Okay well... I'll be honest I really really hate Elliot. But... this came to my mind and i wanted to see it through.
Violence. Cuteness. Proposal? And fluffy dog warings.
She's happy. She's got everything she wants. A supportive team. A good boss. Good job. Good boyfriend.
However when she is out to dinner, with arguably the man who she could spend a long time with, she spots a man and a woman that she never thought she would see again.
"Hey Liv. Everything okay? You look like you've just seen a ghost." David asks taking her hand.
"Yeah... I'm okay. Just gonna go to the toliet."
"Okay." David says with a smile.
As Olivia heads to the toliet, Elliot sees her and excuses himself from his table with his wife.
"Olivia." Elliot says going to her.
"You have a fucking nerve, following me in here. What the fuck are you trying to achieve Elliot?"
"Liv..."
"No. You left me high and dry. I had nobody. For weeks I had nothing. Worrying about you. It's been over 10 fucking months. The year ends in less time than me last seeing you."
"I'm sorry."
"Sorry. What a load of crap. You aren't sorry. You are a fucking bastard. 12 years. 12 fucking years I spent working my ass off with you as my partner and you just leave." Olivia snaps walking away from him. She goes back to the table with David.
"What happened? You look pissed off." David says. He takes one more look at her. His eyes fill with concern.
"I ran into someone. Sorry baby... I feel really sick." She says softly. David gets up and hugs her.
"Liv... sweetheart. You are shaking." He says softly tightening the grip around her. "Want to go home?" He asks softly.
Olivia lefts from him and just nodds. "Sorry" she says wiping her face.
"Come on lets get you home. I need to make a stop first."
"Yours. I've been staying there for a few weeks now. I forgot what my place looks like."
David chuckles and helps her get her jacket on. He sees Elliot looking at them from a table and he looks at Olivia. "Liv." He says softly.
"Yeah." She says with a little smile.
"Is that him? Over my left shoulder." Olivia just nodds. "What's his name?"
"Elliot Stabler." Olivia states. Before she can even say anything David goes to the table with Elliot and his wife.
"Hi. Sorry to disturb. Could I have a word with you Mr Stabler ?" David says to Elliot and his wife.
"What is this about Elliot?" His wife says to the both of them but more aiming it at Elliot.
"What is this about?"
"It won't take long. I just need to talk to you about a situation that happened a few months ago."
"Months." Elliot says.
"Yes sir. You have been a hard man to track down recently."
Elliot gets up and follows Elliot outside. Olivia follows the two men keeping a distance from them. David stops he looks back to see Olivia and thinks quickly that she shouldn't have to see this. "Wait here." David orders Elliot. He runs back to Olivia "open your hand out." He says.
She does and looks at him as he places his car key in her hand. "What are you doing?" She asks. "David... Please don't do something stupid."
"Just go get the car. I'll meet you here. I promise. I'll be okay. Just go get the car." Olivia takes one look at him but realises there isn't any hope of talking him out of whatever he's doing and knowing that Elliot is over waiting for him she smiles.
"Okay. Please be careful." She says softly. David nods and goes back to Elliot.
He takes Elliot into the alley towards the end of the street.
"Who are you?" Elliot asks.
"That's for me to know and you not to find out. Okay?"
"Fine. What do you want with me?"
David pushes Elliot up against the wall. "Listen to me. Listen carefully." David says in Elliot's face.
"I'm not scared of you." Elliot growls.
"I don't want you to be. I want you to be terrified. If you ever see me again. I want you to be nervous." David says tilting Elliot's face to look at him. "Keep your eyes on me. You bastard."
"Get it over with." Elliot says.
Bang. One hit to the face. David smirks. "That's for hurting her."
Bang. Another hit, this time to the stomach "that's for making her feel shit about herself."
"This." David says punching Elliot once more. "Is for if you even look at her again..." He says hitting him again. "You won't just have a cut lip."
"What is this about?"
"Detective Benson."
"Who?"
"Don't treat me as a fool." David says punching him again in the stomach. Elliot winces and nodds. "If you even try and get into contact with her again. You'll have more than a few cuts."
"What's she got to do with you?" Elliot says managing to get David off him.
"Who are you?"
