Yang POV

After what the four of us had seen last night I managed to convince Ruby to discuss the events involving (Y/N) (L/N) and the man in black. When we got together in the library it has already started to get dark. It wouldn't be long until we would have to return to our room. "So this is what we have," I began. "(Y/N) (L/N) has a sword fight with a guy in the shopping district. (L/N) cuts his head off causing lightning to fly everywhere. The next night that man in black Kurgan comes and tries to cut (L/N)'s head off until we stopped him."

"Other than him knowing your mom and dad you didn't learn anything about (L/N)," Weiss said.

"Yeah," Ruby said. "Now there's more questions. I hate to say it but everything with Torchwick and the White Fang makes more sense than this." She looked over at Blake and jumped. "Blake I didn't mean-"

"Relax Ruby," Blake said. "You're right. It makes more sense than what's going on with (Y/N) (L/N), but we might learn something from what I've found."

"Wait, what?" I asked surprised by Blake's words.

"Since we talked about (L/N) yesterday I've been doing my own research," Blake answered. "The most recent piece of information came from the news today. The police released the name of the man (L/N) beheaded." She showed us her Scroll. On it was a picture of a man with blonde hair.

"That's him," I told her.

"His name is Iman Fasil," Blake said. "He was an antique dealer from Atlas, and apparently no one knew he was in Vale."

"So we have two antique dealers and a street thug," Weiss said. "Was there anything on the other victims?"

"Unfortunately no," Blake said. "But I did learn something else. There were reports of electrical disturbances on the nights of the beheadings at the location that they died."

"The lightning storm," Ruby said. "Yang, you said that it started after (L/N) cut off Fasil's head. The same must have happened when those other guys died too."

I nodded in agreement. "I bet they had swords to fight off their killer too."

"Alright," Weiss said. "So we have people running around Vale at night with swords, cutting off each other's heads, and making lightning storms in the streets." We were silent as we took in everything she said. "That's crazy."

A sound of thunder turned our attention to the window beside us. Outside in the distance the night sky over Vale was being lit by bolts of lightning, but they appeared to be coming up from the ground. We watched as bolts continued to fly into the sky. "Call me crazy," I said. "But I think someone else just lost their head."

(Y/N) POV

I stood by the window of my living room watching as the power of a fallen Immortal went into the sky until dissipating completely. "Now is the time of the Gathering where the stroke of a sword and the fall of a head releases the power of the Quickening," I said as I left the window and poured myself a glass of whiskey. "In the end, there can be only one."

2,027 years earlier…

My eyes open as air rushed into my lungs and feeling returned to my body. I found myself slung over the back of a camel walking over sand. "So he's woken from the sleep of death reborn as an Immortal," a voice said. "I was beginning to think he would never wake up," said another voice. I turned my head to see two men riding atop camel of their own looking back at me. One had long white hair tied in a braid, and the other I recognized as the guard from the coliseum. "Where am I?"

"We are in the desert," the guard said. "Currently six hours away from the city. I am Methos and this is my associate Tak Ne."

"It's a pleasure to meet you Highlander," Tak Ne said.

"What do you want?' I shouted.

"You," Methos said. He and Tak Ne dismounted their camels and came over to face me. "Your name is (Y/N)."

I had not been called by my name since I was a boy. "How do you know my-"

"Your name is (Y/N)," Tak Ne said. "You were taken from you home as a child, made into a slave, and forced to fight in the coliseum until you were killed by the Kurgan."

I felt a pain surge through my head then I fell off the camel landing face first in the hot sand. I struggled to get on my knees and looked up at the two men. I saw dark clouds gather and thunder rolled. My hand moved above my head and lightning struck it sent an overpowering sensation through my body.

"The sensation you are feeling is the Quickening," Tak Ne said.

"Who are you?" I asked as rain started to pour.

"We are the same as you (Y/N)," Methos said helping me onto my feet. "We are Immortal."

Tak Ne placed his hand on my shoulder. "Yes Highlander," he said with a smile. "The three of us, we are brothers!"
