? Would you like anything before we leave?" Elizabeth asked.

"Oh no, that's alright. But if you don't mind me asking, where will you be going?" Annabeth said.

"We have our own rooms where we will be sleeping." Jules said as she flickered the lights off. "Good night," They all said.

"Goodnight!" Annabeth said as they closed the door. She sighed contentedly, falling asleep in an instant. It was going to be a long day tomorrow.

TIME SKIP! (To morning)

Annabeth woke up to someone shaking her. Two people, actually. "Jules! Elizabeth! Don't be rude! Wake her up normally." Dana said.

"But shes already up!" Jules said loudly. "What... what time is it?" Annabeth asked. She wasn't used to waking up like this. She was more of a sleep in person.

"6:30." Elizabeth replied.

"Why so early?"

"Because today is the interviews, silly! Now come on. You have to shower freshen up and change. The interviews start at 10:00 and take place in the conference room. However, you will be eating breakfast at 8:30." Dana informed Annabeth.

"Oh." Was all Annabeth said as she got into the shower. It was fancy, it had all sorts of arranged shampoo bottles with scents. Her favourite was the lemon scent. After the relaxing shower she wrapped herself in a towel and walked to her bed. There was a beautiful dress on it.

It was a sparkly rose gold dress that flowed down her legs. It was simple yet elegant. it was cropped at the top too. She wasn't used to wearing a dress because they were all to puffy and uncomftorble. This one, however was comfy."Its beautiful!" She said while twirling around in it. "Thank you!"

"Oh, it was nothing. Now come on. We still have to do your hair and makeup." Jules said.

First, they did her hair and made it into a half bun and then did her make up. They had gone for a natural look, and it had worked. The three girls got up and stared at her.

"She's beautiful!" Dana said. "Yeah, Prince Percy will faint at the sight." Elizabeth giggled. Annabeth blushed beet red. "Thanks, you guys. You're all amazing." She thanked them and went to to the dining room. She was greeted by a wonderful smell. Pancakes, syrup, bacon, eggs, and was that cinnamon rolls?

She sat down beside a waving Piper. "Hi!" Piper greeted. "How are you?"

"I'm great," Annabeth yawned. "Just a little tired, that's all."

During breakfast the interviewers started calling people up one by one. No one was really eating or talking, just quietly nibbiling on their food.

One girl though was talking very loudly and bragging. "Percy likes me the best, clearly! I have everything. Money, Fame, good looks, who wouldn't want me? You losers have no chance." She said to no one in particular. Annabeth immediately reconized her as Drew Tanka. A snobby, spoiled girl who had everything while growing up. Basically your definition of spoiled.

The rest of the girls just ignored her and shot some glares.

Piper introduced Annabeth to some of her friends. They all came from neighboring kingdoms and queendoms.

Hazel- She had bronze skin and golden eyes with fizzy hair. She was sweet and kind, and She loved literature and art, especially drawing. Calypso, she was pretty cool. She has fair skin and caramel coloured hair coming down on her shoulder. She loved nature and gardening, which Annabeth thought was great. Reyna, she had a fierce personality. She had dark hair and tanned skin, and had natural beauty. Apparently she loved to run,too. she also loved fighting.

They talked and shared their stories until Annabeth got called up. "Miss Annabeth Chase." The speaker called. "Good luck!" Hazel whisper shouted.

"Wise girl!" Percy shouted as he waved to her. "Seaweed brain!" Annabeth called back. She sat down beside him, facing the camera and the interviewer.

"Hello, Miss Chase! My name is Selena Beaugard and I will be interviewing you today."

"Hello, nice to meet you." Annabeth warmly smiled.

"Okay, first question. Have you known Percy before or had a relationship? or is He new to you." She asked.

"Well, yes, we do know each other before. In fact we've been best friends since we were about 7." Percy said.

"Aww, that's so cute! That must explain 'Seaweed brain and Wise girl,' right?" Selena asked.

"Ha ha, yes. Those are just some nicknames we made up when we were little." Annabeth replied.

"Its nice that you two have a relationship. It really adds some spice to the selection."

"Yes, it certainly does. " Percy said.

The rest of the interview was just some questions, nothing important. But I couldn't help but notice Percy staring at me.

"Well, thank you Annabeth. You are a very wonderful young girl. I'll miss you quite a bit."

"I'll miss you too, thank you and goodbye. " Annabeth said to the camera as she stood up to leave.