David says nothing starts to walk back to his car to see Olivia. He opens the door to see Olivia "what the fuck happened to your hand." She says looking at him, her face filled with worry.
David explains what happened and ends with "I love you. I'm sorry."
"Does he know about the baby?"
"No. I wouldn't do that to you." David says. "I'm sorry. I just hate seeing you..." he is cut of by her lips against his. They kiss for a few seconds before he nips at her bottom lip a little before pulling back and smiling at her.
"David. Okay I don't agree with the violence asepect... but." She trails off. "You protected me. Just don't kill him. I want you and me to be together a long time."
"I know. For the record detective. I want this to work." He says with a little chuckle. "I think that might just be my wedding vow in one line."
"You'd marry me."
"Not yet. But..." David pulls out his phone and shows her a screenshot of a house. "What do you think of this?"
"It's beautiful. It's amazing."
"3 bedrooms. Big garden. Big kitchen. There's a little river at the back of the house around a 10 minute walk."
"Expensive." Olivia states
"Do you like it?" David asks.
"Yes. It's gorgoeus... It's..." Olivia stops talking as David finishes the sentence.
"Ours." He says softly with a smile.
"What?" A mix between shock and happiness is running through her veins.
"I bought it. I got a raise a few months back. Sold the Mercedes."
"You loved that car." Olivia says.
"Do you want to move in with me?"
"Yes." She says quietly. David smiles and looks at her. He takes her hand putting a key into it.
"I spoke to captian Cragen. He is allowing me to take you from the team tomorrow so we can go furniture shopping and you can see the house."
"You spoke to my boss."
"I was gonna tell you tonight. There is something that comes with the house."
"What?"
"I'll show you." David says taking his phone and scrolling through the contacts. He types a quick text and within the space of a few seconds there is a knock at his window on the car. "Keep your eyes shut." He says getting out the car. He opens Olivia's door and helps her out. "Keep your eyes shut." He says again. He holds her hand.
"Where are you taking me?"
"Just down here. I want you to see what you are getting into." David says. "Wait here. Liv I want you to meet Mario."
"Who's Mario?"
"It's not a who. It's a what. Open your eyes baby." He whispers into her ear.
She opens her eyes to see a little, fluffy cloud bounding towards them. Mario, a fluffy Labrador, runs straight to David who picks him up. He looks to see Olivia, who has tears in her eyes. "Baby what's wrong?"
"I've always wanted a dog."
"Come here." David says pulling her into him and Mario. As Olivia strokes the little ball of fluff David says "I remembered. I love you. Mario was brought up with kids too. So he is good with babies. He is trained too. He doesn't need a lead."
"David this is amazing."
"I love you. I love you more than my old Mercedes. I love you more than anything. I would do anything for both you and the baby inside of you. He doesn't come with the house. But... big garden. I remembered how much you wished you could get a puppy so I made a call to a friend."
"Thank you." Olivia says with a smile and kisses him softly. "I love you. Thank you."
"Would you marry me?"
"In an instant." Olivia says with a smile. David just smirks. "What?"
"Read aloud his tag." David says handing the ball of fluff to her.
She eventually finds the tag on his collar "one last suprise." She looks up to see David taking a small box from his jacket.
"Put him down baby." David says softly. She does and David takes her hand. "Olivia Benson. With you. I found a soul mate. A person who I love. A person I can trust. A person who will grow to be my best friend. I know we haven't been together long. I know this evening started roughly. But... I know one thing. I want you for the rest of my life. I went to see Don about doing this." He opens the box. "Olivia. Will you marry me?"
"Yes." Olivia says softly. "I love you." She says. He slips the ring onto her finger before getting up and kissing her.
"You are off till Tuesday. When I told Cragen about this. He said that we deserve to have some time together. So... lets get you home. All we need to do is get an oven and a new tv. The rest of the house is sorted. I've moved some stuff in. I can move as early as tomorrow. I can get you moved as early as monday. I happen to have gone to school with your landlord. He owes me big time."
"I love you. I love you so much." She says hugging him. Mario barks and Olivia picks him up. "I love you too." Olivia says softly and Mario licks her face and they laugh at the puppy. "Come on." Olivia says. "Lets go" she pauses. "Lets go home."
