Scorpius looks angelic.

His hair is all mussed up, and sticking to one side of his face, and he looks cute with it like that. Scorpius usually has perfect hair, Albus thinks, but he doesn't think that Scorpius with messy hair is any less angelic.

He's sitting in the middle of the platform, on his trunk, while people rush about around him, getting to the train and looking for friends, but Scorpius is in the middle of it all the chaos, still.

Albus rushes through all of the people, towards his angelic-looking best friend, and he pauses once he gets close.

From closer, Albus can see his expression better, and Scorpius doesn't look angelic — he looks awful. His hair is messy, but his face shows exhaustion and it looks like something inside of Scorpius just… broke.

"You look like you need a hug," Albus says, once he's approached and Scorpius doesn't look up.

Scorpius glances up at Albus when he hears his voice, and something is wrong. Albus' heart actually hurts when he realizes that Scorpius' eyes have none of the shine they'd had for the entirety of Albus knowing him.

And then Scorpius just sort of falls forward. Albus catches him, of course he does, and Scorpius starts to cry, sobs wracking his body. Albus holds him through it and the hustle and bustle around them seems to stop existing.

"My mom," Scorpius croaks out, his tears still splashing onto Albus' shirt. Albus knows exactly what he's trying to say — Scorpius' mom has been sick for Scorpius' entire life.

Albus supposes that she's… She's…

Albus isn't sure what to say. He just holds his best friend a little bit tighter, and runs his fingers through his hair. His heart hurts for Scorpius, and that's what he thinks about as he hugs his best friend.
