Chapter 10

Loki and Mia both drifted off to sleep. She had made Loki feel loved and content once more, enough to relax and rest in her presence. When he woke he looked down at his body, half covered by Mia and noticed that he was back to his usual form. Mia still slumbered on him and Loki didn't want to disturb her, so instead he just raised his left and concentrated on it. Sure enough, it turned blue again. Strangely it didn't feel more or less natural than his current state. Which Loki was the real one he wondered?

So lost in his own thoughts, he didn't even realize Mia was awake until she spoke, "Loki it doesn't matter what you look like on the outside, you're wonderful on the inside." She moved up and kissed his cheek. "Though perhaps we should call your brother or mother or someone so you can ask some questions. I don't think you will be at peace until you know the truth."

"My mother, we need to get in contact with her. She is the only one I trust to tell me the truth of who and what I am." Loki said. "Maybe she has some insight into who you are as well." Loki kissed Mia briefly. "Thank you for keeping me calm. If I had discovered this secret with anyone else, well I am afraid of what I might have done if I let myself get too carried away."

"I'm here for whatever support you need Loki." She kissed him again, but pulled away before they could get too carried away. "Let's get dressed and see if we can contact your mother, I would prefer for her not to see me naked after just ravishing her son."

"That might be best, though once my mother leaves we should get back to ravishing each other. My mind is in some turmoil, but truthfully I want you again. And I don't think that feeling, that need, is ever going to go away."

"I know what you mean." Mia kissed him and then started to get dressed. Loki followed suit, dressing in casual mortal wear that Mia seemed to like him in. "You are going to have to teach me to materialize whatever clothes I want, I will forever be in fashion then." Mia laughed while watching him.

"You look best in nothing at all." Loki said, stepping closer. "But I will teach you whatever you like. I can't wait to see you blossom into your magic, into your power."

Mia kissed him again. "You need to stop saying such sweet things or we are never going to get out of this bedroom."

"I like it here, though it's even better when we are in the actual bed."

"Loki, focus. You need to talk to your mother. You need to find out more about yourself, about your situation. Yes I am distracting you now, but you know that eventually it will eat you up inside. Talk to your mother, then we can see about heading back to bed for some sinful bliss."

Loki placed a sweet kiss on her lips. "Beautiful and wise. Okay, let's see if I can contact my mother. At the very least I can let out a burst of magic and probably get Thor's attention again."

Once they were downstairs and behaving themselves at last, Mia asked, "So how do we go about contacting your mother?"

"I have no idea. We know that Thor is monitoring me, but I would rather talk to my mother away from my brother if at all possible. She taught me a trick with mirrors long ago, I'm hoping that I can reach her directly. And it so happens you have a lovely mirror here that will work perfectly." He walked over to a large mirror in Mia's living room, above her fireplace. "I hope this works. If not on to plan B, using enough magic to get Thor back down here." He turned and smiled at Mia, who stood quietly by. "This is actually quite a simple spell, I can teach it to you if you'd like." He reached his hand out to Mia.

She tentatively came over to him, "Loki this is about you and finding the answers that you need. You don't need to worry about teaching me magic right now. We don't even know if I can use magic like you do."

"This isn't just about me. It's about us, about you. You have more magic in you than any other being I have ever met, including my mother who taught me everything that I know. I know we've just met and that the connection between us is speeding everything up, but we are in this together. We are going to discover our true selves together. So I might as well start teaching you more about your magic." Loki said before gently moving her in front of the mirror. He placed his hands on her shoulders and felt a slight tremble. "Just relax. You can do this, I know that you can. Place your hands on the mirror. Clear your mind."

Mia took a deep breath and closed her eyes, placing her hands on the mirror. "Okay, now what?"

"Push you magic into the mirror, think of making it a two way mirror. Just picture it in your mind, think that you will be able to see someone else on the other side." Loki spoke softly in her ear

He could see the magic flowing from her hands and the mirror becoming almost transparent and liquid to the touch. Mia pulled back suddenly, "It feels strange, the mirror is no longer solid. I did this?" She could not keep the wonder out of her voice.

Loki kissed her cheek. "I told you that you were magical. Now place your hands back on the mirror. Since you don't know my mother, you are going to channel some of my power to reach out to her. Just let my magic flow through you and call out her name."

Mia turned her head to look at him skeptically. "Are you sure I can do this?"

"Darling, you already are. Now just concentrate. Feel my power, feel the connection between us and call out my mother's name. I assume you know it from one of your many books?" He couldn't help but tease her.

"Of course I know it. Though there are some different translations and even some disputes amongst mythology scholars…" Mia began before stopping herself when she heard him chuckle behind her.

"Just call out Frigga. Hopefully she is in her chambers and therefore near a mirror." Loki began to get a little nervous. He was so confused and wanted answers, but he wasn't sure he would like what he found out.

Mia placed her hands back on the mirror, closing her eyes once more. Loki pushed his memories of his mother through her, only feeling the connection between them deepening as he did so. He felt Mia tense with his power before she called out, "Frigga."

The liquid like surface of the mirror began to spin under Mia's hands before it suddenly stopped and Loki could see his mother's chambers in Asgard. Soon his mother's face appeared, "Yes?"

Mia's eyes popped open and she let out, "Oh, I did it!"

"I never had a doubt." Loki placed a kiss on the top of her head before moving more fully in front of the mirror.

"Loki!" Frigga exclaimed. "What is it? And who is this? The woman Thor mentioned when I told him to leave you be?"

"Hello Mother. We need to talk. Is there any way you can make it to Midgard without Father? I have some questions that need to be answered." He paused and looked at Mia. "We have some questions that need to be answered. Plus I want you and Mia here to meet."

A smile came across Frigga's face. "I will be there shortly. Thor already told me where to find you."

"See you soon Mother." Loki said as the connection disappeared.

"Ready to meet my mother?" He smiled at Mia, even though he felt nerves like never before inside.
