3rd POV

After being turned away by Rachel, Yang chose to wait outside (Y/N)'s shop for him to leave. Since then she followed him as he wandered Vale stopping at a bar to drink only to leave, wander, and stop at another. (Y/N) was currently inside his fourth bar that night and Yang had grown tired of hiding. She needed her answers.

(Y/N) POV

"Here you go (Y/N)," the bartender Forrest said as he placed a pint of beer in front of me.

It was my fourth beer of the night. With each bar I stopped at I widened my search for other Immortals using myself as bait. At the same time I hoped not to encounter anyone. I was enjoying the walk as well as the drinks. Were it any other time I would indulge myself in something stronger, but the Gathering required me to keep my senses sharp which beer could not dull easily. I took the glass from the counter and started to drink. "Do you bar crawl often?" a voice said from my right. As I continued to drink I moved my eyes to the side to see the blonde-haired girl from the night before. I finished the beer and placed the empty glass back on the counter. "What's that?" I asked facing forward and avoiding her gaze.

"Do you bar crawl often?" the blonde-haired girl asked again. "You know. Walking the town at night going from bar to bar drinking. I would've figured Junior's would be good enough on its own."

"Places like that are too rowdy for my taste," I said turning to face her. "You've been following me."

The girl moved down the counter until she sat in the stool next to mine. "I saw what you did last night," she whispered.

"And what exactly did you see?" I asked.

"You cut off a man's head," the girl answered. "You did it with the sword you have under your coat."

I smiled and laughed. "You have quite the imagination," I said feigning ignorance.

"Alright play dumb," the girl said no longer whispering. "Then at least tell me how you know my mom's name."

My smile turned into a frown as she confirmed my suspicions. "So you are Raven's daughter," I said. "I'm guessing that Taiyang Xiaolong is your father. The hair's a dead giveaway."

The girl's eyes widened. "You know my dad too?" she asked. "Who the hell are you?"

"I'm not one you should bother knowing," I told her as I stood up from my stool. I placed a Lien card next to my empty glass and proceeded to leave, but the girl stood up blocking my way. "Listen Miss Xiaolong…"

"Yang," the girl said.

"Miss Yang," I continued. "I don't want to hurt you."

"Don't do me any favors," Yang said as the bracelets on her wrists transformed into gauntlets.

I sighed. "You're not going to let this go," I said. "Tell you what. I'll make you a deal. If you can get me on my back before I get you on yours I'll tell you everything you want to know."

"Alright," Yang said satisfied with my proposition.

"Don't break anything (Y/N)," Forrest said.

"This will just take a moment," I said reassuring the bartender. I took a breath and when I exhaled my body felt lighter as my Quickening flowed throughout. Yang appeared to move in slow motion as she threw a punch. I stepped to the side watching her fist move past me. I grabbed her arm and flipped her onto her back.

Yang POV

The force of the impact knocked the wind out of me. I rolled over getting on my hands and knees and looked up at (Y/N). For a brief moment I could have sworn I saw electricity spark from behind his eyes. "What the hell?" I whispered.

"Have a good night Miss Yang," (Y/N) said. Then he perked up suddenly turning his head slightly to the side as if he had heard something. He quickly turned around and rushed to the bar exit.

"Get back here!" I shouted as I jolted toward the door after him. "I'm not done with you!" When I got outside (Y/N) was nowhere to be seen. Then I noticed the construction site across the street. If he was hiding anywhere it would be in there. I ran to the corner leading to the site's entrance but as I got ready to turn a hand came out and pulled me in. (Y/N) was holding me tight with his hand over my mouth.

"I told you to leave me alone," (Y/N) said. "It's dangerous out here." He grew silent and his body tensed up. Then a loud cry came from our side and (Y/N) pushed me away as a sword came down between us. He pulled out his own sword from his coat and faced his assailant. A man with long black hair and leather clothing wielding a claymore came out from the shadows.

"Nice to see you (L/N)," the man said with a scratchy voice as he charged (Y/N).

"Kurgan!" (Y/N) shouted raising his blade to block his opponent's.

I watched both men swing their blades creating sparks with each clash. The one (Y/N) called Kurgan was keeping him on the defensive with his powerful strikes. Then Kurgan disarmed (Y/N) and knocked him to the ground.

"There can be only one!" Kurgan shouted ready to swing his blade at (Y/N).

I aimed Ember Celia at Kurgan and fired. The round made him flinch. He turned around with his attention now on me.

"Hello pretty," Kurgan said with a smile walking towards me with his blade raised.

I continued to fire shots at him but he deflected each one as he came closer and closer. He was right in front in me and brought his sword down towards me. (Y/N)'s blade came between us blocking the strike.

"I'm not done yet," (Y/N) said pushing Kurgan back.

They continued to fight ignoring my presence. "Yang!" a familiar voice shouted. I looked behind me to see Ruby, Weiss, and Blake with their weapons ready. "What are you guys doing here?"

"We should be asking you the same thing," Weiss said. "You said you would go after (L/N)."

"Never mind that," I said "We need to stop them." We got closer to the fight to see both men with their swords crossed. "Drop your weapons now!" I shouted.

"Another time Highlander!" Kurgan shouted as he ran away disappearing into the shadows. "I will find you!"

"Wait!" Ruby called out.

"No," I said. "Let him go." The four of us turned our attention to (Y/N) who was drenched in sweat and breathing heavily. "Who was that?" I shouted. "What did he mean 'there can be only one'? Only one what?"

(Y/N) turned to face the four of us. "Yang Xiaolong," he began. "You just can't leave well enough alone. You're stubborn just like your mother. Now that the Kurgan's seen your faces he'll hunt you to get to me. If you value your lives then go back to Beacon and stay there. Forget everything you've seen. You're safer that way."

We watched as he returned his sword to his coat and walked away from us. When he was out of sight I was forced to turn around by Ruby who had tears in her eyes.

"Why did you lie to us?" Ruby asked sobbing. "You said you wouldn't go looking for (L/N)."

"He knew something about my mom," I told her. "I needed to know what he knew. How did you find me anyway?"

"We came looking for you when you didn't come back to the room," Blake answered. "It wasn't too hard to figure out what you were doing."

"Those guys could have killed you," Weiss said.

"(L/N) saved me from that Kurgan guy," I told them. "He could have let him kill me."

"Did you at least learn anything from him?" Ruby asked rubbing the snot from her nose.

"Yeah," I replied. "He knows my mom. Apparently he knows Dad too." Ruby looked shocked from hearing this.

"We all learned something tonight," Blake said. "Whatever secret (L/N) is keeping is way over our heads."
